Beneath The Crimson Veil
The scent of Silence 1
The rain never stopped in Black Hollow. It dripped down the stained glass windows of Hollowridge Academy like tears—silent, cold, and unwelcoming.
Jeon Jungkook adjusted his hood, walking through the iron gates that always seemed too tall and too watchful. He hated being here, but the scholarship was too generous, and the town too remote to question.
A rare, quietly dangerous thing to be in this part of the world—especially when you didn’t want to be found.
But Black Hollow had rules. And the elite students of Hollowridge had secrets.
He wasn’t just an Alpha. He was the Alpha.
The kind that never needed to speak too much. The kind whose presence rippled like shadows through the halls. No one knew where he came from. Only that he arrived mid-semester last year, silent and calm like death itself.
Rumor had it he never bit anyone. Never claimed. Never chased.
And yet his scent—dark sandalwood with a trace of winter ash—was known to make other Alphas uneasy and Omegas dizzy.
Jungkook avoided him at all costs. He kept his scent masked, his head down, and his heat-suppressants consistent. He didn’t want attention.
But that morning, as he entered the nearly empty library, the old wooden door creaked louder than usual.
And someone was already inside.
The scent of Silence 2
Sitting at the farthest table, completely alone, a black leather book in hand. He looked up, gaze slow and deliberate, eyes unreadable.
His scent rolled across the room like smoke.
Unfiltered. Intentional.
He hadn’t meant to walk in. Hadn’t meant to meet those eyes—cold, ancient, far too knowing.
Taehyung
You forgot to take your suppressant this morning
Taehyung said casually, turning another page of his book without looking up again.
Jungkook’s breath caught.
Jeon Jungkook
"How did he know?"
"...." means thinking in mind
Taehyung closed the book with a soft thump, then stood up.The distance between them evaporated in mere seconds.
Taehyung
You’re not like the others, Jungkook
His voice was low, melodic, dangerous.
Jeon Jungkook
I don’t know what you mean
Jungkook whispered, backing up until the bookshelves kissed his spine.
Taehyung leaned closer, nose grazing the Omega’s neck—not touching, just breathing.
Taehyung
There’s something inside you
Taehyung
Something broken. Something hunted
Jungkook’s heart pounded in his chest.
Jeon Jungkook
"Stay away from me" he breathed.
Taehyung gave a soft smile.
Taehyung
But you walked into my den, little rabbit.
And just like that, he was gone.Jungkook stood frozen, the scent of danger lingering in the air.He didn’t know yet that Taehyung was not merely an Alpha…
He was the reason Black Hollow never saw the sun.
The ones who don't speak
The next day, the rain let up, but the skies stayed bruised.
Hollowridge Academy’s gothic halls groaned under the weight of secrets and unsaid truths.
Jungkook sat at the far end of the mess hall, tray untouched. He hadn’t seen Taehyung again since yesterday, but the memory of his scent, his voice—it clung to him like frostbite.
Unknown
You’re sitting in the ghost corner
Jungkook turned, startled. A tall, broad-shouldered Alpha with round glasses and a dimpling smile dropped his tray beside him.
Kim Namjoon
Name’s Namjoon. You’re the transfer, right?
Before Jungkook could answer, another voice cut in—lighter, sharp-edged with dry humor.
Unknown
Namjoon, don’t scare the poor pup. He already looks like he’s been dragged through purgatory
A stunning Omega with ethereal beauty sat across from them. Pale skin, soft gaze, but with a strange knowing in his eyes.
Kim Seokjn
“Jin,” he added, sipping tea. “And yes, we’re together. In case you were wondering.”
Kim Seokjn
“It’s fine,” Jin cut in smoothly. “Everyone wonders.”
Another pair joined them, quieter in movement, but their aura louder than most. Yoongi, a cool-toned Beta with shadows under his eyes, slid next to Jin without a word. He barely looked at Jungkook.
Behind him, bouncing in like a summer storm, was Jimin. An Omega with honey hair and a dangerously flirtatious smile. He leaned across the table toward Jungkook.
Park Jimin
New and cute? I’m in trouble
Yoongi muttered, pulling him back by the collar. Jimin only giggled.
Then the doors flung open, and the hall went still.
Dark coat. Loosened tie. A glint of something sharp in his eyes. Beside him was Jung Hoseok, the Academy’s golden boy Alpha—sunshine smile, dancer’s body—and yet... his arm was wrapped protectively around someone new. Jackson. A transfer like Jungkook, but older. Foreign. And his presence? Too silent.
Jungkook met Jackson’s gaze for a split second—and felt something ancient crawl beneath his skin.
Taehyung’s eyes flicked to Jungkook as he passed. Just one glance. And yet... Jungkook couldn’t breathe.
Namjoon cleared his throat
Kim Namjoon
You should be careful around him
Jungkook asked, voice low.
Kim Seokjn
“No,” Jin whispered
