Lucian, our ml is the son of the main leads of the novel and the Blackwoods and Davis are friends so they know each other from childhood. To convert thier friendship into relationship, they both are marrying their children to each other. This marriage was decided when Reina and Lucian were children but it was not forced on them since they were allowed to break it after they come of age of they loved someone else. Lucian didn't mind it since he wanted to escape women crawling up to him and Reina could be a proper excuse while Reina didn't mind since she would get the chance to have such lovely in-laws.
