Your Majesty, My Monster

The Crimson Dilemma

The grand hall of the Mooncrest Castle, Kingdom of Elcaron. Golden chandeliers swing softly above as an eerie silence wraps the hall like a warning. The throne sits tall—but the man on it looks weighed down.
King Aurelius slumps on the throne, rubbing his temple, eyes shadowed with days of sleepless worry.
King Aurelius
King Aurelius
This can’t go on... the bloodshed... it’s endless.
A soft gust of wind flutters the dark blue velvet curtains as his advisor, Lord Cassian, strides in, papers in hand, and an expression carved from worry.
Lord Cassian
Lord Cassian
Your Majesty, two more villages along the eastern border were attacked last night. Not a single soul left... only drained bodies.
Aurelius grips the armrest of his throne so tight, the veins on his hand pop.
King Aurelius
King Aurelius
Vampires. Again. No warnings. No mercy.
King Aurelius
King Aurelius
(pauses, voice drops) What kind of ruler am I if I can’t protect my people?
Lord Cassian
Lord Cassian
Your Majesty, the vampire covens have declared they no longer recognize the Treaty of Sable Vale. To them... humans are cattle again.
Aurelius stands, his dark cape swirling like a storm cloud.
They want blood. Humans want power. Wolves... the Fey... even the witches keep to themselves. The balance is broken. Chaos breeds deeper than I feared.
Outside the castle, the kingdom looks peaceful—but smoke still rises faintly in the horizon. The sky is tinged with red, as if stained by blood. Citizens whisper in alleys. Priests light candles. Children no longer sing.
A hidden tavern in the vampire-claimed lands. A vampire with crimson eyes leans over a map, lips curved in a smirk.

Elcaron will fall. The king still believes in peace... poor little dreamer.
Aurelius, now standing before a window, watching the sun dip behind black hills.
King Aurelius
King Aurelius
There was once peace... before ambition poisoned hearts. Now, even the gods stay silent. (Thinking)
He turns suddenly as if a thought strikes him.
King Aurelius
King Aurelius
Summon the Council.

The Prophecy Whispers

The Court Hall, Elcaron Castle. Morning sunlight filters through stained glass, scattering colors across the marbled floor. Nobles, generals, priests, and scholars fill the chamber—tension curling in the air like smoke.
King Aurelius
King Aurelius
We need more than swords and magic. I summoned you not for war strategies... but for a solution. There must be another way.
An uneasy silence follows, broken by the soft creak of wooden prayer beads. An old priest with silver-threaded robes steps forward, eyes milky with age but glowing faintly with unseen sight.
High Priest Envar
High Priest Envar
A change is coming, Your Majesty... I feel it in my bones.
High Priest Envar
High Priest Envar
(pauses, voice trembling) It feels like both a blessing and a disaster... something old waking... or someone.
A chill runs through the court. Nobles exchange wary glances. Someone scoffs under their breath. The king remains still, eyes narrowing slightly.
King Aurelius
King Aurelius
Speak clearly, Envar. What change?
High Priest Envar
High Priest Envar
I cannot say. Only that the winds are shifting. And nothing will ever be the same.
A sunlit balcony just above the court chamber. Three young men sit together, the youngest wrapped in a pale green robe, legs swinging off the edge casually as he munches on a fruit.
Prince Lysander
Prince Lysander
Father looks tired... he never smiles anymore.
Prince Thayne
Prince Thayne
(the oldest, scarred and sharp-eyed) That’s because he carries a kingdom, Lys. Not a songbook.
Prince Darian
Prince Darian
(middle brother, arms crossed, tone dry) And it doesn’t help that you still sneak out of the castle at dawn just to ‘feel the wind’.
Prince Lysander
Prince Lysander
Well, someone has to keep the peace. And nature listens better than most advisors.
The air around Lysander glows subtly, leaves below the balcony stop rustling—as if the world holds its breath in his presence. Even the guards patrolling nearby seem calmer.
Prince Thayne
Prince Thayne
You know... the way the air stills around you sometimes... it's unnatural.
Prince Darian
Prince Darian
Or divine. The priests believe you’re destined to bring balance. Fortune, they said.
Prince Lysander
Prince Lysander
They also said I’d grow up to be a healer. But here I am, stuck between overprotective war machines and a father who doesn’t let me near the real battles.
Prince Thayne
Prince Thayne
And thank the gods for that. One of us should be untouched by this madness.
Back in the court, the king turns to the High Priest again.
King Aurelius
King Aurelius
If something is coming... then I need to know when. I need names. Faces.
High Priest Envar
High Priest Envar
Sometimes, Majesty... destiny hides in plain sight.
A shadow passes across the castle walls. Far away, in the forgotten lands, a creature locked in slumber twitches. Its eyes, gold and ancient, snap open.

The boy is glowing again… it’s almost time.

The Marriage Trap

Storm clouds swirl above the towers of Virethia. Thunder grumbles like an omen. Inside the grand hall, the air is sharp with tension. Murmurs rise and fall like waves crashing against stone.
King Vaelion leans forward on his throne, hands clenched.
King Vaelion
King Vaelion
There’s betrayal near Calesmere. Right at Elcaron’s border. The killings—vampires and humans both. It's deliberate.
Gasps ripple through the council. No one speaks. Queen Seraphina watches quietly, her hands folded over her lap.
A general steps forward, nervous.
General Alric
General Alric
Sire, patrols have reported ambush sites. No survivor, only burnt emblems. Someone’s trying to start something… again.
King Vaelion
King Vaelion
Not someone. Some kingdom. And we’re going to find out who.
Seraphina’s voice breaks the silence, smooth and deliberate.
Queen Seraphina
Queen Seraphina
There is… another option, my King. One that might bring peace faster than war ever could.
The court turns to her. Vaelion narrows his eyes.
Queen Seraphina
Queen Seraphina
(Smiling gently) The humans of Elcaron have a young royal. Unmarried. Perhaps… we should offer them an alliance. A marriage.
Tension coils instantly. Whispers erupt across the court.
Crown Prince Rael stands beside the throne—tall, silent, unreadable. His crimson cloak brushes the floor. He doesn't even look up. Doesn't react.
King Vaelion
King Vaelion
You suggest… Rael marry into a human family?
Queen Seraphina
Queen Seraphina
(sweetly) Yes. Peace through blood ties. A perfect symbol.
She turns slightly toward Rael, who doesn’t move. Doesn’t blink. His stillness is louder than any protest.
King Vaelion
King Vaelion
(To Rael) You have no objection?
Rael lifts his gaze slowly. Eyes like frost. His voice, when it comes, is quiet. Emotionless.
Prince Rael
Prince Rael
I don’t care who I marry.
The court freezes. Seraphina’s smile doesn’t waver—but her eyes gleam with something darker.
Queen Seraphina
Queen Seraphina
Then it’s settled. Let the arrangements begin.
In a far corner, Prince Sylas watches everything with a flicker of glee behind his charming mask. He whispers to a noble beside him.
Prince Sylas
Prince Sylas
Let’s see how long the perfect prince lasts… once the world sees him tied to a human.
Later, in the royal chambers. King Vaelion stands by the window, thunder rolling in the distance.
King Vaelion
King Vaelion
He doesn’t care… but they will. The court. The kingdom. They’ll eat him alive if he shows even one sign of weakness.
He sighs, pressing his palm to the glass.
King Vaelion
King Vaelion
Gods help us if peace costs Rael his crown.
In her candlelit chamber, Seraphina watches the rain fall, her wine untouched.
Queen Seraphina
Queen Seraphina
(to herself) He agreed too easily. That boy is colder than death itself… but no matter.
Her reflection in the mirror smirks back at her.
Queen Seraphina
Queen Seraphina
Let him marry the human. Let the kingdom mock him. And when he cracks… Sylas will be right there to take the throne.
