Kael grits his teeth as he slides to the floor. His back hits the cold tile.

Blood. It pools fast. Warm against his thighs. Sticky on the floor. Too much.
He presses a hand between his legs and sees the crimson on his plan.

He leans back alone in a room that no one is aware he entered. He thought he had more time.
There are only a few weeks or days left, but not like this.
Pain blooms through him in waves. His body heaves. The air shimmers around him.
His finger claw at the floor. No one answers.
He screams, but Not from fear. not from anger. He screams because he Knows. knows this is the end.
Knows no one is coming.
Knows he did all this along.
He chokes on a scream as the last push drains the strength from his limb.
A small sound follows. A cry. Thin, wet, and fragile, but alive.

**He turns his head slowly, barely able to move.**
The baby is there. Pink, tiny, trembling.

**He smiles through blood—slicked lips.**

He wanted to reach. To hold. To whisper a name. But his arms won't lift.

**His vision blurs**
It's not just the blood loss. it's everything. Memories, Regrets, longing. The love he never get.

Like he's falling asleep with the light on.
He listens to the child's cries echo against the tiles. No one comes.

Then his eyes caught the tag dangling from the flower bucket.
“Dear Kael, Wishing you good health.”
He recognized the handwriting instantly—
it was his brother's.
Turning toward the window, he caught his reflection in The glass. the face staring back at him looked younger, far younger than he remembered.
Confusion gripped him. He knew— without a doubt that he had died?

The thought struck him like a blade.
He tried to push himself up from the bed, but the nurse hurried over and stopped him.

**her voice was gentle**
But it barely reached him
Then— another voice. Deep. Familiar.
A voice he hadn't heard in years.

He had buried his father he remembered the funeral, the earth closing over the coffin. And yet... here he was. Warm. Breathing.

His gaze darted from his father to the nurse, then to his own hands — slimmer, unscathed, trembling.
The hospital room felt too bright, too strange, as if the world itself had been rewound.
