Taehyung’s sleek black car pulled into the familiar driveway. His gaze drifted over the sprawling mansion—his mansion—now belonging to his brother, Namjoon. The towering structure loomed like a cold reminder of everything he had left behind. 20 years. That’s how long it had been since he left in anger, since his parents decided he wasn’t worthy of their love.
But now he was back, a powerful figure in the underworld, and all he could think about was seeing his family again, especially Namjoon. His older brother, the only one who had ever cared, the one who had tried to protect him from their parents' cruelty.
As he stepped out of the car, his phone buzzed. It was a text from Jackson.
Jackson: Be careful, boss. I know you don’t need me to remind you, but don’t let your guard down.
Taehyung scoffed, sliding the phone back into his pocket. "I’ll be fine."
He walked toward the front door with purpose, and when the door swung open, Namjoon stood there, smiling but with a hint of nervousness in his eyes.
"Taehyung," he said, his voice thick with emotion, "You’re really here."
Taehyung’s heart squeezed in his chest. He hadn’t realized just how much he had missed his brother until this moment.
"Yeah," Taehyung said, his voice quieter than usual. "I’m home."
Namjoon stepped aside to let him in, and as Taehyung entered, his eyes scanned the familiar walls, the photos of their childhood—his childhood. Everything felt different now, but the warmth was unmistakable. Seokjin appeared from the kitchen, his eyes soft with the same love he had always given Taehyung.
"Welcome back," Seokjin said, pulling him into a gentle hug. "It’s been so long."
"I know," Taehyung murmured. "I came to make things right."
Just as Taehyung started to speak, the front door opened, and a voice that sent a strange, unexplainable rush through him echoed in the hallway.
"Uncle Taehyung?"
Taehyung’s eyes snapped to the figure standing there—Jungkook. He looked so much like Namjoon, yet there was something uniquely different about him.
Jungkook’s eyes met Taehyung’s, and for a split second, it felt like the world had stopped. His nephew was beautiful, his innocent omega charm luring Taehyung in ways he couldn’t explain. Taehyung’s breath hitched.
"Uh... Yeah, that’s me," Taehyung replied, his voice tight. He cleared his throat, trying to shake off the sensation. "I’m your uncle."
Jungkook raised an eyebrow. "I’ve heard a lot about you. The mafia king."
Taehyung chuckled dryly. "I guess the rumors never stop."
Jungkook smirked. "I’m not scared of rumors."
Namjoon stepped in, his voice cutting through the tension. "Jungkook, why don’t you show your uncle to his room? He must be tired from the trip."
Jungkook nodded, his eyes still fixed on Taehyung, but there was something almost challenging in them, something that Taehyung couldn’t quite place.
As Jungkook led Taehyung upstairs, the older man couldn’t help but notice how their bodies brushed in the narrow hallway. It was subtle, nothing more than an accidental touch, but it was enough to send a strange shiver down his spine.
