When Evelyn Vernoica accidentally steps into the shadows of the Vasiliev empire, she becomes the obsession of Kael — a man cursed by his own bloodline. Possessive. Cold. Ruthless. Marcus Blackthorn — Kael’s trusted left hand — watches her every move, hiding secrets far more twisted than loyalty. Trapped between power, obsession, and betrayal, Evelyn must navigate a world where love isn’t salvation — it’s captivity. One is her captor. One may be her ruin. Both want to own her. And she may not escape either. In this world, love is a sickness. And Evelyn is the cure either of them can have without breaking. The deeper they fall, The darker it gets, And some cages are lined with silk… but they’re cages all the same.
Mine... Because his entire obsession is rooted in possession — she belongs to him, no matter what.
She was supposed to be his weakness. But she may be his greatest threat......
They stole her freedom. Caged her body. Underestimated her mind. But Evelyn Veronica is not the fragile prize they believe she is. And while Kael’s obsession grows, so does her power inside his empire. She never belonged in his world. A quiet life, simple dreams — all shattered the moment Kael Vasiliev’s eyes found her. He claimed it was for her protection. But she knows better. Now trapped inside the Vasiliev empire, surrounded by shadows and secrets, Evelyn walks a delicate tightrope between fear and fascination. Kael’s possessive gaze burns through her, promising safety while binding her tighter in invisible chains. His obsession is terrifying… yet intoxicating. And the deeper she falls, the harder it becomes to tell where danger ends and desire begins. But Evelyn is no fragile doll. Beneath her trembling heart, a darker fire awakens. If Kael believes he controls her, he’s already made his first mistake. Because sometimes, the captive learns to tame the monster.
Control..... Because while she fears him, she also craves the control he holds over her — and deep down, she may crave to control him too.

The Transaction

Aiden had disappeared. His dorm room was empty, laptop gone, phone switched off. No one had seen him in 48 hours.
When Evelyn reached there she saw devastated state of his brother room. Evelyn paced the floor of their shared apartment, hands shaking, panic rising. She receive a phone call on her mobile. She received it

Who the hell is this?

(calm, chilling): You have something more valuable than money. Come alone.
They gave her an address — an old banking hall in the city’s abandoned financial district. She should’ve called the cops. Should’ve run. But Aiden was all she had. So she went.
When she reached at the address. The building looked empty. Dusty chandelier, marbled floors, too clean. Two men in suits greeted her with no words, only nods. One of them had her brother’s hoodie in his hand.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(whispers): Where is he?
Only a door. Only stairs. She followed — heart hammering in her chest. Then... the room. Bright, sterile. Like a showroom. Mirrors on every wall. Or were they windows? She realized too late: She was on display.

Lot Forty-Seven. Unmarked. Collateral from Veronica—debt owed.
Her head whipped toward the ceiling. A voice crackled through unseen speakers.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(panicked): No! You said I’d see my brother! You said this was a negotiation!
Behind the glass, Kael Vasiliev leaned back in his leather chair, staring at the girl in the white dress. Not frightened. Furious. Wild.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
That fire... Look at her

Her brother cracked our encryption. This was the trade. She knew the risk.

Still want her?
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(holds possessiveness in his voice): She’s mine
Evelyn backed into the corner of the room as the side door hissed open. Two guards stepped inside.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(screaming): “Don’t touch me! I want answers—AIDEN!”
But her cries meant nothing. They grabbed her wrists. Lifted her off the floor.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
LET ME GO!
Minutes later Evelyn’s wrists were cold against the steel cuffs, the thin chain connecting them barely brushing her waist. Her breath fogged in the air-conditioned darkness of the room, where the glass walls were one-sided—she couldn’t see them, but they could see her.
The door slammed open. Evelyn startled as two men in black stepped in. One grabbed her arm.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
W-Wait—what are you doing? Where are you taking me?
No answer. She struggled, but the man only tightened his grip as they pulled her out through the side door—through the darkness—until they brought her into a warmer room, lined in leather and low lighting. And then he walked in. Tall. Immaculate. Ice in human form. His eyes met hers, and something inside her spine locked into place.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(her voice a thread of breath):Let me go
He said nothing at first, only stepped closer.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
You’re Evelyn.
She doesn’t respond. She stares at him like she’s memorizing his face for the police report.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
You were never supposed to be here

Evelyn Veronica
(voice shaking): Where is my brother?
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev

He leans forward, elbows on knees, gaze piercing.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
Because you matter to him. Because he ran. And because now… I’ve seen you.
A beat. Her pulse roars in her ears.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(calmly): And now that I’ve seen you…
He brushes a finger along her jaw.
Evelyn Veronica

I'm here Because of a lie. Because my brother—

Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
( narrowed her eyes): So what? You’re here to punish me for it?
He tilted his head. His expression barely shifted. A twitch at the corner of his mouth. Amusement?
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
No. I’m here to protect what’s mine
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
“I’m not yours.”
The words hit her like a slap. Kael stepped closer, close enough for her to smell him—smoke and something sharper, metallic, like danger itself.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
You are now.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
( shook her head, trembling): This is insane. You can’t just take people.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
I didn’t take you (he said softly):I paid for you
Evelyn flinched. Her knees threatened to buckle.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
What do you want from me?
Kael’s voice dropped into something cold, something that wrapped around her like silk-covered chains.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev

Kael Vasiliev

The Silk Cage

Evelyn woke with a gasp and there is a silence a type of silence which makes her gasp for every breath and she is getting a feeling she is Trapped here. Her hands clutched the silk sheets as if they might anchor her to reality — but the softness felt like a lie. She sat up slowly, every muscle taut with dread. This wasn’t her apartment. It wasn’t even a hotel. It was a prison dressed in luxury.
Not the comfortable kind — not the hum of a streetlight or the chirp of birds. This silence was calculated. Designed. She was in a room too large to feel safe, too soft to feel real.
She looked around herself and observe the room where is she. Satin sheets. Marble floors. A chandelier glittered overhead, High ceilings. Velvet curtains. Walls painted in dark tones that were too perfect. No windows. No clock. Everything screamed luxury… and control.
Just silence. That’s what struck her the most — the silence. It wasn’t peaceful. It was manufactured. The kind of silence that made her ears ring.
She sat up with a jolt and her eyes scanned the room again. Her clothes were still on. No bruises. No restraints. But the door… Locked....
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(Her breath quickened): Okay. Don’t panic. You just need to think.
A knock broke the stillness. Before she could answer, the door opened. A man entered — tall, lean, black shirt tucked into black slacks. Cold eyes. Controlled movements.
Marcus Blackthorn
Marcus Blackthorn
(flatly): You're expected downstairs.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
You can expect to go to hell.
Marcus Blackthorn
Marcus Blackthorn
(smirking): You’ll fit in perfectly here
He glanced at her like he was sizing up a threat.
Marcus Blackthorn
Marcus Blackthorn
He’s waiting
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(hoarse): Who is?
Marcus Blackthorn
Marcus Blackthorn
Kael
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
Tell him I’m not interested.
Marcus Blackthorn
Marcus Blackthorn
(Marcus’s smirk was almost invisible): That’s not how this works.
He stepped aside, gesturing to the hallway. He left the door open. She hesitated, then followed — not because she trusted him. Not out of obedience — out of necessity. She needed to find Aiden. And escape.
The estate was beautiful. Dark, sprawling, and silent. The kind of place that made you feel watched even when alone. As she was led down a marble staircase, her stomach twisted at the sight of him.
Kael Vasiliev
Down the grand staircase, Kael stood at the head of a long dining table. Black suit. Unmoved. Dangerous.
He didn’t greet her. Didn’t smile. Standing at the head of a long table, pouring himself a drink. He didn’t turn to look at her.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(quietly): You slept.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
I passed out. There’s a difference.
He turned. Calm. Composed. Eyes sharp. He simply looked at her like she was something he’d already claimed.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(quietly): Sit.
She didn't move.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
No
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
Do you feel hurt?
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
“No.”
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
Then you’re welcome.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(cold and horse voice): Where's my brother's?
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
“Safe. Alive. Not here.”
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
“Bring him here. Let me talk to him.”
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(stepping closer): Somewhere safe. I gave you my word.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
Why should I believe a word that comes from a man who buys women like—
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(cutting in, firm): I didn’t buy you.
He walked to her — slow, measured. Her heartbeat spiked as he came within inches of her.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
I took you from a transaction. There’s a difference.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
Same cage. Different bars.
A flicker of amusement crossed his face.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
I prefer silk.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
Bring my brother here. I want to talk to him
He stepped closer — not fast, but deliberate. Controlled.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(coldly): Every word from your mouth is a demand. But you are not in a position to demand anything.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(shaking, furious): You kidnapped me—
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
No. I protected you. I removed you from an environment where you were about to be sold to men far worse than me.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
I didn’t ask for protection.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(Kael’s eyes narrowed): No. But now you have
He gestured to the table.
He gestured to the seat again. She sat — spine stiff, lips pressed. He sat across from her. Silence fell. Not the awkward kind. The heavy, dangerous kind.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
I’ll keep you here until I believe your brother has learned his lesson. Until he repays his debt. Until I decide otherwise.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(hoarse voice): You’re insane, free my brother I want to meet him.
Kael’s gaze burned into her.
No, Evelyn. I’m in control.
The food was untouched. She stared at it like it might bite her.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
Eat
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
I'm not hungry
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
You haven’t eaten in two days.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(coldly): Maybe I’d rather starve than be your pet.
Eventually, Kael stood and circled to her side. Her body tensed as he stopped behind her, hand ghosting along the back of her chair.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(low): You can fight me. Scream at me. Curse me. It changes nothing
He leaned down, his breath against her neck.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(Whispers in her ear): “You’re in my house now.”
The silence between them stretched — sharp, alive.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(Low): You think you’re still in control. That your choices matter
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
You think I’ll beg?
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(Whispering at her ear): Not yet.
She stood so fast her chair scraped across the floor.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(trembling): Let me go.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
You’re free to walk anywhere inside these walls.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
That’s not freedom.
A beat of silence.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
(softly, almost… tenderly): You’ll learn to belong here.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
It’s safer than where you were heading.
Her jaw clenched. Her eyes burned.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
I’m not afraid of you.
Kael studied her. Not cruelly. Not angrily. Almost… intrigued.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
You should be
Evelyn didn’t move. Didn’t speak. Just swallowed the scream rising in her throat.
She turned and stormed out of the dining room, heart racing. She didn’t know where she was going, but she needed distance. Needed air.
As she turned the corner, she collided with a locked glass door — tall, clear, showing only the walled courtyard beyond. Security cameras blinked from corners.
No exit. No escape. Just beauty hiding the bars. She sank to the floor, legs folding beneath her, and whispered the only name that still gave her hope.
Evelyn Veronica
Evelyn Veronica
(softly): Aiden… please don’t be dead.
Somewhere else in the estate, Kael stood before the same camera feed, watching her break. And he whispered a word that felt more like a curse than a promise.
Kael Vasiliev
Kael Vasiliev
Mine....
