Held by Two Worlds

chapter 1 ; lavender awakening

NOTE : this is not full omegavers story

...----------------...

The scent of lavender pulled him from the dark. NOA blinked slowly the blur of his surrounding sharpening into soft morning light. He was lying on actual bed not the cold floor he'd grown used to. The sheets where warm, the blanket ticked around him, and the air smelled sweet. Not chemical or sharp... just lavender his breath hitched.

He said up too quickly. The unfamiliar room tilted for a moment, sunlight spilling through sheer white curtains, casting golden shapes over pale wooden floors. Everything was gentle, quiet. The room had soft corners, a chair with a cushion, A low table holding a steaming mug, and plants -real plant by the window there were no scent of fear.no collar around his neck, no walls, not the kind he remember.

" Where am I?"

Finger gripped the blanket, too clean warm, too safe." It couldn't be real" just then the door opened with a soft knock. NOA froze a man stepped inside - as stranger, tall and kind eyed, with hair the color of honey and a voice like sunlight. "Ah you awake"

NOA didn't move his heartbeat thundered. His body stayed curled ready to flee, but there was no command barked, no threat in the man's stance. Just ..... curiosity.

" I didn't mean to startle you" the man said softly.

"You were in the lavender. Do you remember?"

Noa's eyes flickered to him. He didn't. The man placed a hand over his chest almost sheepishly "I'm Ari. This is my home"

Noa didn't speak. The words felt heavy unless in his mouth he'd stopped using them long ago.

Ari smile didn't fade "you don't have to say anything. I just wanted you to know- you're safe here that word again safe. Noa wanted to laugh or scream instead his eyes burned. Ari didn't press him. He stepped back, letting the space breathe" there's warm tea if you like. I can give you some time alone".

noa throat ached. He managed the smallest nod and Ari true to his word give him space. The door clicked gently shut leaving behind silence and lavender sweet air.

Noa pulled the blanket lighter around himself, staring at the spot where Ari had stood. His wrists bare his scent gone

His eyes widened "gone"

The omega scent he'd been cursed with all his life - it was gone just like that. His body felt lighter, his soul-

Unfamiliar and for the first time in years NOA didn't know what he was anymore. Not omega, not property, not even himself just a boy wrapped in soft blanket, sitting in a strangers house, in a world that smelled like lavender a quiet world, a warm one, one that had n o idea who he was or what he had survived.

Tears slid down his cheeks before he could stop them. Silent, salted may be he was dreaming or may be by some twist of fate, he had fallen into a different world and may be he didn't have to go back.

lavender and silence

The sun was gentler that morning filtered through pale curtains like a hesitant blessing. NOA sat curled on the edge of the bed one hand clutching the soft blanket ARI had ticked around him the night before. He hadn't slept well.

Every time he closed his eyes, something from his world tied to claw back in. The lavender helped, faint and grounding, but it wasn't enough to chase anything.

The world outside the window was too quiet. No walls. No scent of alphas in heat. No marks on his skin just the strange terrifying stillness of freedom.

NOA fingers twitched.

...He didn't understand where he was or why this world didn't treat him Like he was cursed....

Noa didn't look up right away, but he recognized the steps "good morning" ARI said, his voice quite a hum that reminded NOA of warm tea on cold day "did you sleep alright?"

Noa didn't answer not because he was being rude. Words...just didn't come easily. ARI didn't push he stood by the doorway giving NOA space, holding something in his hands. A tray.

"I thought you might like something warm" he said "porridge and tea. It's sweet I promise". Still NOA didn't move his eyes were on the floor but ARI could see the flicker of something in them-fear may be or hesitation. "Can I leave it here?" ARI asked gently placing the tray on a small table by the bed when NOA gave the faintest nod. He turned to go, sensing NOA's quiet tension but just as he reached the door, a soft voice, hoarse and unsure followed him.

"Thankyou"

ARI paused and smile.

The door clicked shut behind him and NOA exhaled slowly. The scent of the porridge was comforting. Cinnamon and honey. He hadn't tasted sweetness like that in ... He couldn't remember when.

Later that morning, the sky darkened with the summer rain. NOA walked barefoot into the garden, drawn by the lavender field just beyond the cottage. The wind was brushed through the plants like a song.

He sat near the lavender pressing his fingers to the soft petals.

"You like lavender" ARI voice came from behind. NOA started" you keep sneaking up" he muttered. ARI chuckled "sorry"

NOA glanced up "it's quite here" ARI sat on a nearby bench "that's why I moved here. The city was too loud".

NOA looked at him, head tilting"you left everything for quite?"

" I think I was looking for peace" ARI's eyes were gentle" and now I think you're looking for the same".

NOA didn't reply but his shoulder slowly eased.

They sat in silence for a while then, out of nowhere, NOA whispered,

" in my world... I didn't get to choose anything".

ari turned towards him, expression softening.

"I was born....a certain way that made people decide things for me, my life, my place, my worth" he plucked a strand of lavender. " I ran, i broke and now I'm here"

ari's voice was barely audible "you're safe now".

Noa didn't answer, but his finger curled tightly around the lavender.

That evening, as the rain began to fall, slow, lazy drops ARI offered something unexpected

"I have friend" he said "someone who owns a company. He's distant, but he's good with people like you-people who need space to stand on their own".

NOA frowned "you want to send me away?"

"No" ARI shook his head "I want to give you a choice. You don't have to stay here and be protected. You can earn build your own life....if that's what you want"

Noa throat tightened"no one ever give that before".

ari's eyes softened "then may be it's time and you can stay here as long as you want".

I want to try

NOA

I woke up before sun. The room was quiet, and the lavender scent still clung to the sheets. I sat there on the bed, holding the blanket in the hands.

I didn't know what was wrong with me or may be ... I did.

I wanted to do something.

Not because someone told me to. Not because I had but because I wanted to try.

I wanted....to work.

It was strange thought.

Back then, in the world I came from, work isn't a choice. It was something force on me something I had to survive. But this felt different. I wasn't scared here and may be, if I try, I could learn how to live on my own feet just a little.

ARI made breakfast like always soft eggs, warm toast and the tea that smelled like peace. He smiles at me when I came in, like he almost does. Like he's happy just I exist.

But I couldn't meet his eyes

I sat down picked up the tea put it back.

"Noa?" he said gently "something on your mind?"

I nodded then I spoke "I want to try working". He paused I think I surprise him.

"I know I'm safe here, and I'm thankful" I said quickly. "But I don't want to keep hiding. I want to earn something even if it's small even if I mess up".

I was scared not of ARI but of myself.

What If i wasn't strong enough? But ARI didn't laugh he didn't look worried, either. He looked.....proud.

"I understand" he said softly "you're not a burden, NOA. You were never but if you're ready... I'll talk to Lucien again"

I looked up my hands were still shaking but I nodded.

"Please"

Later, I stood near the window while ARI made a phone call he was speaking in the other room but I could still hear parts of it. My chest felt tight. Was this a mistake?

I gripped the window sill. Outside, the wind was dancing through the lavender. Everything looked the same, but I didn't feel the same.

I was scared but I also felt something else.

Hope

ARI came back, a soft smile on his face "he said yes" he told me. My heart thudded in my chest.

Lucien said yes. I didn't know why that made me feel something may be because someone believe I could.

I was afraid but also felt brave. Just a little.

I used to believe the world was bigger than pain. That was before everything was taken. Before the name "omega" become a collar around my throat.

Everything time I touch warm tea cup or smell of lavender in the hallway I remember how quickly things could have taken away. Back in my world that world kindness always had a prize. I had trusted once I learned. I don't want to feel useless any more not again.
