《Reiyal Wills Point Of View 》
2014
I saw my mom crying all night when she found out about my dad’s affair. I was only 9 years old when my mom hired a private detective to find out about my dad’s affair. My mom thought it was just a fling, but my dad was actually in love with that woman—her name was Luna. My dad and Luna even had a son together; I don’t know his name, but I heard he’s very smart and is 12 years old now.
After my mom found out all this, she filed a case against my dad in court for adultery. Even though my dad always took care of me and my mom and never let us lack anything, my mom still filed the case.
I was too young to understand much. After the case was filed and my dad got the notice, he cut off all ties with us. My dad’s name is Kim Sang, and my mom’s name is Nicole Wills.
Anyway, I haven’t seen my dad since that day. My mom was the CEO of Sky Tech Company. In just one year, she taught me everything about hacking, advanced technology, and modern programming—I don’t know why she did that.
Meanwhile, the court case for my parents’ divorce was still going on. My mom was asking for alimony along with the divorce, but my dad didn’t want to pay. My dad wasn’t as rich as my mom; he was just a regular employee in my mom’s company, and Luna was his coworker.
On July 10, 2015, my mom’s divorce was finally about to happen, and my dad was supposed to pay 20 lakhs as alimony. My mom and I were sitting in the backseat of the car on our way to court when suddenly another car hit ours very hard. My mom hugged me tightly to her chest to protect me—her life meant everything to me.
I don’t remember what happened after that. I lost consciousness.

NICOLE’S DEATH
Reiyal’s eyelids flutter open, the sterile white of the hospital room blurring into focus. Her head throbs, and the sharp scent of antiseptic stings her nose. Her grandmother, Nazia, sits slumped in a chair beside the bed, her fingers trembling as they cradle Reiyal’s delicate hand. Nazia’s eyes are red-rimmed and swollen, her cheeks streaked with dried tears.
Reiyal feels weak, her forehead wrapped in a thick bandage, an IV needle taped to her forearm, and a plastic oxygen mask covering her mouth. She struggles to speak, her voice barely a whisper, her eyes half-lidded with exhaustion. “Grandma… where’s Mom?” she rasps, her heart pounding with dread.
Nazia’s eyes well up again, fresh tears spilling over. She lowers her head onto Reiyal’s hand, her shoulders shaking with silent sobs. “My child… your mother… she’s not with us anymore.”
The words hit Reiyal like a physical blow. Her world tilts, the room spinning. She can’t believe it—won’t believe it. With a sudden jerk, she pulls her hand free, clutching her chest as if to steady her racing heart. Her face twists in denial and anger. “No, Grandma, that’s not possible! Mom wouldn’t leave me. No, no, no!” Her voice cracks, rising in desperation.
Nazia lifts her head, her gaze locking onto Reiyal’s. The pain of losing a daughter is raw in her voice. “It’s true, Reiyal.” Her words are heavy, each syllable weighed down by grief.
Reiyal struggles to sit up, her body shaking, her eyes burning with unshed tears. She stares at Nazia, searching for any sign that this is a cruel joke. “I want to see her, Nani. Just once. Please.”
Nazia hesitates, then nods slowly. She reaches into her purse, her hands unsteady as she pulls out her phone. She dials Reiyal’s grandfather, her voice trembling. “Reiyal is awake. She’s asking about Nicole… she wants to see her.”
A pause. The grandfather’s voice is gruff with sorrow. “I understand… but I don’t want her to be traumatized. Nicole’s body… it’s not in a condition to be seen.”
Nazia looks back at Reiyal, whose eyes haven’t left her face. Reiyal’s lips tremble as she silently pleads for an answer. Nazia holds out the phone. “Here, talk to him yourself.”
Reiyal’s hands shake as she takes the phone, pressing it to her ear. “Grandfather?” Her voice is small, fragile.
“Yes, Reiyal. Speak.”
“I want to see Mom. Nani says she’s… gone. I need to see her. Just one last time.” Tears stream down her cheeks, her breath coming in ragged gasps.
On the other end, the grandfather’s voice breaks. “My child, your mother… she’s not in a state to be seen. I’m so sorry.”
Reiyal’s resolve crumbles. She sobs openly, her body wracked with grief. “Please, Grandfather. I need to see her. Just once. Please.”
Her cries echo in the sterile room, a heartbreaking plea for closure in a world that’s been shattered.
Grenard’s heart shatters the moment he hears Reiyal cry for the first time. Over the phone, her sobs are raw and desperate, each one cutting deeper than the last. He has never heard her like this—no matter how tough things got, Reiyal always faced them with courage, her spirit unbroken. But today, the loss of her mother has broken her completely.
Nazia, helpless, takes the phone back from Reiyal, who collapses into her arms, burying her face in her grandmother’s shoulder. Her small body trembles violently, her cries muffled but unstoppable. Nazia holds her close, stroking her hair, her own eyes brimming with tears as she speaks into the phone, her voice thick with emotion: “Just let her see, Grenard. Look at how she’s suffering.”
There’s a heavy silence before Grenard finally replies, his voice choked, “Alright.” He ends the call, unable to bear the sound of his granddaughter’s grief any longer. In all these years, through every hardship, Reiyal had never shed a tear in front of him. But Nicole’s death has changed everything—Reiyal has lost not just her mother, but the center of her world.
For Grenard and Nazia, the pain of losing a daughter is unbearable. But for Reiyal, it feels as though her entire universe has ended. She clings to Nazia, her sobs echoing in the quiet hospital room, a child utterly shattered by loss.
Exhausted by crying Reiyal falls asleep, Nazia lay her down on bed, cover her tiny body with sheet. Nazia sit on chair and wips her face with handkerchief. Nazia’s hand slightly trembling. Reiyal is just 10 years old, how she will live without Nicole. This unanswered question keep provoking her heart.

REIYAL’S GRIEF
The mortuary of Stalen Hospital is cold and silent, the air thick with the scent of disinfectant and something heavier, unspoken. The clock on the wall reads 2:00 PM, but time feels frozen.
Nazia sits on a hard plastic chair, Reiyal still clinging to her, arms wrapped tightly around her grandmother’s waist, face buried in her chest. Nazia’s fingers stroke Reiyal’s hair, her own heart breaking with every shuddering breath the girl takes.
Grenard stands stiffly beside a metal stretcher. On it lies a body, covered head to toe in a crisp white sheet. The shape beneath is unmistakably human, but utterly still.
Reiyal’s sobs are the only sound in the room. Finally, she lifts her head, eyes red and swollen, voice trembling. “Grandfather… is this… my mom?” Her question is barely a whisper, but it fills the room.
Grenard can’t bring himself to speak. The sight of Reiyal—her hope, her fear—is too much. He simply nods, his jaw clenched, eyes damp.
Slowly, Reiyal disentangles herself from Nazia. Her legs feel weak as she approaches the stretcher. With shaking hands, she lifts the edge of the sheet, peeling it back just enough to see.
Nicole lies there, lifeless. Her eyes are closed, lips pale, skin almost translucent. A deep, brutal wound mars her chest—evidence of violence no child should ever witness.
Reiyal’s breath catches. For a moment, the world stops. Then, a wail tears from her throat. “MAA! MAA! NO, NO, MAA, PLEASE GET UP!” She throws herself onto the body, clutching her mother, shaking her, begging her to wake up. “Maa, say something! Maa, please! Maa! Maa!” Her cries are raw, primal, the sound of a soul being ripped apart.
Nazia turns away, unable to watch. She isn’t crying for Nicole now, but for Reiyal—for the unbearable pain radiating from her granddaughter. “Grenard, take her away. I can’t bear to see her like this,” she pleads, her voice breaking.
Grenard feels the same. He steps forward, his hands gentle but firm as he tries to pull Reiyal away. “Reiyal, Nicole is gone,” he says, his voice thick with grief.
Reiyal whirls on him, eyes blazing. “Shut up! My mother is NOT dead!” She points a trembling finger at him, defiance and denial twisting her face.
Grenard has no choice. He lifts Reiyal into his arms, her small body thrashing, fists pounding his back as she screams, “No! No! No!” He carries her out of the mortuary, Nazia following, her own tears falling silently.
Back in the hospital ward, doctors and nurses rush to help. Grenard lays Reiyal on the bed, but she fights, lost in her anguish. Nurses hold her arms and legs as the doctor prepares a sedative. With a quick injection, Reiyal’s struggles weaken, her cries softening into whimpers, then silence as sleep claims her.
The doctor turns to Grenard and Nazia, his expression grave. “Her condition is fragile. Don’t tell her yet that her mother was stabbed—it could break her completely.”
Grenard and Nazia exchange a look, hearts heavy. They nod in silent agreement, standing vigil over the sleeping girl, their own grief a silent storm beneath the surface.
