Sweet Reunion
Chapter 1
The street was too quiet for 9 p.m.
Even with my earbuds in, i could still hear my own footsteps echoing off the narrow alley walls. Cold wind tugged at my hoodie, and i pulled it tighter around myself, like that would somehow make me less noticeable. Not that anyone was out here to notice me.
At least... no one i could see.
Lately, I'd been feeling it. That weird weight on the back of my neck. That someone's-watching-me feeling. You know, the line that makes you turn your head three times a minute and pretend you're just looking at your phone?
I told myself i was imagining it. Probably just stress. Midterms. Bad sleep. Maybe too many crime documentaries while eating ramen at 3 a.m. Still, every time I walk home alone—especially when the street lights started flickering like they were possessed—I'd swear i wasn't alone.
Sometimes I catch a glimpse of something in my peripheral vision. A figure, maybe. A shadow moved just a little too smoothly. But when i turned, there was nothing. No one.
Still... I wasn't scared.
Creeped out? Sure.
But scared? Nah.
I grew up in an orphanage full of little terrors who stole snacks and bit people for fun. I've seen things. I've survived worse with no one by my side.
Whoever this stalker was, if they thought i was easy prey, they were going to be very disappointed.
I turned the corner onto my street, glancing over my shoulder one more time.
Just a cracked sidewalk and a flickering lamp post and—
Someone was standing there.
Far back, near the end of the street. Just barely in the light.
I blinked.
They didn't move. Not a step.
I took a breath. My fingers curled into fists inside my sleeves.
Alright, creepy bastard. Let's see if you blink first.

Chapter 2
Someone was standing there.
Far back, near the end of the street. Just barely in the light.
They didn't move, not a step.
A second passed. Then another. My breath hitched — just slightly — and I told myself not to be stupid. Probably just someone waiting for a ride. Or looking at their phone. Or a shadow. Yeah, maybe just a trick of the—
The hairs on my arm stood up under my hoodie.
I clenched my jaw and started running faster, trying to convince myself i wasn't running. I wasn't scared. Just tired. That's all.
When I reached my building, i didn't looked back. I didn't wanted to.
I locked the door behind me with a quiet click. The hallway light in my tiny apartment buzzed overhead, flickering once before it finally stayed on.
I took off my shoes, dropped my bag on the floor, and stood there for a second. Listening.
Nothing. No footsteps. No creaks. No breathing that wasn't mine.
Still, I walked over to the window and tugged the certains shut like i always did — two sharp pulls, left then right.
Double-checked the lock on the door. Twice.
Then i finally let out a breath and flopped onto my bed.
Jae-hyun [MC]
( Stupid. I'm being stupid. )
I grabbed my phone and scrolled through some group chats, half-heartedly replying to Sun-woo’s latest “get-your-pretty-ass-to-campus-early” rant. He always acted like I was the one who needed babysitting, even though he was the rich guy who couldn’t microwave rice without causing an incident.
Still... the distraction helped. A little.
Untill i checked my notifications.

My thumb hovered over the screen.
But i didn't sleep easy that night.

That's the end of this chapter. Sorry but lazy word is added for a reason.
Chapter 3
I yawned the movement i stepped onto campus. My bag slung lazily on one shoulder, hoodie halfway on, hair still damp from the world's fastest shower.
Why was I even here this early? Oh right.
He'd been blowing up my phone since 7 a.m.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
💬 Hyunggg, if you're not here in 10 minutes, I'm telling everyone about that time you cried during that puppy video.
Jae-hyun [MC]
🗨️ It was a funeral, Sun-woo. The dog dead.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
💬 And your tears were beautiful, come fast.
Jae-hyun [MC]
💢💢 This bitch.
I found him waiting outside the café near the journalism department. Hair perfectly styled like he woke up in a shampoo commercial, sipping on an overpriced smoothie.
Jae-hyun [MC]
You're lucky I like free food.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
You like me. The food is just a bonus.
He shoved a croissant at me like a peace offering. I took it. Not because I forgave him for waking me, but because I'm weak.
We headed to class, weaving through students in the courtyard.
It was always like this—him dragging me into social circles i never signed up for.
Kang Ha-eun [Min-ho's young sis]
Sun-woo oppa! Did you finish the stats assignment?
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
Of course. But Jae-hyun lives here for statistics. Right, bro?
Kang Ha-eun [Min-ho's young sis]
Thank you!! You're the best!!
She skipped off. I stated draggers at him.
Jae-hyun [MC]
I'm cursing you in five languages.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
As long as one is love language.
We finally made it to class. Prof. Min was already halfway through his usual rant.
Proff. Min
If your assignment looks like it was done by AI again, I will cry. And not in a beautiful puppy-video way.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
*Snorts with laughter*
Jae-hyun [MC]
*Glares at sun-woo*
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
(;;;・_・) Ahem! Ahem!
Midway through the lecture, my phone buzzed.
A blurry shot of me from behind... taken on campus.
No name. No caption just... me.
I swallowed hard and turned, scanning the room casually. No one suspicious.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
*Whispering*
You okay?
Jae-hyun [MC]
Yeah just... thought I saw someone.
[Later, during lunch at the rooftop tables]
Kang Min-ho
Yo, losers. Move.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
Oh no. It's the grumpy gorilla.
Kang Min-ho
Say that again and I'm throwing your designer bag off this roof.
Jae-hyun [MC]
I'd pay to see that, actually.
Somehow we all ended up sitting together—Sun woo, Min-ho, me... even some new hot guy who looked vaguely familiar.
He didn't talk. Just sat two tables down, alone, eating quietly.
My eyes kept drifting his way.
There was something... unsettling.
Or maybe I was just tired.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
Bet you fifty bucks he's crushing on you.
Jae-hyun [MC]
What?! No! Stop—
Kang Min-ho
Don't flatter yourself. He hasn't even blinked.
Lee Sun-woo [MC bff]
That's worse.
Still, i couldn't shake the feeling. That weird photo. That stanger.
Like i was being watched.
And this time... I wasn't sure I was imagining it.
