Suddenly, they were convinced and gave her a standing ovation.

”Can you start on Monday?” The Head of the Law Firm asked feeling concerned.

”I am sorry but, I still need to move in fully. I am still for where I could stay.” Tama said respectfully as she slowly lowered her head.

The Head of the Law Firm confirmed that she would be given a company house andd car.

But then during a meeting, where different lawyers argued on which plan would be safer and more effective.

Tama, now an intern in the firm, a cute but sophisticated black woman who was still new in this field, raised her hand to offer a suggestion.

“Maybe if we do a finger scan on the neck of the victim, since her mother claimed that she wouldn’t leave her room or shower, saying that she wanted to rot in her room. So that means that the victim may have not had a bath to wash off the finger prints.”She said as she then lowered her hand.

All of the staff, lawyers, Board and most especially The Head of the firm were astonished and immediately used her idea.

After the case was closed and justice was served everyone thanked Tama for her support and she was then promoted from being an intern to a full time lawyer. Her new colleagues, the Board of Directors, The Head of the Firm and her parents congratulated her.

Tama was now snuggled in her bed, while scrolling through her phone searching for great places to visit in Amsterdam.

She was so mesmerized by all the intriguing spots that she was tempted to start writing a shopping list. But then sleep caught up with her and she dropped her phone beside her and slept off dreaming about the places she will see there and even her very handsome client.

Arguing over spilled coffee; You again?!

The next morning, colleague—who was also a friend—offered to drop her off at the airport. As the plane took off Tama’s heart raced with a little of adventure and expectation as she hoped for a win in this case.

As she got to her hotel room, she immediately threw her bags on the bed, then ran to the balcony. She stared out onto the city in amazement and the beautiful and bustling sight.

In the afternoon, she then decided to go to the nearest café for a treat, as she sat at a table close to the window. She stared at the view, enjoying hot cream latte, sipping it as slowly as she could and she then thought to herself,

—let me try that vendor—

Now she was walking with a nice cream coffee, looking mesmerized by every place she passed, she thought to herself,

—I’m so grateful for this opportunity to work in Netherlands—

She then sign in content as if all the burden she thought she felt was lifted. She turned and decided to walk backwards looking up at the café banners, she abruptly turned and bump into a tall, fit, well-off looking, breathtakingly handsome man who looked like he was in his early 30’s, spilling coffee all over his all-white outfit.

Tama then met his icy blue eyes and icy cold stare, she stood captivated by his luscious features and gorgeous red hair.

Lots of words she stood dumbfounded in the awkward silence.

Suddenly gets herself, then apologizes, but the man angrily shoves her off, his face twisted with rage.

“What were you going? You clumsy African” The man said while horridly looking at his shirt,

“Excuse me?! I’m not clumsy and I won’t be insulted. I’m a lawyer.”Tama said feistily her teeth gritted in anger.

Immediately, they both engaged in a heated argument, that drew attention to them.

“You’re just a primitive lawyer from a third-world country.” The man sneered at her, giving no her a once-over.

“How dare you—

“Cos I dare to!” He snapped.

“I’ll have you know that I am a highly respected lawyer!” She scoffed in anger.

“Well, I don’t care!” He countered which made her really pissed.

Tama then stormed off, leaving the man looking annoyed, but she couldn’t care less. How she hated rude and proud men who think no one else can match up to them.

—I’ll never forgive that arrogant man and I hope I never bump into him again!—

Later that night, she laid on her bed, reviewing her client’s case, Mr. Nicholas Vermilion, and how she could arrange the evidence that was given to her.

After a few minutes, she fell asleep with her tablet in her hands, papers scattered all around her on her bed and a pen in her hair as the dim warm lights casted on her face and the faint sound of rain dropplets drummed the window creating a calm vibe for her to sleep soundly.

After three days, Tama got to thee courtroom looking confident and professional, and ready to win the case which she was sure she was going to do.

As she laid her bag on the table to bring out her laptop, her evidence and other files. She spots her client, but then she was suddenly taken aback when she noticed that her client, Mr. Nicholas Vermilion, was her adversary from three days ago.

He strolled into the courtroom with a large entourage who were all in black, including Mr. Nicholas.

He too was also taken by surprise immediately he saw who his lawyer was.

“Clumsy African?!” Nicholas exclaimed in a horrid tone.

“You’re… Nicholas Vermilion?!” Tama asked looking stunned.

“The one and only.” He smirked as he examined her face. “Get that look off your face, looking surprised doesn’t suit you.” He said as sat in the chair beside hers.

Tama then composed herself and confidently turned immediately the judge came in. Then she began defending Nicholas against the prosecutor’s accusations.

“Your Honor, the prosecutor’s evidence is circumstantial at best.” Tama said with so much certainty, directing her gaze to the judge with both courage and respect.

Nicholas was then secretly impressed by her work, and after a long disagreement between the lawyer for the prosecutors and Tama, she finally won the case, and Nicholas was acquitted.

He congratulated her in a reluctant manner.

“Thanks, I guess.” He murmured grumbling.

“Just doing my job.” Tama shrugged in a confident manner as she left the courtroom, looking satisfied. Nicholas watched her, with a mixture of emotions on his face.

‘I’m glad that’s over, now let’s enjoy this holiday.’ Tama thought excitedly as she let out a soft sigh.
