Tackle My Heart
Collision Course
Yeonhwa City Shopping Center – Late Afternoon
Lee Jae-hyun is sweaty, in his rugby jacket and headphones, pushing a cart recklessly through the frozen food aisle. He’s texting Do-yun with one hand, eating a popsicle with the other. Zero awareness of his surroundings.
CRASH.
He slams into someone.
The cart rattles. The popsicle hits the floor in slow motion.
Jae-hyun looks up — already about to say something stupid — until he locks eyes with a sharp-suited boy around his age. Cold eyes. Hair slicked back. Aura of death and elegance.
Lee Jae-hyun
You’re hot. Are you real?
The boy adjusts his sleeve wordlessly and gives Jae-hyun a look that could freeze time. Then he walks off like nothing happened.
Lee Jae-hyun
(yelling after him)
Lee Jae-hyun
I’m Jae-hyun, by the way! You gonna marry me or sue me?!
Yeonhwa High School – The Next Morning
Morning announcements. Han Areum and Jung Hae-in are standing side by side at the podium. Tension. They’re wearing matching uniforms, but Areum is beaming while Hae-in looks like she hasn’t slept.
Han Areum
Today’s theme is unity and teamwork!
Han Areum
(steals a look at Hae-in)
Han Areum
…especially between council members
Jung Hae-in
Please stop flirting on the intercom.
Areum smirks. The school buzzes with whispers.
Meanwhile, Jae-hyun bursts into class late — and freezes.
Lee Jae-hyun
(under his breath)
Lee Jae-hyun
God really said surprise bonus level.
My Homeroom
Jae-hyun is still frozen in the doorway, mouth slightly open, as if he’s seeing a ghost — a hot, hostile ghost in a school uniform.
Nam Do-yun
(from his desk)
Nam Do-yun
Are you going to move, or are you just going to stare at the new guy like a creep?
Lee Jae-hyun
That’s not a guy.
Lee Jae-hyun
That’s going to be my husband.
Do-yun sighs so hard he practically deflates.
Min-joon, meanwhile, doesn’t even glance up. He flips a page in his textbook and ignores the whispers spreading across the classroom.
Teacher
Class, please welcome our new student, Seo Min-joon. I’m sure you’ve all heard of his family business—
Seo Min-joon
(without looking up)
Seo Min-joon
There’s no need for introductions. I’m not here to socialize.
Jae-hyun, undeterred, slides into the seat right next to him. Do-yun drags his chair forward one space in preparation for disaster.
Everyone’s whispering about the mysterious CEO-in-uniform, seated alone like royalty in a public food court. Jae-hyun carries his tray over like he owns the place.
Lee Jae-hyun
Mind if I sit? Just kidding. I’m already sitting.
Min-joon lifts his eyes slowly. He doesn’t respond — just goes back to eating his rice.
Lee Jae-hyun
Look, I know what you’re thinking.
Lee Jae-hyun
Who’s this annoyingly handsome guy trying to charm me with food and rugged sports appeal?’
Lee Jae-hyun
(leans closer)
Lee Jae-hyun
But don’t worry. You’ll fall for me eventually. Everyone does.
Seo Min-joon
Is this harassment?
Lee Jae-hyun
(grinning wider)
Lee Jae-hyun
Only if you say no.
Seo Min-joon
I already did.
Lee Jae-hyun
Wow. Brutal. I like it.
In the background, Do-yun is face-palming. Areum, seated with Hae-in, is glaring across the cafeteria.
Han Areum
Why is Jae-hyun flirting with a future felon?
Jung Hae-in
Why do you care?
Hae-in raises an eyebrow. Areum quickly looks away.
Offended, and On the Field
Yeonhwa High – Morning Practice Field
It’s early. The field is wet with dew. Jae-hyun is stretching with the rugby team, but his eyes keep drifting toward the school building.
Nam Do-yun
(grunting mid-stretch)
Nam Do-yun
You’re gonna twist your neck looking for someone who doesn’t like you.
Lee Jae-hyun
He doesn’t not like me. He just doesn’t know how to handle me yet.
Lee Jae-hyun
I’m an acquired taste. Like kimchi-flavored popcorn.
Nam Do-yun
You’re a walking lawsuit.
Classroom – Later That Morning
Min-joon enters the classroom. His uniform is perfect, tie centered, expression unreadable. Jae-hyun beams the moment he walks in and pats the seat next to him.
Lee Jae-hyun
Hey, stranger. Miss me?
Seo Min-joon
You speak as if we had a relationship to miss.
Lee Jae-hyun
We have a destiny to fulfill. That’s way deeper.
Min-joon doesn’t respond. But his eyes flick briefly to Jae-hyun’s bruised arm — a leftover from rugby — before he looks away.
Student Council Room – Same Time
Areum is organizing documents, trying to focus, but keeps stealing glances at Hae-in, who’s quietly typing minutes on her laptop.
Han Areum
Hae-in... were you serious yesterday? About me flirting?
Jung Hae-in
(without looking up)
Han Areum
(cheeks flushing)
Han Areum
Then maybe I should be serious too.
Hae-in pauses typing. Slowly looks up.
Jung Hae-in
Try it. But don’t half-ass it.
Areum’s heart is practically slamming against her chest — but she nods.
Min-joon walks in, tray in hand. His usual seat is taken. He scans the room.
Across the cafeteria, Jae-hyun waves him over like they’re lifelong besties.
Lee Jae-hyun
(calling out)
Lee Jae-hyun
Come sit with me!
Min-joon hesitates.
The room watches. Whispers start.
Finally — without a word — Min-joon walks over and sits across from Jae-hyun.
Nam Do-yun
Oh no. He wants the chaos now.
End of the Day – Courtyard
Min-joon is standing alone, waiting for his driver. Jae-hyun jogs up beside him, still in his sports gear.
Lee Jae-hyun
Hey. Wanna come to a game this weekend? You can scowl at everyone. I’ll find it sexy.
Seo Min-joon
You don’t give up.
Lee Jae-hyun
Why would I? You’re worth the effort.
Min-joon glances at him for just a second longer than necessary.
Then his black car pulls up. He gets in without another word. The window rolls up.
But as the car drives off — Jae-hyun spots something
Min-joon is looking back through the tinted window.
Just for a second.
