Cecília: (sighing) Wow, look at that man over there, girls. He is simply perfect!
Laiana: (laughing) Ceci, you always fall in love with men who only exist in your imagination.
Fernanda: (smiling) It's true, but who knows, this time, he's real?
Cecília: (excited) I'm going to go there and talk to him.
Laiana: (worried) Ceci, wait! You know what your schizophrenia episodes are like.
Cecília: (ignoring) Don't worry, girls. Everything will be fine.
Cecília declared herself from the table and walked to where the man was. She smiled charmingly and when she was about to get close to him, she started to lose her balance and ended up falling onto the ball table, making a crash and catching everyone's attention.
Man: (surprised) Wow, are you okay?
Cecília: (embarrassed) Sorry, I think I got a little carried away.
Man: (smiling) No problem, it happens. What is your name?
Cecília: (excited) My name is Cecília. And you?
Man: (mysterious) Call me Lucas. Do you dance?
Cecília: (smiling) Of course, I love dancing!
While Cecília and Lucas danced, their friends looked worried. They knew that Cecília often confused reality with her imagination and ended up getting into complicated situations. But even so, he was always by her side, supporting her.
Laiana: (whispering) I'm worried about Ceci.
Fernanda: (nervous) Me too, I hope she doesn't get disappointed again.
Meanwhile, Cecília and Lucas danced as if they were the only ones in the room. She was completely enchanted by him, and he seemed interested in her too. But deep down, she knew something wasn't right.
Lucas: (serene) Cecília, you are an incredible woman. I don't want to scare you, but I need to tell you something.
Cecília: (curious) What is it, Lucas?
Lucas: (seriously) I'm not real, Cecília. I'm just a figment of your imagination.
Cecília stopped dancing and looked at Lucas, not believing what she was hearing. She began to tremble and slowly backed away from him as tears began to well up in her eyes.
Cecília: (shaken) That can't be true. You look so real.
Lucas: (gentle) I know it's difficult to accept, Cecília. But you need to understand that I can't stay here forever. You need to face reality.
Cecília: (sobbing) How am I going to do this, Lucas? I don't know how to live without you.
Lucas: (calming) You are strong, Cecília. You will be able to overcome this. I will always be with you, even if in a different way. You have so many incredible qualities, so much strength within you. You will find a way to move forward.
Cecília: (taking a deep breath) But how am I going to deal with loneliness, Lucas? A part of me believed that you were real, that you were my mate... And now you're telling me that this is all a figment of my imagination.
Cecília remained silent for a few seconds, processing Lucas' words. She looked at him, teary-eyed, and tried to understand what was happening. As much as she knew Lucas wasn't real, she had created such a strong bond with him that it was difficult to accept the truth.
Cecília: (with a trembling voice) Why now, Lucas? Why are you telling me this?
Lucas: (with sadness in his eyes) Because you need to move on, Cecília. You can't live in the world of your imagination forever. It's time to face reality and move on.
Cecília nodded slowly, still trying to process everything that was happening. She turned away from Lucas and walked to the window, looking at the world outside. She felt lost and confused, not knowing how to move forward without her imaginary companion.
Lucas approached her and placed a hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her.
Lucas: (affectionately) I know it’s difficult, Cecília. But you are strong enough to overcome this. I will always be here, even if only in your memory.
Cecília looked at Lucas and smiled, even though the tears were still streaming down her face.
Cecília: (with determination) You're right, Lucas. I need to move on and find my own happiness. Thank you for everything.
Lucas smiled at her and slowly disappeared, leaving Cecília.
She took a deep breath and wiped away her tears, deciding to face reality and move on.
Without Lucas' presence, Cecília felt an emptiness inside her.
She tried to distract herself with her daily activities, but the absence of her imaginary companion still echoed in her thoughts.
On a sunny afternoon, Cecília decided to go for a walk in the park.
She walked slowly along the tree-lined paths, breathing in the fresh air and feeling the sun warm her skin. As she watched the children playing and the couples in love walking hand in hand, Cecília felt a pang of loneliness invade her heart.
It was then that she saw a man sitting on a bench, looking at the horizon with a thoughtful look. He seemed lost in his own thoughts, the same way Cecília felt.
She approached the man, sitting next to him shyly.
Cecília: (shy) Excuse me, can I sit here?
The man looked at her and smiled gently.
Man: (friendly) Sure, feel free.
They spent hours talking, laughing and sharing special moments together. As the sun set over the horizon, Cecília realized she was ready to leave the past behind and embrace the present. (just not)
She said goodbye to the man with a warm hug and a smile on her lips. As she walked back home, Cecília felt lighter and more hopeful about the future.
Cecília entered the house and went straight to her room, picked up her bag and left towards college. She was late for psychology class, one of her favorite courses. When arriving in the room, the teacher had already started talking about mental disorders.
As Cecília tried to concentrate in class, her mind began to wander. She found herself in a parallel world where her imaginary boyfriend, Lucas, was waiting for her. He was tall, with black hair and piercing eyes. Cecilia sighed, remembering the happy times they spent together in her creative mind.
Suddenly, Cecília came back to reality and realized that she was having a bout of schizophrenia. She looked to her side and saw Lucas sitting next to her, smiling at her. Cecília was shocked and confused. She knew Lucas wasn't real, but he seemed so tangible At that moment.
- Lucas, I know you told me to forget you, but I can't. Come back with me again, Cecília whispered, looking into the eyes of her imaginary boyfriend. Lucas smiled and held her hand, causing Cecília to feel a shiver down her spine.
- I never asked you to forget me, Cecília. I'm always here, by your side, even if no one else can see me, Lucas replied tenderly. Cecília felt a tightness in her chest, knowing that that moment of fantasy would soon be interrupted by the real world.
As the class continued, Cecília tried to concentrate on the content, but her mind was occupied with the surreal encounter she had just had with Lucas. She knew her schizophrenia was getting more and more out of control, but she couldn't resist the comforting presence of her imaginary boyfriend.
At the end of the class, Cecília said goodbye to Lucas with a soft kiss on the cheek, knowing that she would have to face reality once again. She left the classroom, feeling more lost than ever. How could he live a normal life when his mind was constantly going back and forth between reality and fantasy?
On the way back home, Cecília fought to keep her sanity intact. She didn't want to disappoint her family and friends, but Lucas's imaginary world was so inviting, so welcoming. She wondered if she could ever be free of her schizophrenia and live a normal life.
Upon arriving home, Cecília threw herself on the bed and sighed. She closed her eyes, trying to shake off the confusing thoughts that haunted her. But, to her surprise, Lucas appeared before her once again, smiling as always.
- Don't worry, my love. I will always be here to help you face your fears and insecurities, Lucas said softly, caressing Cecília's face. She smiled, feeling comforted by her lover's presence.
Cecília knew she would have to deal with her schizophrenia the next day, but for that moment, she decided to surrender herself to Lucas's enchanted world. She closed her eyes, allowing herself to enjoy the fantasy he provided. And then, Cecília fell asleep, enveloped in a sea of dreams and imagination.
Cecília woke up with her heart racing, looking around for her imaginary boyfriend, Lucas. She looked around the room but didn't see him anywhere.
Lucas? Lucas, where are you?, called Cecília, her voice echoing in the emptiness of the room.
With no response, Cecília felt a tightness in her chest and a feeling of panic took over her.
Did he leave me?, he thought, tears starting to run down his face. She got up from the bed and left the room, looking for Lucas throughout the house.
As she walked through the corridors, Cecília began to notice strange things happening around her. The bathroom window opened and closed on its own, the kitchen tap started gushing water uncontrollably, flooding the floor of the house. Cecília felt her heart speed up even more, a feeling of vertigo taking over her.
No, it can't be real... Cecília muttered to herself, trying to control her breathing. She found herself staring at the rapidly rising water around her, as if she were in a nightmare. Lucas, help me! She screamed, desperate.
It was then that Cecília remembered her medication, quetiapine, which helped her control her bouts of schizophrenia. With shaking hands, she ran to the bathroom cabinet and grabbed the medicine box, desperately swallowing a pill.
Little by little, the feeling of drowning began to subside, the water around him disappeared and the house returned to normal. Cecília clung to the bathroom sink, panting, feeling her heart pounding in her chest. She looked around, taking deep breaths, trying to calm herself.
This isn't real, this isn't real... Cecília repeated to herself, closing her eyes tightly. When he opened them again, he saw Lucas standing in front of him, his eyes worried. He held her hands affectionately, trying to calm her.
Cecilia, how are you? Did you have another outburst again? Lucas asked, his voice soft and comforting. Cecília nodded, feeling a mixture of relief and embarrassment.
I'm sorry, Lucas. I know none of this is real, but sometimes it's difficult..., Cecília murmured, wiping the tears from her face.
Lucas smiled gently, running his thumb over Cecília's cheek. I know, baby. But I'm here, I'll always be here to help you get through these difficult times.
Cecília smiled back, feeling grateful for Lucas by her side, even if only in her mind. She hugged him tightly, feeling safe and protected in his imaginary arms.
Cecília: Lucas, I miss you so much. Thank you for being with me, even if just in my mind.
Lucas: I'm always here for you, Cecília. Even if it's just in spirit.
Cecília smiled, feeling grateful to have Lucas by her side, even if he was just a projection of her imagination. She hugged him tightly, closing her eyes and losing herself in the comforting feeling of being in his arms.
Lucas: You know you can call me whenever you need, right?
Cecília nodded, feeling safe and protected in her imaginary arms.
Cecília: I know, Lucas. You are my safe haven, even if you are far away.
Lucas: I will always be with you, Cecília. One way or another.
