The night was long and cadaverous. The night was as silent as a grave the wind was also not blowing. It was a new moon night. But the strange atmosphere prevailed in the premises. In the darkness of the night the houses which stood seemed like mountain creases but the red-brick Victorian aristocractic Manor seemed doubtful, suspicious

The situation over there was stressful. From the inner manor the sound of running footsteps were coming. But what were they signalling? At the same time a woman's cry broke out expressing endured pain the sound echoed in the whole manor the sound grew thin and more thin and after a period of time the sound was heard no more

The only sound which can be heard was a new born's cry. The head maid dashed out of the room and went down stairs carrying a new born baby in her hand. At the downstairs where it was supposed to be a full trail of maids only a maid and the house butler stood.

'What happened?' the maid asked in distress

'Lady is no more!' the head maid replied

'What!' the maid exclaimed in despair

'Sir will be here soon ' the butler exclaimed wiping the sweat on his head

At the same time another woman's cry broke out expressing the same endured pain

'Is that Sarah?' the maid stood there asked

'Yes' the head maid replied

After a while a woman from behind the darkness came into flushed light holding a new born in her arms. The maid who stood there asked 'Sarah what happened? Why are you so quiet?'

Sarah not able to walk with wobbly feet fell down and cried helplessly screaming her lungs out ' Heng(sob) Heng(sob) my child (sob) ' said while shedding tears

'Sarah restrain yourself' said Heng holding the shoulder of Sarah

Heng took the new born from Sarah's hand while Sarah was still crying, the head maid dispatched the new born from her arms and gave it to Sarah

'Sarah look' the head maid said gently patting her head; Sarah took a glimpse at the new born and the new born was smiling at Sarah holding her finger Sarah tried to free her finger from the new born but new born's grip was strong Sarah smiled weeping her tears she held the new born in her arms

Sarah hugged the new born,everyone gave a pale smile and soon the new born fell asleep Sarah trying to forget her loss hugged the new born and kept the new born close to her chest

Suddenly the sound of footsteps are being heard

'Sir is here' the butler said

Soon a man appeared with an bloody attire. Blood was everywhere over his clothes like he was in a war

The atmosphere became cold and silent everyone bowed him

'Sir what happened?' the bulter asked

'Defeat' the man replied coldly

'No it can't be' Sarah said

The man noticed the new born and asked ' Is the new born.....'

'Yes Sir' the head maid said

It seemed the man was trying to hold his tears Sarah dispatched the new born and gave it to the man,the man took a glimpse of the new born

'Sir she is your daughter ' head maid said

'And Hanna?' he asked

'Sorry sir we couldn't save her while delivering she passed away ' the head maid said,she was also crying

Out of a sudden a loud noise was being heard they were shouting 'Alfred come out'

'Sir what will we do now?' the butler asked

'Sir what about the young Miss's future ?' the head maid asked

'The future is deadly ' the man replied

The man kissed his daughter's forehead and told ' Everyone will know that I never had a daughter '

Everyone was stunned to hear this and the man walked away..........

Eva's POV

When i woke up in the morning the sun was at it's centre shinning smoothly,the birds were singing happily and the leaves were swimming in the sky I knew i woke as late as usual so without any delay i entered the lavatory and jumped inside the bathtub. Then i took a dress out from my wardrobe and wore it and within seconds Butler Li was at my door 'Miss are you ready ? Master is waiting for you' and i replied yes and opened the door 'You look beautiful Miss.'

I smiled and then I went down the stairs. As usual dad was waiting for me to have breakfast.

Eva's dad POV

I heard Eva's footsteps and gestured the head maid to serve the breakfast 'Good morning dad' she wished me, i hummed and walked around her i stood beside her and started patting her head 'Did you again stayed up late reading books?' She nodded a yes 'you are like your mother she also liked reading books 'I replied and took out a chair and sat opposite of her and fixed her hair at the corner of her ear and said 'Don't stay up too late at night it will effect your eyes and brain. She said ok and took out a napkin and cleaned her mouth and asked me the most difficult question that I could never answer 'Dad who was my mom? what was her name?Please tell me something more about her'

Eva's POV

After i heard that i was much like my mother i wanted to know more about her my heart was craving to know about her because for 17 years i just know i had a mother i don't know her name i even don't know what she looked like so i asked dad to tell something more about my mom but he didn't uttered a single word after some few moments i asked 'dad?' he did no response 'Dad please tell me something more about her, my mother i want to know very badly' i asked with teary eyes and he began to shout at me 'How many times will i have to tell you that there are many things you need not to know?'

These all years;the seventeen years of my life i have never doubted my dad i just have followed what he have said but what i have done wrong is it illegal for a daughter to know about her mother and i raised my voice and asked dad 'Tell me is it illegal for a daughter to know about her mother i don't even know her name i don't even know that how she looks dad please tell me what i have done wrong for the past seventeen years i have stayed inside this house you have never even allowed me to cross the gate of this mansion why ? Why dad why? Why are punishing me for the sin which i have never done?' and i cried thoroughly hearing the words the dad broke the table and in an enraged tone told me ' Do you know why your mother died ? She died because of you -yes she passed when she was giving birth to you ,can you imagine how inauspicious you are!'

...I broke into tears and rushed upstairs towards my room...........

After hearing such words from her dad she broke into tears and rushed towards her room she closed the door and laid on her bed facing the pillow, she grabbed the bedsheets and bursted into tears and started questioning herself 'What (sob)i have (sob)done? why (sob) why(sob) the heaven (sob)is so cruel(sob) on me (sob) I am never(sob) allowed to(sob) go out (sob)like the other (sob)children (sob)why can't (sob)i lead (sob)a normal (sob) life like ( sob ) the other (sob)people at the same moment the words which her father said to her trailed into her mind and she started crying more 'Am i (sob)so inauspicious (sob) that i (sob)was the(sob)cause of my (sob)mot(sob)her's (sob)death! and curling herself she started to cry,as she was crying for then 1 hour then she slowly closes her eyes and doesn't even opens her eyes.....

After I heard Li's words i realised i had gone overboard so i should apologise to my daughter the situation we all are in is just because of 'them' so i should protect her well and now i am standing in front of her door i knocked 'Eva' no response then i knocked thrice perhaps she was angry so she didn't gave any response I said' Eva dad went overboard he wants to apologise for earlier and his behaviour sorry dear' i again knocked for twice but now i was receiving chills i started to shout 'Eva Eva Eva are you alright Eva,Eva please give me a reply i understood that something was wrong I started shouting 'Li come here fast help to break the door ' Li asked ' Why ?what happened ? Sir' 'I will explain everything later' I replied and we were successful at breaking the door but when i entered the room i saw.....
