His Unmarked Territory

Chapter One: All a werewolf needs.

I was running as fast as my four legs would allow. Flying through the forest and forgetting my worries as the cold air hit my black fur. I sprinted through the woods like a bullet shot from a gun, and I knew

in my consciousness that I was dreaming. I knew I should wake up but I couldn't. Instead, I stayed in the green English forest scene. The same scene which haunted me in every dream I had. My wolf form was unaware of what was about to happen. I was too consumed with my own thoughts that I wasn't responsive to the fact that my parents were about to be attacked. I heard a distant wolf cry, it was my mother.

I pressed my paws into the ground coming to an abrupt stop, and then I ran, faster than I had ever run before; but it wasn't fast enough. I couldn't do anything more as I race towards the attackers, knowing I wasn't going to get there in time. All I could do was watch as the ten or so wolfs pounce at my parents, watching them struggle under their multiple holds as they tore into their flesh.

"Skylar! Skylar!" My eyes flashed open to see my gran, smiling at me sadly. "We're nearly here."

"Oh right" I yawned and noticed that what was once a North Dakota landscape, was now just a matt black color outside the car window.

"What time is it?" I asked, feeling slightly surprised. I must have been sleeping for quite a while.

"It's rather late, 9:15 to be precise. We should be home in about 10 minutes."

"Cool" I smiled at her; I knew it couldn't be easy for her. She was left to look after her dead daughter's child, which up until a few hours ago had never met.

"So you should probably go straight up to bed, I'm sure you're exhausted after all the traveling you've been doing."

"Yeah, I think I will" I sighed, trying to hold in another yawn from escaping my lips. It was somewhat awkward in the car as Gran didn't really know what to say to me, she has yet to mention anything about my parents 'demise."

I didn't see much of the house, but I saw enough to know it was perfect. It was surrounded by miles of forest. All a werewolf needs. I smiled as I looked at the house. Of course, Gran thought it was due to me liking the look of the place, but really it was the thought of exploring tomorrow.

My mood was evidently brighter as gran showed me around the house, finally coming to a stop in front of a faded pink door.

"Well this used to be your mothers' room, but I thought you might like it." She smiled, but I could see the uncertainty in her eyes. I wanted to reassure her that it was alright, but I couldn't help but feel a bit scared myself. What if I opened the door to see a little girl's room with frills and patchwork?

"Umm" I gulped not wanting to sound rude, so I put on a fake smile and pulled open the door, only to let out a sigh as I looked at the newly furnished, newly painted and freshly floored lilac room. It was beautiful.

"Wow Gran!" I grinned. Looking around I noticed a few old items which I assumed used to belong to mum, but the balance of new and old was perfect. It didn't feel like her room, it felt like my room.

"Do you like it?"

"Do I like it? I love it!" I grinned going to the bed and throwing myself onto its duvet.

I surprised myself when I realized I was smiling. I hadn't smiled in a while... a long while, it felt nice. For the first time, I began to think more positively. This move was going to be good for me. A fresh start.

"You did this?!" I asked amazed, feeling touched that she had gone to so much trouble for me, even though she'd never met me. I felt loved.

"Yes, it was something to keep my mind off..."She trailed off, I knew she was about to say, my mother. "Well, goodnight dear. Tomorrow, I'll show you around theneighborhood?" She asked me unsure.

"Of course, that'll be fun" I smiled trying to reassure her. She smiled in relief, before telling me goodnight and leaving me to sleep.

Half an hour later I was tucked under the covers, with my eyes closed tightly as I tried to sleep. Only I couldn't. All I could think about was exploring. I hadn't been in my wolf form since... Well since it happened and even though being in wolf form brought back memories, I would much rather forget, I couldn't deny I was itching to be out there and free again. I knew I shouldn't. Gran might come and check on me, and I didn't want her to worry on my first few hours with her, but if I'm quick she wouldn't know...

My better instinct lost their battle as I threw off my duvet and climbed out of bed to the window. I looked out letting my wolf senses search the surrounding area, to make sure no one was around. When I saw that it was clear, I stripped off my pajamas and then my underwear. One of the bad things about being a werewolf was that wearing clothes while changing was not good - Especially if you wanted to wear those clothes again. I opened my mind up and felt my body shudder as I transformedinto my wolf form, before jumping out of the second story window only to land in a heap on the ground. Great, I guess my wolf skills had become rusty over the last month. I growled as I righted myself. I made sure my gran was still asleep before letting my instincts take over and began running towards the confinement of the trees. I ran at full speed feeling the wind whip around my face just for the thrill of it, though I had to remind myself that I shouldn't go far. I might be a wolf, but my sense of direction was still as bad as ever.

I had no clue how long I'd been running before I heard something or someone following me. I turned around. Nothing.

Weird I growled at myself, my wolf skills were really deficient at the moment.

No, I definitely heard something then. I stopped completely and looked around. I was now sure something was following me, but as I looked around, there was absolutely nothing. 1 growled again smelling for any nearby scent. Yes, there was definitely someone following me. I just couldn't see it.

I growled again as I heard a crunch to my right. My wolf bent down in an aggressive crouch staring at the four wolves as they stepped towards me. Their stance wasn't

aggressive, merely curious as they stared back at me. The largest one was in front of the little formation they had unconsciously made. He was apparently the Alpha of the small pack.

I growled again at them, not easing my position as 1 bared my large canines.

They had yet to move, they just stood there staring at me. A young female 'she-wolf" apparently wasn't much of a threat to the four all-male pack.

I watched as the alpha stepped slowly towards me, but I could detect no menace in his movements, only interest. With that movement I bolted, running at full speed again, back the way 1 had come back to grans like the scardy cat I was. But could you blame me? The last werewolf's I encountered killed, my parents.

Once I got back to the neatly cut grass of gran's lawn, I half expected them to be behind me. Yet as I quickly scanned the area; there was nothing. I gulped realizing that right now it wasn't dark- instead, it was dimly lit, and the birds were chirping.

Great I've been out all night, I sighed as I jumped the wall up to my window ledge, which was luckily still jarred open.

Chapter Two: Not so perfect stranger

The rest of the weekend went by unsurprisingly fast-unsurprising since 1 knew it was because I was dreading today Monday. My first day at my new high school, Caliver High.

Looking over at my clock it read 7:30. I was running late, I can't believe I was going to be late on my first day!

In a frantic rush, I pulled on the carefully planned outfit I'd laid out on the chair beside my bed. Taking a deep breath i looked in the mirror. i smiled as I looked back at my reflection happy that I had rather successfully pulled off the American look I had seen girls wearing yesterday at the mall. Ah... Not that I was going to fit in any way. Who was i kidding?! My accent alone would separate me out from my peers

My smile left the reflections face as I looked at my clashing appearance-by clashing I'm talking about my jet black hair which naturally twisted into ringlets half way down, pale white skin and baby blue eyes. The three features totally shouldn't go together, and I guess they didn't but I was born this way. A few times I had thought of changing my hair color, but my parents and friends would have always given me this horrified expression. But anyway enough with the way I look... Time for schoul The bus stop was about half a mile away from the house, but I reassured Gran I would be fine. So here I was, a seventeen-year-old walking to the bus stop. How sad is this?! Back home I couldn't get my license because my parents couldn't afford lessons and I certainly couldn't pay for them myself. I sighed, I really wanted my own car...

Images of my future car filled my consciousness as I arrived at the bus stop. There was no one waiting and so when the orange bus pulled up. I was the only one to get on. Awkward! I could feel my heart beating double time as I looked back at all the staring faces. The only comfort being was that most of the kids were considerably younger than me. 15-year-old - ones that couldn't drive!

None of the kids said a word to me the whole journey, though they continued to stare

"Do you see something you like? Because i don't I glared at a couple of young teenage boys who were literally turned in their seats to look at me. The boys just laughed hitting each other, one even had the little guts to mutter 'yes' under his breath.

Kids, I rolled my eyes.

Did I mention-1 REALLY NEED MY OWN CAR

Finally, we arrived at Caliver high school.

I was a little relieved that I didn't have to sort out my schedule, as thanks to Gran I'd picked it up yesterday.

My heart was racing again as I looked at all the students getting out of their cars, greeting friends, and... kissing. Standing on the bus as I waited for the kids. to clamber off, I caught sight of the school entrance. A plan formed in my head to make a quite B line towards it.

I casually sunk my hands in my jacket pockets-something I tended to do when i was nervous, took a deep breath and began the first few steps towards the comforting doors. I didn't like the way the students would stop their conversations as I walked past, it made me feel uncomfortable and 1 as much as I tried, I couldn't seem to walk any faster.

"Hey!" I very clearly heard a guy call, but

I tried to act as if I hadn't. I didn't want to stop now, so instead of turning around I kept my head down and hoped he would just let me go.

"Hey, I'm taking a survey" He was right beside me now and I looked up to see a guy with dusty brown hair and brown eyes, admittedly he was hot, but on first impressions, his football jacket just screamed player.

"Er, what?" I frowned, as he just grinned at me.

"First," he carried on "your name?" He asked. "Er Skylar..." I frowned utterly confiased, we were stopped now and I noticed others were stood around us watching our littleconversation, "What's your phone number?" He continued, while I frowned at him trying to decipher whether this guy was actually serious

"I don't have time for this. Please just let me get to class." I muttered while trying to walk past him.

"Would you go out with a perfect stranger?" He continued as he stood in front of me, causing me to stop again. I stared up at him as I contemplated his question, I couldn't lie, he was sort of good looking too bad be was annoying.

"Yes... But you're not perfect I smirked back, and then stepped around him and continued my way towards the waiting doors.

"Ouch." He called hock, causing me to smile. slightly but carried on my way.

I was bombarded with the constant sound of whistles and countless chat up lines, as I walked through the school corridors. I was starting to feel as if maybe coming to this school wasn't a good idea, and surprisingly I was wishing I was back at my old school in England.

"You're new right?" I turned to see another guy smiling at me as he matched his pace with mine. He had blonde hair and light blue eyes. He was rather good looking in looks could be conceiving. a cute kind of way, however, I knew that

"Is it that obvious?" I asked, surprised to feel my cheeks warm slightly Why was i blushing?

"Er. Yeah?" He smiled, running his hand through his hair. "My names Wesley by the way I gave him a genuine smile as we

continued to walk down the corridor. For some reason, he seemed different than the other guys here. I mean he was smarter than the rest for a start. Instead of shouting out chat-up lines from across the corridor, he was actually making the effort to talk to me.

"Skylar" I introduced myself.

"Would you like me to show you to your next class?" He asked slightly unsure, which had me smiling and nodding my head.

"That would actually be great, being new and all"

"You're English?" He asked

"Yep." I said popping my p

"Your accents cute." He complimented me.

"Thanks," I said instead of coming up with some witry comment.

"So what's your first lesson?"

"Hang on," I muttered as I pulled out my

schedule from my bag. "Um, English with

Mr. Bailey?"

"Oh, same" He smiled and generally

looked happy to be in the same class as me.

"Cool...

So who was that guy?" I asked, not sure if he had seen the conversation before. However, then again practically the whole school had stopped to witness that little encounter so I would bet that he had.

"That was Nick Coleman. He rolled his eyes

"Dick" I mused for a second... Yes definitely has possibilities for a nickname."

With that Wesley erupted in laughter and I couldn't help but laugh with him, what can

I say? His laughter was contagious!

"We tend to go with Dick Jerkman, but I'll give you credit seeing as you're a new and all. He mimicked with a grin.

We were in the class by now and Wesley sat down behind a desk and began staring intently at me-As if he was thinking hard about something.

"Is anyone sitting here?" I asked him unsure.

"Not anymore." He smiled and then focused his attention on something behind me.

"You can find somewhere else to sit, right

Chase?" It was then that I noticed the boy standing behind me. I turned my head to

take a look at him, noticing how he had dark brown hair and dark eyes which worked well with his tanned skin.

"Yeah, it's...fine" Chase shrugged, but he wasn't looking at Wesley, he was looking intently at me with a weird look in his eyes. Confusion? Recognition? I wasn't sure.

"Chase." He introduced himself "Have we met before?" He frowned slightly like he was trying to put something together in his head.

"Um, no I don't think so. I only moved here a few days ago." I reassured him, watching as he shook his head slightly as if trying to get rid of the thought.

Wesley's POV

She was totally beautiful, but I couldn't help but think I'd already met her. Those blue eyes, I was sure I had seen already.

To say I was confused was an understatement, I was nearly 100% sure I was right. I mean even her scent was familiar, though her voice wasn't. Weird.

Who was this girl?

I felt myself vibrate, and I took out my phone

Chase-9:34

Who is she?

I swear I've met her b4, it's fucking stranger See! It wasn't just me. I knew I'd seen her before, but where?

"Wes, do you have a rubber?" She whispered, nickname? I like it, wait! "What?!" I whispered with wide and amused eyes... what did she just ask me for?

"Oh! Shoot!" Her blue eyes bulged as she clasped her hand to her mouth, blushing profoundly. "I meant eraser." She giggled. Aw, she was cute when she was embarrassed!

"In, England we call an eraser a..." She blurted before I cut her off.

"I figured" I laughed, "but no I don't have

an eraser, but I do have....." I trailed off before she hit my arm shaking her head.

"You're such a guy!"

"I am the last time I checked I laughed back

"Hey babe, I've got a condom with your name on it honey if you're still in need?"

I watched as Mike Andrews, one of the schools resident players turn in his seat to smirk at Skylar

"Oh, you must be mistaken, my names not Durex extra small" She grinned evilly back, now totally composed. Gosh, this girl was good! I didn't realize I was laughing until I heard my name being shouted from the front of the class.

"WESLEY and ...?" I immediately stopped laughing to lock at Mr. Bailey as he looked down at Skylar. She was now wearing the cutest expression on her face, as she tried to consume her laughter by hiting her lip.

"Um, Skylar Evans... Sir." She numbled.

"Well, I must say you're not making a good first impression young lady" He tutted and shook his head before he turned his attention to me. "Oh and Wesley, do you think I could have a word with you after class?" He almost grunted, oh how I hate this teacher! Why can't he just leave me alone!

"Not really, I've been assigned to show

Sky to her classes" I lied. There was no way I was passing her up so she could get grabbed by any other person in this school who owned a dick. No way!

"Oh, I see. I just wanted to ask if your brother had decided to come back from his wonder arund the Continent?" he asked sarcastically. Mr. Bailey hated my brother nearly as much as I did.

"He's coming hack in a few days" I shrugged with a frown on my face, I wished my asshole of a brother would just stay wherever the hell he was for the rest of eternity, but of course that's not possible seeing as he's got his army of mutts to order about. My stupid brother was the alpha to one strongest army of wolfs in the continent-leaving me of course with the smaller four-man pack! Oh yeah did I mention I was a werewolf

Three Chapter Three: June and bad chat up lines

Skylar's POV

I didn't speak to Wesley again during the lesson. I can't believe I had just been told off on my first day! 1 was never bad, I was never told off in my school in England, I was the understated quiet girl who sat at the back and just got on with it. I was never the one to be told off for messing around -especially on my first day!

As soon as the bell rang, I collected up my stuff and just kind of stood there for a second unsure as to whether Wesley was going to show me to my next class - or whether he'd just said that to get Mr. Bailey off his back.

"Where's your next class?" He smiled at me, and I noticed chase was now standing behind him- staring at me again.

"Science, with um... Mrs. Ramsey" I read off of the small piece of paper with my schedule written on it.

"Okay, it's on the way to the gym so I'll take you." He said as he absentmindedly took hold of my hand and led me down the corridor.

"Um, Wes?" I asked trying to ignore all the stares and glares I was getting.

"What?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Um hand, let go." I pointedly looked down at our intertwined hands.

"Oh sorry" He laughed slightly as he let go. I just shook my head in mild amusement but otherwise, let it slide.

We'd only been walking for a minute before a guy stood in front of me, ultimately blocking my path. He completely ignored Wesley as he addressed me.

"Hey beautiful"

"Um hey" I mumbled as I looked into his emerald green eyes, which looked kind of animal-like against his tanned skin, and messy brown hair.

"I'm Levi" he grinned wickedly.

"I'm trying to get to class" I retorted

"I'm naked under these clothes." He smirked suggestively. I could tell that girls rarely said no to him. Guy's don't get that confident for no reason.

"Prove it." I said seductively, did I mention that I hate these types of guys?"...To someone else who actually cares." I grinned taking hold of Wesley's hand and walked off, leaving an opened mouthed

Levi starring after us. Yes someone was definitely not used to being REJECTED!

Wesley walked me right up to the door of my science room, earning me many disgusted glares for the girls watching from inside the classroom. Great, I doubt I was going to make many girlfriends seeing as they seemed to hate me already!

"I'll see you later." He smiled and then. did something that shocked me, he bent down slightly and kissed my cheek before turning away and walking back the way we'd come.

Ok, that was weird.

I walked in the class trying hopelessly to ignore the stares - yet again as I looked for a free seat. I can't be that interesting surely to goodness! I mean this school really knows how to make a girl feel welcome!

Not.

I spotted an empty seat at the back of the class next to a girl with curly brown hair and warm chestnut colored eyes. She was rather pretty in an unconventional way, someone which I doubted Nick and Levi, and possibly Chase would go for, for a quickie. But definitely someone a guy would take home to impress the parents.

She actually smiled at me as I took the seat beside her.

"Hey" she whispered shyly.

"Hey" I smiled back at her. "Um my names Sky, I'm new here."

"I know." She shrugged

"Oh" I pursed my lips, ok what now?

"No, sorry I didn't mean It like that, I meant I know because like the whole school is talking about you." She blurted out.

"Oh, great" I muttered, "Could you tell me when that's going to stop?" I asked and she giggled.

"Don't you like being the center of attention?" She asked surprised.

"NO" I stared at her with wide eyes "of course not it's horrible"

"Oh, I just thought..." She shook her head slightly and then blushed embarrassment.

"What?" I prompted

"Just you look..."

"What you think because of my appearance, I love boy's perverted comments every few seconds?" I asked incredulously.

"Um, kinda?" She mumbled and I shook my head

"Well I'm not like that" I grimaced.

"Sorry that was really bitchy, um I'm June and do you think we could possibly forget the last minute and start again?" She asked smiling guiltily.

"Yeah sure" I shrugged, as mad as it might seem I was used to girls acting this way, most of them didn't say sorry and try to make amends though like June did.

"Good." She smiled. "So where in England are you from?" She asked and actually sounded as If she was interested in my

answer.

"Um a place called Kent, do you know it?" I asked and she shook her head slightly.

"No, but my Aunt and cousins live in Liverpool do you know of it?"

"Yeah, I know of it" I reassured her, Liverpool was one of England's main cities.

"So have you been there before?"

"No" She admitted shyly.

"Well, this is my first time here." I shrugged.

"Really? Why are you here then?" "Um, my Gran lives here"

"Why are you living with your Gran?" She frowned and I glanced at her and then sighed.

"My parents died a few months ago" I mumbled

"Oh, I'm so sorry." she gasped. "Oh, now I feel so much worse." She muttered.

"Don't worry about it," I reassured her.

"Would you like to hang out sometime? I could show you some cool places in town if you want?" She asked playing with her hair.

"Sounds great sure."

"We could go after school tomorrow if you want?"

"Cool," I smiled. I think I have just made my first girlfriend!
