Married by Mistake
1
[System Notification: Marriage Contract #8801-Jeon executed. Parties: Jeon Jungkook, Jeon Jungguk, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung. Status: LEGALLY BOUND. Congratulations?]
The night began with laughter and ended in confusion.
Taehyung
Taehyung blinked through the haze, the taste of something sweet and suspiciously fizzy still lingering on his tongue. He was sprawled across a velvet couch in what looked like a lounge from a spaceship-themed hotel, except the walls shimmered with shifting constellations and the ceiling occasionally projected a hologram of a whale swimming through stars. His head was heavy, his mouth dry, and his memories fuzzy.
Across from him, Jimin was curled up like a cat, clutching a half-empty glass and mumbling in his sleep. His cheeks were flushed, his hair a mess, and he looked no better than Taehyung felt.
Somewhere in the distance, a robotic voice chimed, “Please hydrate. Hangover risk: 98%.”

Taehyung
Taehyung groaned, rolling onto his back. “Jimin… wake up. My brain feels like it’s been deep-fried.”
Jimin
Jimin stirred, blinking blearily. “Why does the ceiling have a whale?”
Taehyung
“I think it’s a future thing,” Taehyung muttered, rubbing his temples. “Or maybe we’re dead.”
Jimin
Jimin sat up, groaning. “If this is the afterlife, it’s got bad taste in decor.”
They both sat in silence for a moment, trying to piece together the previous night. There had been a party-no, a family dinner.
Jimin’s aunt had insisted they drink, to “celebrate new beginnings.” There was laughter, a lot of toasts, and then… blank.
Taehyung checked his wrist. A thin silver band glowed faintly-a biometric bracelet, standard in this era. It pulsed with a new icon: two interlocked rings.
Taehyung
“Uh, Jimin?” Taehyung nudged his friend.
Taehyung
“Does your wrist look weird?”
Jimin
Jimin squinted at his own bracelet, then yelped.
Jimin
“What the-no, no, no, no! This is the marriage bond icon! Why do I have the marriage bond icon?!”

Before Taehyung could answer, the door slid open with a soft hiss. Two figures entered, both tall, both dressed in sleek, dark suits that looked like they belonged on the cover of a fashion magazine from the future. Their faces were obscured by the low light, but their presence was magnetic-one carried himself with icy composure, the other with a kind of bored arrogance.
Jungkook
“Awake at last,” one of them said, voice cold and smooth.
Jungkook
“Good. We have things to discuss.”
Taehyung and Jimin exchanged panicked glances.
Jimin
“Who are you?” Jimin demanded, clutching a pillow like a shield.
Jungkook
The taller of the two stepped forward, his eyes sharp and unreadable. “Jeon Jungkook. Your husband.”
Taehyung
Taehyung choked on air. “Husband? Excuse me?”
The second man-slightly older, with a smirk that could freeze water-leaned against the wall and crossed his arms.
Jungguk
“Jeon Jungguk. Also your husband. Don’t get any ideas about romance-I’m not interested. This is a contract. Two years, then we’re done. Don’t fall in love with me.”
Jimin
Jimin’s jaw dropped. “Wait, wait, wait. There must be a mistake. I didn’t agree to this!”
