Growing up for me wasn't easy. When I was 6 years old, I lost my mom and dad in a tragic fire. "Just get her out of this house. Send her to an orphanage." My Auntie shouted loudly with disgust in her eyes. It was clear my relatives didn't want to take care of me. Fortunately, I ended up in a good orphanage with Nanny who took excellent care of each child. However, things never felt the same at all. I constantly felt a swirling feeling of being stranded in a jungle with nobody in my life. I never knew how to make friends. However, it was about to change, when I finally met him.

I grew tired of this life I never saw what the point of living was. I just wanted to die then join my mom and dad in the grave then finally rest in peace.

As I sat all by myself in the ward, tears steaming down my cheeks with my heart wishing for death to take me away. Meanwhile, Jophly suddenly woke up. He sat up, decided to take a late night walk around the orphanage. The soft breeze playing a tune that which I couldn't understand and the stars shiny bright like a diamond. Just then out of nowhere, Jophly found me crying. He decided to hide behind the wall to observe. "Why is she crying?" Jophly mumbled to himself looking intrigued.

Simulatiously, I was crying softly I felt someone was watching me behind the shadows but I quickly brushed it off. Moveover, I felt a strong heap of loneliness, pain and sadness. The feeling of being struck and trapped in a deep hole was all over me knowing that there is no one to save me.

As look around the empty ward in tears feeling hopeless. The cold sensation touch my skin and I covered myself in a blanket.

During that time, Jophly was observing . "Should I go to help her?" Jophly said to himself in thought but he could bring himself. "It's the middle of the night. I might scare her maybe next time." Jophly continue saying in his thoughts looking at me one time and left. Jophly was prayed for a moment to bump into me again. He thought of empathizing me. Jophly finally reached his dorm looking curious about the girl he just met.

Around 5 a.m, I was determined to end my life. I quickly woke up, went to the orphanage kitchen, took a knife and went to the pond. During that time, Jophly was also wake up early. He was throwing stones in the pond deep in thought. In that moment, Jophly was throwing the last stone in his hands, he heard foot steps. Suddenly, Jophly turned to see me who was holding a knife. He quickly realize that it's was the same girl he was last night. "What on earth is she going to do?" Jophly said softly to himself. He's heart pounding in his chest fearing the worst for her. So he began to follow the girl.

Simulatiously, I finally reached the perfect spot to end my life. I stood at the edge of the land near the pond. Suddenly, tears streaming down my eyes as I looked tired and weary like I never felt before.

Meanwhile, Jophly saw me standing at the edge of the pond. He decided to wait for a while until then he can't come out. "She trying to end her life.....Oh my God." Jophly wisphered to himself he palms sweating in fear.

Until then, I shouted with tears and pain my tone," Jehovah God, Please forgive me what am about to do. Am tired, very much. I have no parents, no friends...am all alone. My own family dumped me in this Orphanage without a care in the world. So please understand me, forgive me. At the same time, I was done saying those words. I heard someone crying and wiping out loud. "Who's there? Show yourself." I shouted loudly as I felt a mixture of fear and sadness.

Simulatiously, Jophly who was crying out loud feeling the pain I expressed. He heard my statement and decided to show himself. Slowly, he came out from the bushes he was hiding. In that moment, I saw a boy who looked about my age. "Who are you?" I asked curiously while holding the knife.

"I'm Jophly" Jophly replied gently.

"Am sorry. I just wanted to know why you are about to kill yourself." Jophly continue saying. "Why?" I asked feeling a bit hesitant.

"Because I was in the situation has you are in. Please let me help you." Jophly said softly, empathy evident in his eyes.

It was the first time someone was offering such kindness to me and couldn't help but have a slit smile on my face. I took a step towards him still holding the knife. "

Can you give me the knife?" Jophly asked politely, I followed I gave the knife to him. Just then, Jophly suddenly came forward and wiped my tears with a cloth he kept in his bag. I could help but feel a warm feeling has he wiped my tears away. Jophly took my hand then we went away from the pond. I wondered where could he be taking me.

Jophly lead me to two large bushes. "Welcome to my secret garden." Jophly said cheerfully.

Confused at his statement I asked," where?" Jophly responded has he pulled a button," here."

Suddenly the two large bushes slit open to a beautiful garden. It looked like the Garden of Eden. "This is my secret garden." Jophly stated with a smile on his face.

"Wow it's looking breathtaking." I whispered softly in astonishment. "By the way, how did you discover this amazing place?" I asked curiously.

 "Well my late elder sister, Natalie and I found this garden. But I didn't look like this...it was neglected. Natalie and I sent our time fixing and nurturing this place back to life." Jophly explained with passion and joy in tone.

As I felt a mixture of surprise and amazement at the garden. "Well you really did a great job. Wait! Did you say your elder Sister is late?" I questioned with a hint of shock.

Suddenly, Jophly expression changed, a heap of sadness came over him. "Well my sister died a year ago due that she had bone cancer." Jophly explained sadness evident in his tone.

"I understand how you feel, my mom and dad died in a fire. That burning fire seeing it.... made my heart also to be in flames. My relatives seeing that there was no will...got the properties and sent me to this Orphanage. I really felt betrayed and abounded." I commented tears welled up again.

"That's really sad... you know killing myself... Isn't going to solve the problem." Jophly said softly.

"I know am just really tired of this life. I have no parents and no friends. Am all alone and in pain of what happened." I expressed sadly feeling a weight lifted off my chest.

"You are not alone any more I will be your friend. If you allow me to." Jophly noted gently tapping my shoulders.

"I already you are my friend. I have accepted you has one." I replied with a slit smile.

"Of course." Jophly said with a bright smile. "You know being here in this garden reminds of Natalie...all we sent...I feel close to her. Maybe you should have some that makes you feel close to your parents." Jophly suggested with a smile.

"I think you are right. But being in this garden... reminds of the times when parents and I used to go to the park to have fun." I expressed with joy and happiness.

"Well that's sounds great. From now on this our secret garden." Jophly noted and gave me a gentle nudge on my shoulder. After that moment, things started to take a great turn.

As the years flew by, Jophly and I became besties. Everyone knew wherever I was Jophly was there right by side.

The Nans of the orphanage could always gossip about us. "Naomi and Jophly, they look good together."

One Nan could say to the other. "Yeah, they look so adorable together. I hope they get married in the future." Other Nan replied. Meanwhile, other kids at the orphanage could always sing has we entered," Jophly and Naomi kissing a tree. K.I.S.S.I.N.G."

Jophly and I could both ended blushing I can't lie, I actually ended up falling for him deeply. Jophly was kind, sweet as honey, caring also he was like a teddy bear ready to comfort me when am down. When always supported each other through and through. Moveover, I started to realize that Jophly was actually pretty cute. Jophly looked like kid danger from the Henry danger series from his pink lips, tall, thin figure. Additionally, let's not talk about his light skin that shone brighter like the sun. During our spare times, Jophly and I always spend our time in the secret garden. We planted and watered the flowers. Most of all, we could see butterflies come to our garden.

"Wow, Jophly looked at the butterflies. I love them so much just look at their beautiful colors." I said cheerfully while pointing at the butterflies in all of their beauty.

"Yeah, I see them. However, they aren't as beautiful as you." Jophly commented look at me. That left me completely speechless, and I felt butterflies in my stomach.

"Oh.. Come on." I expressed with a bright smile. Jophly never failed to put a smile on my face. But I had this feeling that Jophly was also falling for me too.

"Naomi, I want to ask." Jophly stated in voice.

"What, Go on." I asked feeling bit curious.

"I want to ask, are you going to get the properties that rightfully belong to you?" Jophly questioned curiously.

"you know, I really don't want to. I just want build my own legacy without using my late parents resources." I answered with determination in my heart.

"Okay, that's my girl." Jophly stated feeling proud.

"Why do you ask?" I questioned curiously wondering why he could ask that all of a sudden.

"Well... I wondered if you are going to take back what's yours. I wanted to help you…you know." Jophly expressed cheerfully.

"Okay... but you shouldn't do that." I replied nonchalantly.

"Why? You mean a lot to me." Jophly declared looking at me.

"Aww.... thanks." I said softly, but I felt my heart flatter deep down.

Something surprising happened. That I can never forget in my entire life. It brought so much happiness and Joy to both Jophly and I.
