The sky outside is gray, washed in silver light from early rain.
Inside — clean lines, quiet elegance. The kind of silence that listens.
Jackson stands at the tall window, black suit pressed, jaw sharp, hands in his pockets.
He doesn’t look up when the office door clicks open.
J-HOPE steps in, tray in hand. Two coffees. Perfect posture, but a little tired in the eyes.

JACKSON turns slowly. Eyes flick to the tray. Then back to J-Hope.
He takes the black coffee. Sips. Pauses.

Looks down. Regrets showing.

He walks past him. The scent of expensive cologne brushes the air between them.
No one says what they’re really thinking.

Machines hum softly. The copier whirs. Paper slides.
J-Hope waits, head slightly lowered, fingers tapping against the edge of the table.

He closes his eyes for a second.

[CONFERENCE ROOM – 12:45 PM]
The weekly strategy meeting. Staff seated, laptops open.
Jackson stands near the screen, sleeves folded just enough to show veins.
JUNGKOOK, business partner, leads a slide.
Ten, Karina, Jake, and Wonyoung take notes.
J-HOPE sits beside Jackson, silent as always. His pen glides. Their arms almost touch.
Jackson leans slightly, his voice low.

“Your writing’s shaky today.”(barely audible)
J-Hope stiffens slightly. Looks down at the page.

“I didn’t sleep well.”(quiet)
Jackson says nothing. But his hand clenches on the armrest.
Later — as the meeting ends, Jackson closes his notebook slowly.

J-Hope looks up, startled. But Jackson is already walking out.
The building is mostly empty now. The elevator hums downward.
Jackson stands beside J-Hope. One step apart.
So close — the heat from Jackson’s arm is almost a touch.
-Hope shifts, weight slightly leaning from exhaustion.
Jackson notices. His hand twitches.
Just before the doors close—

J-Hope turns, surprised. Their eyes meet again — briefly, painfully.

He exits — heartbeat loud in his chest.
The floor is quiet. Most staff have left.
J-Hope stays behind, reorganizing files in the cabinet.
From Jackson’s office window, he watches.

He stays so late. Works so hard. Smiles at everyone but me.
But I can’t… ruin this.

Jackson looks down at the cold black coffee on his desk — untouched.

J-Hope is now in his soft clothes, on a beanbag, laughing on a video call.
On screen: Tae, Jimin, and a few others — his close best-friend group.
