⭐ Introduction ⭐
𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 is not your average high school girl. She's a boxer—strong, fast, and fearless. Most students know better than to mess with her. She doesn’t talk much, keeps to herself, and walks through the halls like she owns the place. Her eyes are sharp, and her heart? Cold… unless you’re one of the very few she cares about.
NovelToon
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 lives with her mom, 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝗶𝗵𝘆𝗲, a hardworking single mother. Their life isn’t easy, but it’s simple and honest. While her mom works long hours, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 trains, studies, and keeps her walls high. She’s not looking for friends. She’s not looking for trouble. But if trouble finds her… it better be ready to 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦.
--
𝗠𝘆𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 has everything money can buy—but none of the things that matter. He’s from a rich family, but his home is cold and painful. His parents, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗵𝗼 and 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗼, care more about their image 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 their own son. Sometimes, they even 𝘩𝘪𝘵 him.
NovelToon
At school, things aren’t better. People think he’s stuck-up or weird, so he gets bullied. Especially by the 𝙆 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙜 (bullies). They treat him like a servant. He’s always carrying their bags, buying their drinks, and taking their insults.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 didn’t care at first. But today felt 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵.

At school 🏫
Everything felt.. normal. Boring, even. But sometimes, silence means something’s about to go wrong. And today..? Oh yeah. It went wrong.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 walked through the hallway, holding a small carton of strawberry milk.
She wasn’t really drinking it. Just.. staring at it.
The same kind 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 was almost soaked in.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 sipped it slowly.
Sweet. Cold. Kind of annoying.
Then—
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 turned a corner and accidentally came across them.
The 𝙆 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙜.

Everyone stayed quiet.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 stood still.
Didn’t move.
Didn't explain.

𝙊𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙝𝙚𝙧.
Because she was the only one… 𝙉𝙤𝙩 injured.
She walked down the hallway alone. Her head hurt. Her hands were sore.
But her heart? Still calm.
And as she walked..
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 saw 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 in the distance. Watching everything.
He didn’t move. Didn’t say anything.
Just watched. Like everyone else
.
.
At teacher's office
The door creaked open. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 stepped inside.
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 was already at his desk, arms crossed, eyes sharp.
He pointed at the chair in front of him.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“Sit.”
𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯.
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 didn’t speak at first. Just stared at 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹.
Then, slowly—
He slammed his palm on the desk.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“Do you think this is a joke?!” 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥.

Teacher Park
“Fighting in the hallway?! Grabbing other students?! What were you thinking, Youngil?!”

Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“You think just because you’re quiet, I’ll let it go?!”
He stood up.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“You could’ve seriously hurt someone!”
𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵.
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 walked around the desk and leaned in.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“You’re lucky those students didn’t break anything. Or else I would’ve called your parents 𝘢𝘯𝘥 the police.”
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 tilted her head slightly, finally meeting his eyes.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
“...I didn’t start it.”
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 scoffed.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“Oh? Then who did?”
𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“Exactly. No one else is talking. Only 𝘺𝘰𝘶.”
𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦.
Outside the office window, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 could see some students walking in the hallway. Laughing. Chatting. Free.
While her sat here 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 sighed and walked back to his seat. He rubbed his temple.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“Every month, there’s always something with you.”
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 blinked. This again.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“People like you… always act strong. Until they cross the line.”
His words didn’t sting anymore. They used to.
She just looked at the photo frame on his desk. A family photo.
So he has someone too.
He finally put down his pen.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“You’re getting detention. And I’m calling your mother.”
..Of course
.
📞
.
As 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 stood up to leave, 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 said one last thing.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
“You may think you’re a hero in your little head… but you’re just another troublemaker to me.”
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 didn’t reply.
Then she left.
.
After the fight with the 𝙆 𝙂𝙖𝙣𝙜, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 was called to the teacher's office alone. 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 scolded her harshly and gave detention. But when 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 walked out of the office..
As 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 closed the door behind her, she let out a small breath.
Then—
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 saw 𝗵𝗶𝗺.
𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻.
He was standing there. Just a few steps away from the office.
They looked at each other. For a few seconds.
Then 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 turned and started walking away.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 didn’t even think. She 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘥 him.

Myung Jaehyun

𝘕𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘳.

Then 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 just blurted it out—
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
“Wanna be my friend?”
He stopped.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 stopped too. Her heart was beating fast, and she didn’t know why.
𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 turned his head. Looked at 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹.

𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 just.. stared.
Not angry. Not sad. Just… quiet.
Then—he looked away again. And walked past 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
“...No?” 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 was sleeping and suddenly she dreamed of something..
(𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 still remembered the kid in the photo—the one she once saved. That promise… still heavy on her heart)
--
Darkness
Screaming
A hand reaching out.
“𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽…!”
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 was running in the 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮. Running toward the sound.
But no matter how fast 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 ran, she couldn’t reach the kid.
“Wait—!” 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘥.
The kid turned around. Tears on the kid's face.
“𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱…”
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 reached out— But everything turned to black.
𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘨𝘢𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘥. Sat up on her bed, sweating.
Her chest hurt. Her hands were shaking.
It was still dark outside. No sound but her own breathing.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
“…again,” 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥.
Another 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙚.
--
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 got up from bed.
Her muscles ached a little, but she didn’t care.
She changed into a clean shirt and grabbed her hoodie.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 looked in the mirror. Her hair was a mess.
She fixed it with her fingers and gave herself a half-smile.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
“Let’s go protect someone else today,” 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘭𝘺.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 opened the door, ready to head to school.
🏫
It was just a normal PE day at school. The hallway was quiet. Too quiet. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 was wearing her sportswear, walking around with no real goal.
But then... she heard some noise coming from her classroom.
She followed the sound.
.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 stopped in front of the class and peeked through the small glass window on the door.
Inside, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 saw 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 standing still—nervous. In front of him were 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼, 𝗛𝘆𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗯𝗶𝗻, and 𝗝𝗼𝗼𝗻. The other boys in the classroom were laughing.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 noticed something... 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 hadn’t changed into his PE clothes. He was still wearing his uniform.
Myung Jaehyun

“Yeah, just stay the weak loser you are,” 𝘏𝘺𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘣𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘥.
Laughter filled the room.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 eyes narrowed.
Then suddenly—two shadows blocked her view.
𝗝𝗶𝘆𝘂 and 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗲.
Ki Jiyu

“What the hell are you doing here?”

"Go away."

"Oh my god.. I can't believe it.. You? Stalking someone? That's new—"
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 just ignored them and calmly pushed 𝗝𝗶𝘆𝘂’𝘀 forehead aside so she could keep watching.
Ki Jiyu
Ki Jiyu
“Hey! What’s your problem?!” 𝘑𝘪𝘺𝘶 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥.

But 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 was already turning the doorknob.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 stepped inside the classroom, calm. 𝗝𝗶𝘆𝘂, mid-kick, slipped and fell behind her with a loud thud.
All the boys turned to look.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 walked in slowly, her eyes locked on 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼.
The room went silent.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 said nothing.
Kam Duho

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹’𝘀 eyes locked on him, the sound of their laughter turning into a dull roar in her head. Her hands curled into fists until her knuckles turned white.
Without a word, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 walked over, grabbed the nearest 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 from someone’s desk, and 𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩𝘦𝘥 it right in 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼’𝘀 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦.
The laughter died instantly. The classroom fell into a stunned silence—even 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻’𝘀 eyes widened.
𝗝𝗶𝘆𝘂 shot to her feet, voice sharp like a whip.
Ki Jiyu
Ki Jiyu
"Hey! How dare you, you crazy b*stard!"
She was ready to lunge, but 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗲’𝘀 hand shot out, stopping her.
Kyung Mirae

"Jiyu, relax.."
𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼 sat there, dripping, his jaw tight. He didn’t explode—not yet.
Slowly, he wiped his face with the back of his hand, eyes narrowing.
Kam Duho

"What is your… problem?" 𝘏𝘦 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘥, 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘭.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 didn’t answer. Instead, she glanced at 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻, walked straight over to him, grabbed his hand, and pulled him toward the door.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
"Let’s go."

Kang Youngil

"..Hm."

The classroom was quiet after most students left. Only the 𝙆 𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜 stayed behind.
𝗝𝗶𝘆𝘂 sat next to 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼, carefully patting his wet shirt dry.

A slow grin spread across each of their faces. They didn’t ask for details. They didn’t need to.

"Teacher, why didn’t some of our names get called?"

But 𝗛𝘆𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗯𝗶𝗻 jumped in.
Kim Hyeonbin

"Let me guess—those whose names weren’t called have to dodge the ball?" 𝘏𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘯.
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 paused, then nodded.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
"That’s right. Those whose names I called will throw. The rest will dodge."
The left side lit up with excitement, especially the 𝙆 𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜. On the right side, some looked worried.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 stood still for a moment, then turned her head toward 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼. His gaze locked onto her. He didn’t blink, didn’t smile—until suddenly, he smirked.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 clenched her fist, staring right back at him.
--
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 blew the whistle.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
"And… start!"
The left side—those throwing—immediately launched balls into the air. Laughter mixed with shouts as the game began. Some students dodged with ease, others were clumsy and worried.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 stayed light on her feet, weaving between the flying balls. But then she noticed—where was 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻?
Her eyes scanned the court. There—standing in the middle, motionless, like the game wasn’t even happening.
Ahead of 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻, 𝗝𝗼𝗼𝗻 grinned and drew his arm back, ready to throw. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹’𝘀 heart skipped.
In one quick motion, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 grabbed 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻’𝘀 hand and yanked him toward her. 𝗝𝗼𝗼𝗻’𝘀 throw 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
"Focus," 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘑𝘢𝘦𝘩𝘺𝘶𝘯 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮𝘭𝘺.
𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 blinked, surprised. But he didn’t move much.
When he just stood there again, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 took his hand a second time and pulled him behind her.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
"Don’t just stand there. Stay behind me and follow where I go. I’ll 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵 you," 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥.
He 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 it again. He didn’t reply. Didn’t even seem to listen.
Across the court, 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼 had a ball in his hand, eyes scanning for a target.
His gaze stopped on 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻—the easiest prey. He noticed how 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 was split between dodging balls and keeping 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 safe.
When 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 wandered away from 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 side again, 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼 smirked.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
"Jaehyun, are you listening? Jaehyun?" 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥, 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘮.

Kang Youngil
"No!" 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 dashed forward, stepping in front of 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 just as the ball slammed into her back.
Kang Youngil
Kang Youngil
"Wow… that hit…" 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥.
The impact sharp and heavy. Sweat stung her eyes. Her knees wavered—and then she toppled forward onto 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻.
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸’𝘀 whistle shrilled.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
"Everyone, stop!"
The 𝙆 𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜 looked at 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼, wide-eyed at the power in his throw. Even 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼 seemed a little surprised—but his face stayed unreadable.
𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 rushed over.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
"Are you okay, Youngil?"
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 didn’t answer. Her eyes stayed on 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 for just a moment—no, not long, but enough to notice something in his face.
Teacher Park
Teacher Park
"Youngil!" 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦.

The game resumed.
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 sat in silence, watching 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 dodge balls.
Her heart suddenly beat faster. She looked away, trying to calm it.

Their eyes met. She froze, then quickly looked at someone else, pretending to be busy.
But 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻 didn’t look away… not until a ball hit him softly and he was out.
As he walked over, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 caught herself smiling—just a small one.
He sat next to her. For a while, neither of them said anything. Then,
Myung Jaehyun

"...Earlier—"
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 quickly covered his mouth with her hand.

"That was an accident. I got hit by a ball, that’s why I fell," 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥, 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘱 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘮.
Slowly, she pulled her hand away, looking away from him.
.
The game on the court carried on like nothing happened, but 𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼’𝘀 mind was somewhere else.
Even though he was standing there with the ball in his hands, he wasn’t really playing anymore.
His eyes kept drifting to 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 and 𝗝𝗮𝗲𝗵𝘆𝘂𝗻, sitting side by side on the bench, talking quietly.
𝗗𝘂𝗵𝗼’𝘀 jaw tightened. Without warning, he tossed the ball toward 𝗝𝗶𝘆𝘂.
