As I dragged myself to the elevator, I was shocked and my face was pale. What did I just see? Was that really my boyfriend? Was that really the person I was going to marry?

While driving, I tried to reach Alex ‘my boyfriend’, but he wasn’t answering so I sent him a text message “Meet me at the hotel”. On getting to the hotel, I saw Alex’s car parked at the parking lot. As I ran excitedly to see him, I stumbled into someone “I’m so sorry”, I said. He just looked at me with cold eyes and walked away. “What’s with him” I thought. As I got to room, I heard some weird noises. As I got closer, the noise became more visible “I feel sooo goood” I recognised that voice at once. It was CLEO! I opened the door and terror filled my eyes. My best friend and boy friend having sxx. To make it worse, on my honey moon bed. The whole world sank beneath me. "Alex! what are you doing" I said terrified "Kia I....I'm sorry" I slammed the door shut and stormed off.

I got to my car and drove as fast as I could to my house. I was so devastated, I never believe Alex could do such a thing. I packed my clothes and headed for the door. Outside my house, I met Alex and Cleo standing by the door outside the house. Alex walked up to me and said walked up to me and said “I’m so sorry Kia but I can’t do this anymore. I love Cleo”. After my words, I stormed off. I put my luggage in my car and zoomed off to the airport. On my way, I called the event planner “hello. Cancel the preparations” “Which one of them ma’am” “All of them” “Ma’am, do you not like them, I….I can make adjustments” “no, cancel everything. I'll pay for all the damage I've caused” “okay ma’am, If you say so"

Knock Knock. “Come in” “good morning Kia” “morning Kia" "good morning Iris" "how was your night” “good and yours” “it was fine” “I’ve prepared your bath for you. I’ll go cook breakfast” “I’ll be down in a sec.” “ok”. A few minutes later, Kia went downstairs. “What’s for breakfast Iris?” “Scrambled eggs and pancakes. Here’s yours, try it” she looked at me eagerly to know the result “mhmm, tastes good” “really!” “Yeah, it’s very tasty” “ok then, eat while I go have my bath”. She went upstairs while I ate.

“Ms. Iris, are you done” “almost” “to avoid reporters, we should be on our way to the airport” “……………………….. I’m done” “uhmm, it’s about time. I’ll go get the car ready”.

At the airport……………………….

When the reporters saw me ‘Kia’, they all ran towards me and threw all sorts of questions at me. “Ms. Kia, why have you decided to leave” “Ms. Kia are you quitting you career for good”, “Ms. Kia, what are your dark secrets”. I looked at them as they were ranting non-stop, but a particular caught my ear “Ms. Kia, do you have anybody in mind for marriage”. “NO!” I said before walking away. They followed me all the way to the entrance of my plane. When I finally got inside the plane, I heaved a sign of relieve. Then I said “that was tiring” “yeah” “so, I’ve booked rooms in a nearby hotel” “thanks Iris, you’re the best” I said as I gave her a hug. The rest of the trip went smoothly.

New York City

As I alighted from the plane, I remembered my past experience in this country. Iris saw that I was lost in thoughts and held my hand. She then said “Kia, will you be alright” “yeah, I will” “let’s go shopping, that’ll clear your mind” “good idea”

After shopping, Iris and I got dressed to see the client. While doing so, I said “awnn, my girl’s all grown up” I was filled with emotions. I clearly remembered the day I met iris. I was driving home after work when it suddenly started to rain. The rain was so heavy that I had to park by the side of the road. As I waited by the side of the road, I heard a faint knock on the door. I opened the door slightly and saw a girl in her teens. I looked at her with pity and let her in. when the rain finally stopped, she was fast asleep. I drove her to the hospital and had her body scanned for any illness, thankfully, there was none. When she finally woke up, I asked her “hey, you’re finally awake. What’s your name?” “Iris”, she said “wow, such a lovely name, where are your parents” “I’m an orphan” “ohh, I’m so sorry” “thank you”. From that day, I took her as my sister. Looking at her brought tears to my eyes. She came close to me and hugged me. She whispered “thank you for taking care of me”. Then I said “thank you for staying with me” we were so engrossed in the bonding that we lost track of time.
