Keats was his usual self, or you could say his self which he showed to everyone else: the easygoing guy with 3 braincells at most, joking around with his friends in the classroom and throwing paper planes at the teacher.

The teacher too, was his usual self: bored and uninterested. Looking at everyone as if he won't mind if each one of these students dropped dead right now. He was speaking about world history which Keats swore, sounded just like blayblamBritainglombla.

In the very same class, June sat at the very back, knowing in his heart that this time too, he would have to self-study world history as this professor would not be of any help at all. Thinking about how late he would have to stay up to study made him sigh.

The class soon ended and everyone rushed out to finally breathe an air of relief. Keats decided to drop by the library to search for Ada Limon's 'Bright dead things'. The thought of reading the book in the comfort of his room made him happy.

June thought about borrowing all the books related to world history from the library. The library was on of the only places where he could truly relax from people's gazes. From a yonger age, June would feel terribly uncomfortable whenever he felt eyes on himself. At times he even froze as his hands got covered in cold sweat, the feeling of dread tightening his chest.

He rushed to the library, took all the needed books, and sat at the furthermost corner, near the window. He closed his eyes to listen to the sweet chirping of birds. At the same time, Keats finished his search for the book and started looking for a seat where lesser people were around.

While looking for the seat, his eyes fell on a strange boy sitting by the window with his eyes closed. He moved towards him, quietly so to not disturb the guy. He took a seat right in front of him.

Sensing this, June quickly opened his eyes only to find a guy looking at him strangely. a light red crept in his cheeks as he looked at this complete stranger, whose eyes didn't feel threatening but full of tenderness. He dropped his eyes.

"If you don't mind me asking, who are you?", asked Keats, his curious eyes boring deep into this stranger.

"Uh, I'm June. I'm in the same class as you," a small voiced June aswered back.

Keats' curiousity grew as he searched his memory for this guy but nothing came up. There's no way his eyes could have missed this guy sitting in the same class as him. This strange June guy was actually quite hard to skip over, with his caramel skin and protuding cheeks, Keats found his heartbeat quickening. He looked away.

"I don't think I've ever seen you before though. Do you have any friends?" Keats asked.

"I don't have any friends for now. I want to focus solely on my studies." June shot back, taken back by this stranger's rudeness.

June never had friends, the closest he had to a friend was his study partner in first year lf highschool. He never saw the guy again after that year.

When he saw people hanging around with their friends, a strange feeling of envy arose in his heart. He too, wanted someone he could confide in, someone he could talk about all the things he has never told anyone. That never happened though, he was always by himself, always busy with his studies and part-time jobs.

"Well, now you do. I'm Keats." Keats replied with a smile on his face. June's sad averted eyes, looking outside the window made Keats' heart ache.

June, shocked, met Keats' eyes as Keats got up to leave. "See you soon", said Keats, with his bright smile directed at June, shocking him even further.

June felt himself nodding at his words, a small smile spreading across his face. He had made a new friend.

The next day, June went to school as usual, yesterday's events still fresh in his mind. He had been thinking a lot about Keats, about how he had never properly noticed him. He wondered why Keats showed sudden interest in him, even when he was his plain usual self. He sighed, thinking so much gave him a headache.

He placed his books in his locker and moved for the first class, which was english. He remembered that Keats too, was in this class, and upon thinking this, he felt a lot more nervous suddenly.

He moved towards the class, and opened the door. He found himself to be the first one to arrive which wasn't anything new. Arriving first meant that he would not attract a lot of attention, and for that he was glad.

Keats had arrived at the school earlier than he usually did, which was shocking, atleast to him. He was kept up for most the night by thinking of a certain boy. He thought about what he would say when he'd see him during class. Should he wave? But waving was kinda boring and the boring is the last thing he wanted to appear. Maybe he's just say "hey", like he did to his friends, but then again, hey was kinda boring as well.

He moved towards the class after dropping by his locker. Opening the door, the first person he saw was June, with his eyes closed and earphones in, he seemed to be at peace. Looking at him, Keats too, felt peaceful, as if time had slowed down just a little.

June opened his eyes and found Keats looking right at him. No one else was in the class. He blushed, "Hey", he breathed out in a small voice.

"Hey", Keats replied, his voice distant as if he his mind was somewhere else. He shook his head a little and realized how he sounded. A bright pink crept up his neck in embarrassment. He tried to hide it by asking again, "You're quite early", trying to flash his cool smile. You're quite early? Really? Where did that even come from?

"I'm always the first one to enter the class", replied June, truthfully.

"I'm quite the opposite", Keats muttered sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

"I've noticed", June smiled.

Keats found himself smiling back at him, not his cool smile he flashed to everyone, but one which was genuine.

"Want to go grab something to eat after school?", Keats found himself asking, yet again. He didn't exactly know why he'd asked that himself but he decided to go along with it.

June was taken aback by this sudden question. He wasn't really doing anything after school, and for some reason he felt relaxed with Keats, which he hadn't felt with anyone in years.

"Sure", he said, with a small smile. He truly was terrible at communicating. Keats smiled back, a little excited rising in his chest. The classroom door opened and Keats friends along with other students entered. Keats diverted his attention to his friends and June went back to his music, Tchaikovsky's Le Cygne, filling his ears with its soft melancholic melody. A small smile never leaving his face.

As soon as June left the school building, he saw Keats standing there. His eyes met with Keats' and he sent a small nod in his way. He was here to pick June up. June still had no idea about where they were going.

Keats motioned for June to follow him. They started to move away from the school building, side by side. Their hands accidentally brushing against each other, slightly. June looked at Keats and Keats looked right back at him. There was something about him that made June stare at him. It was different when their eyes met. A weird state of calm.

"Where are we going?" June decided to ask.

"Its a secret" Keats smiled a small smile.

June really was bad with suspence but he decided to quietly follow Keats.

Soon, after walking for about 15 minutes, they reached an abandoned park which was located in an almost abandoned side of the town. June looked at Keats with confusion.

"Welcome to my small world. Here, its just me and the sky. My piece of sky." Keats said, a smile so otherworldly that June had never seen on him. He knew instantly how important this place was to Keats. He smiled back.

"But why did you decide to bring me here? Aren't I intruding in your small world."

"No you're not", Keats replied quickly, then averted his eyes downwards; "I've decided to share this small piece of sky with someone afterall, it would be selfish to have this beautiful sky all for myself," a small smile played on his lips.

June hadn't felt such happiness in a long time. He almost ached with happiness. No one had ever shared something important to them with him and although he wasn't sure why Keats decided to do so and what any of this even meant, he decided to just live in the moment. He was there and Keats was there and the small piece of sky was their's and that's all that mattered, for now.

They sat on the grass and looked upwards, towards the sky. A feeling of contentment rising in their chests.

Keats looked at the boy beside him, with his face lit up with the last bits of sunlight. Keats looked at him when he put his hands up in the air, to feel the sunlight against his skin. Keats looked at how beautiful the boy looked, how golden and otherworldly his face looked, how his hands were holy in the sunlight. Keats did not understand what was going inside of him but he decided to brush it off.

"Its like everything in my mind has become less noisy", June said, his honeyed voice made something inside Keats ache. It was a sweet ache, filled with longing. A longing for what is something neither of them knew.

Soon, the sun went down. The sky, red for some moment. Then the dark blue came and engulfed the sky. Both of them watched it all happen. It was like watching the sunset with new eyes when you watch it together with someone.

Neither of them said a word. Sometimes, it was okay to not speak. The silence was sweet and no words were required between them.
