White Tiger, Black Dragon

When Frost Meets Storm

Hi so I create another chat story and don't mind the image of the characters
Now back to the story

The snow still clung to Yun Qian’s shoulders when he stepped into the great hall of the Imperial Court.
His long silver hair shimmered under the lantern light, and the cold air seemed to follow him in, frosting the edges of the red carpet.
Every noble and official turned to look.
Some whispered, "That must be the White Tiger Clan’s heir…"
"I thought they only sent their patriarch for imperial summons."
.
.
Yun Qian ignored them.
His amber eyes were sharp and unyielding, fixed on the golden throne at the far end.
On the dais, the Emperor sat pale and thin, his breathing shallow.
Beside him, a man in white and black robes fanned himself lazily, as if court politics were a game he had already won.
Yun Qian’s brows drew together. That was Ji Feng, the Black Dragon Clan’s young master.
His hair was bound high, a black ribbon trailing like ink down his back.
The fan in his hand bore painted bamboo leaves, but Yun Qian suspected the man’s true weapon was his tongue.
The Emperor’s voice was faint but clear.

“The northern borders are under threat. The foreign armies have breached two outposts. The White Tiger Clan will send its best swordsman… and the Black Dragon Clan will send its strategist. You will command the army together.”
A ripple of unease spread through the court.
White Tiger and Black Dragon — working together?
It was like asking fire and ice to share the same flame.
Ji Feng rose, bowing with elegance.

“This humble servant will obey Your Majesty’s will.”
His eyes, dark as midnight storms, slid toward Yun Qian.

“I trust my… partner will be as skilled in the field as his reputation claims.”
Yun Qian’s voice was cold as the winter wind.
Ji Feng-- Black Dragon

“I don’t need trust. I need victory.”
The tension was a blade between them — thin, sharp, and ready to draw blood.
In that moment, neither man realized that the White Tiger spirit and the Black Dragon spirit, unseen to mortal eyes, had already circled each other in the air above…
Their fates entwining like an inescapable knot.
Outside, snow began to fall again. Inside, war had already begun.

Blades and Words

The war council chamber was warm, but Yun Qian still felt the cold.
Perhaps it came from the man seated across the table — Ji Feng — smiling faintly as if everything were going exactly as he planned.
On the table lay a large map of the northern borders.
Red marks showed the enemy’s advances, dangerously close to the White Tiger Clan’s territory.
Ji Feng tapped the map with his fan.

“We should allow them to push deeper. Once they’re overconfident, we cut off their supply lines.”
Yun Qian’s hand tightened on the hilt of his sword.

“You want to invite them in? The villages along that path will be slaughtered.”
Ji Feng’s gaze sharpened.

"War demands sacrifices. If you can’t make them, you’ll lose the entire front.”
Yun Qian leaned forward, voice low and dangerous.

“I don’t gamble with innocent lives.”
The two men locked eyes, the tension in the room thick enough to choke.
It was the Emperor’s chief eunuch who broke the silence, clearing his throat nervously.

“My lords, the enemy has already reached the Xiang River outpost. A decision must be made tonight.”
Ji Feng closed his fan with a soft snap.
Ji Feng-- Black Dragon

“Very well. We’ll fight your way this time, White Tiger. But remember—when the cost is high, the blame will be yours.”
Yun Qian stood.

“If we win, you’ll owe me.”
Ji Feng’s smirk deepened.
Ji Feng-- Black Dragon

“And if we lose… you’ll owe me everything.”
Outside the council chamber, the snowstorm raged on.
Neither man saw the faint outlines of a white tiger and a black dragon pacing just beyond the veil of the mortal world, their eyes glowing with an ancient hunger.

The First Roar

.

Dawn broke over the battlefield in shades of silver and red.
The Xiang River outpost stood on the ridge ahead, its gates battered, enemy banners fluttering like black crows.
Yun Qian drew his sword, the frost along its blade catching the light.
Behind him, the White Tiger Clan’s warriors stood in disciplined silence.
Across the field, Ji Feng’s soldiers moved with calculated precision, awaiting his signal.
Ji Feng approached, his fan now closed and tucked into his belt.
Ji Feng-- Black Dragon

“Once we breach the gate, your men take the right flank. I’ll lead mine to cut through the center.”
Yun Qian gave a curt nod.
Yun Qian-- White Tiger

“Just don’t slow us down.”
The horns of war sounded. Arrows darkened the sky. Steel clashed against steel.
In the chaos, Yun Qian fought like winter incarnate, every strike freezing the breath of his enemies.
But as the enemy’s warlord emerged — a towering figure wielding a halberd wreathed in flame — the air shifted.
From deep within, something ancient stirred.
Yun Qian’s vision blurred, and a roar unlike any mortal beast tore through the air.
White light exploded around him, and when it cleared, a colossal white tiger stood where he had been, its fur glistening with frost.
Across the field, Ji Feng’s body trembled with a surge of power.
Shadows coiled around him, and a black dragon rose into the sky, its eyes glowing like stormfire.
The battlefield froze in awe and terror. Two mythical beasts, long thought lost to legend, now stood side by side.
The warlord stumbled back, eyes wide.
“Impossible… the Tiger and the Dragon… together?”
The tiger’s growl and the dragon’s hiss merged into one sound — the sound of fate awakening.
— To be continued.
