Episode 1
Yuna Akiyama quietly slipped into her classroom, clutching her books like a small shield. She had always been the type of person no one noticed.
At least, she used to be invisible.
Ever since the new seating arrangement last month, she found herself stuck beside Ren Hayashi. The school's golden boy. Handsome, popular, and a famous streamer on top of that. Everyone loved him.
Yuna? She wanted to bury him under ten feet of dirt.
Ren leaned back in his chair, spinning a pen lazily between his fingers. He glanced at her the moment she sat down and smirked.
Ren
You're late. Did you get lost in the hallway again?
Yuna
I was hoping you'd disappear before I arrived.
Ren laughed, tossing his pen onto her desk.
Ren
Wow. You actually talked back today. Did you eat something weird this morning?
Yuna
I almost lost my appetite just seeing your face.
A few classmates nearby snickered. Yuna’s ears burned, but she didn’t back down.
Ren
Don't be shy. You can look at me all you want
Yuna
I'd rather look at trash on the floor.
Ren
Ah! My heart! Someone call the nurse, she’s killing me!
Yuna
She should also check your brain. Might be missing.
He chuckled again, clearly enjoying every second of it. Yuna turned her head away and stared at the clock, wishing for the bell to ring.
Since elementary school, they had shared classrooms. But back then, they barely even spoke. Only after becoming seatmates did Ren starts to bully her.
Episode 2
The moment Yuna got home, she dropped her bag on the floor and headed straight to her room.
She didn’t even bother changing out of her uniform. Instead, she turned on her PC, feeling her mood lift the second she saw the glowing keyboard.
She sat down and cracked her knuckles.
At school, she was nobody. Here, she's a top-ranking player feared by anyone who dared to challenge her.
Yuna quickly logged in and checked her rank. It was still high. Just seeing it made her heart beat faster in excitement.
She clicked "Start Match" and leaned back, waiting for the queue.
A second later, she got paired with a random teammate. She glanced at the screen, and her eyes narrowed immediately.
"Teamed up with: ZeroRen"
She almost fell off her chair.
Yuna
Ren? Wait. No way. That can’t be him. There must be a million 'Ren' out there. Stupid common name.
She scowled at her screen.
Yuna
Annoying name… Even online I get haunted by him
She pulled her headset on and cracked her fingers again.
Yuna
Let’s see if this 'ZeroRen' can keep up with me.
Episode 3
The match loaded, and Yuna’s fingers hovered over her keyboard like a predator ready to strike.
Her eyes darted to the corner of the screen. ZeroRen’s character stood there, spinning in circles.
Yuna
Is this guy serious? Spinning around like a chicken…
Yuna
*muttering* Move properly, idiot.
Then, her screen lit up with a voice message from her new teammate.
ZeroRen
Yo! Try to keep up. I don’t want to carry a slow turtle today.
Yuna’s eyebrow twitched so hard it almost flew off her face.
Yun(team): "Carry? Who do you think you are? Watch yourself, you’ll be the one crying behind me."
ZeroRen
Woah~ A spicy one! I like it. Keep barking, little puppy.
Yuna
(PU–?! I’ll kill him. I will actually kill him.")🤬
She dashed ahead in-game, ignoring ZeroRen completely. She took down two enemies by herself in a clean combo.
Yun(team): "Shut up and don’t get in my way."
He just laughed through his mic, that smooth and annoying laugh echoing in her headset.
Despite all the insults, Yuna had to admit
Yuna dashed across the map, eyes locked on the enemy’s base. She didn’t even wait for ZeroRen — she was too mad to care.
But suddenly, a bright flash appeared beside her. ZeroRen’s character slid in smoothly, blocking an incoming attack aimed at her.
Yuna
What… He actually covered me?!
In a split second, they wiped out the entire enemy team.
The game flashed: TEAM WIPE! VICTORY!
She slammed her mouse down, ready to leave.
ZeroRen: "See you next match, Mr. Spicy Keyboard. Don’t miss me too much tonight."
