"Hey Ethan, get up, We will get late."The 10 year old boy who had been ordered to wake up his little brother's aid frustrated. "Noooo! I don't want to go. Tell Mommy I am ill."screamed the 5 year old Ethan." Please Claude-nii, I am tired." Claude rolled his eyes and snatched the bedcovers. The little boy rolled into a ball and started throwing a tantrum.

"What is taking so long?" asked Mrs.Kim gently,standing by the door and sighed over the two boys. She came up to the bed and sat down,"Ethan dear, don't trouble Auntie. Think about Mommy. We all need to be there for her operation. Then we will bring home a new brother or sister."

"But, I don't want a brother or sister, I want Mommy to love me and only me" said Ethan" She loves Claude because he is smart and when he was finally going to Daddy, she got pregnant." Mrs.Kim sighed, "Claude, go get ready. Ethan, are you sure you don't want to come?"

After an hour, Mrs.Kim was ready and held Claude's hand. They moved out to the front yard where their car was parked. Inside sat Mr.Kim and his two children. "Well then, Bye little brother. I know you are interested in our little brother or sister, but you are stubborn and stupid enough not to come."

Ethan said," If it wasn't till yesterday, I would have definitely come, Claude." Claude said, "You actually believed that creepy man from yesterday. Fine then, bye."

Ethan watched as the car disappeared into the busy road. He sighed and walked back into the house and locked the door. 'You are cursed, stay away from me. You will kill everyone, not even your family shall live.' The man's voice echoed in his head. He went into his room and sat down on his study table Yam, the family dog was a Great Dane, who gently rubbed his worried master and licked him.

Ethan patted the dog and ordered,"Nanny, will come at three.Wake me up beforehand." He looked at the clock, it was 12 noon. He then decided to sleep. Yam ran out and played with his toys.

After half an hour, Yam got up and was alert after seeing a figure at the window. He growled and ran into Ethan's room.He shielded his owner and was about to bark when the figure rushed forward and tied a rope onto the dog.

"Shhh..." the figure then looked over Ethan and pulled the dog away silently. The dog struggled and resisted causing the floor to get bloodied by his broken claws.

Screech!! cried the floor as the dog was getting dragged. There was click on the door and a thud in the background. And the house fell into silence.

Silence so sweet that Ethan didn't wake up. The wind blowed and leaves on the tree rustled. There were no birds nor bugs. All seemed to sing their silent lullaby.

Ethan woke up at 2. He was still sleepy but he decided to go ahead and watch the television until Nanny came. He rinsed his eyes and changed into new clothes. He called Yam but did not get a reply.

He went out of his room to look around. He noticed the bloodstained floor and was shocked. He followed the trail that led to the frontyard. He noticed the figure by the window and was dumbstruck.

He dashed to the upper floor and went into his parent's room, locked himself in the room and then entered the cupboard with wooden grill. He looked out from the gaps he hid in the furs that hung. He shut his mouth with his hand and cried.

He fainted out of fear. He woke up to the breaking door where he saw the house on fire. The firefighters were trying to save him. He lay peacefully as he was being carried in the arms and was passed toward the door.

He lay on the bed and sighed a sigh of relief. He looked at his burning house and saw the figure stand by the window, looking at him. He saw the figure against the blazing fire. He found it very odd. The figure was not as large as he thought it looked. It was more like a child. A child playing with fire.

At the hospital, Ethan's mother came to see him. The doctors were glad that the boy was not hurt. Claude rushed to his brother and caressed him. The family was glad that Ethan made it out alive.

After a week, Ethan came to his new home with his father. He stood at the door and watched his father walk over to his mother who held his little sister. Claude stood beside them. They were holding their hands out to him, but the crazy man's words kept repeating in his head.

Cursed, he believed he had been cursed. Since then, Ethan changed. He became more quiet and insecure. His eyes became lifeless and still. His blue eyes looked like the calm ocean over his pale face.

His parents were worried. They took him to psychiatrists and doctors, but the results were the same. 'He is too shocked after the fire, trauma and fear have made him lifeless. Try merging with him and loving him. It will probably treat him.'

"Daddy, will Ethan get better?" Claude asked, and Mr.Houston hugged his son, "I hope that he will get better soon."

Ethan's little sister was named Rose. She never received Ethan's love. She saw him everyday, but never saw him smile or worry. She would sigh,and Claude would ask "Claude-nii is here. Why do you get sad?" "I want to play with Ethan-nii and Claude-nii together."

Seasons flew, from the chilling winter to hot summer to the happy spring and dull autumn. Year passed and the little children of the Houstons grew older.

THE PLACES

Hey there, after the introduction here is the overview of the characters and the place they stay in.

Firstly, The Houstons are rich and famous. The burnt-out house lies in a small town called Resolia Square. This is a completely fictional name with no references to real life. Resolia has around only a hundred houses along with a lake in its back. A factory functions on the bank on the lake and don't worry, this factory does not pollute the lake rather they use hydroelectric from the lake that extends into a river.

The lake is beautiful and becomes mystical with the fog in the morning. Several fish live in the lake and hence people love to come here for fishing althoughthere are restrictions over that. After the house burns down, Houstons created a lake-house. They usually come here in summer for the grandparents.

Houstons currently live in the city called Dafrin Green City. Again, no references to reality. Dafrin green city is pretty well-known and well-developed. People from Resolia come here for jobs, and urbanization, so Resolia has less population and more abandoned houses.

The next place is Ageli Frostburg that is around 25km from Roselia. This is gonna be the place where our Lori comes from. Well and beautiful it is heaven on earth. The only odd place is an abandoned farmhouse and its farm that looks dull but doesn't stand out. It merges into the dense birchwoods.
