Just Another Story of Young Lives?
Ep 1
The hallway outside the staff office smelled like chalk, paper, and instant coffee.
Xu Zhi’an stood with perfect posture, holding a stack of mock test papers neatly aligned. His uniform was clean, pressed, and dull — just like the expression on his face.
Teacher Lin
your from class 3-B right?
The teacher gestured to someone inside.
Teacher Lin
please take this student with you, he's in your class
Teacher Lin
he's the new transfer Lu Yao.
Zhi’an turned, and his eyes met a boy leaning back lazily in a chair, hoodie slightly too low on his forehead, a lollipop in his mouth. Lu Yao, apparently.
Zhi’an stared for a moment. Lu Yao grinned, lifting a hand in a peace sign.
Xu Zhi'an { 18 }
Follow me
Zhi'an gave a small bow to the teacher and left the room
Lu Yao muttered, hopping off the chair and trailing after him.
They walked in silence — one with footsteps measured and quiet, the other bouncing slightly with every step.
Lu Yao tried, hands behind his head
Lu Yao { 17 }
what’s Class 3-B like? You guys scream during lunch or is it more silent suffering?
Lu Yao { 17 }
..You know, I heard some classes have secret snack drawers—
Xu Zhi'an { 18 }
Please be quiet, I don't want to hear your voice echoing through the halls before you’ve even seen the classroom.
Lu Yao { 17 }
Ouch. Harsh, Class Rep.
Zhi’an stepped in first, The class was half-buzzing — some students napping, some talking, others scrolling on phones under their desks. At the sight of him, most sat up straighter.
Xu Zhi'an { 18 }
Everyone, we have a new student
He announced without enthusiasm
Xu Zhi'an { 18 }
Lu Yao. Transfer. Don’t ask me from where.
Lu Yao { 17 }
From Hell. Nice to meet you.
A few laughs. Zhi’an didn’t crack a smile, he just simply turned to Lu Yao
Xu Zhi'an { 18 }
I’m Class President Xu Zhi’an. I’ll be responsible for monitoring you. Don’t cause trouble
Xu Zhi'an { 18 }
Sit wherever you want.
Lu Yao { 17 }
Wow. Real warm welcome.
Ignoring him, Zhi’an returned to his desk and sat down beside a boy who was quietly sketching a worn sneaker on the corner of his notebook.
He gave Zhi’an a nod, and that was that.
Meanwhile, Lu Yao looked around the room, smirking. The class stared back — some amused, others wary.
He strolled over to the middle row, slung his bag down, and sat backward in the chair like he was settling into a cafe lounge instead of a high school desk.
Lu Yao { 17 }
Don’t mind me
He grinned at the student beside him.
Lu Yao { 17 }
I’m just here to spice up your academic despair.
