Edan flopped onto the bed, groaning as he shut the book closed. “Man, that was such a good story." He couldn't believe it was over. He thought he'd never find one like it. Like, sure, other stories were good too, but not quite good as the one he had just finished.

"Osian? You okay?" The voice, masculine and soft, laughed. It was a comforting sound. "You're not usually this.. Clingy."

Osian.. Huh. That was the name of the antagonist in the novel he had just finished. And was this the voice of Valory Hunter, Osian's boyfriend?

To test the waters, he muttered out, "Valory?"

"Yeah, uh, morning, Osian."

"Did you even hear me calling you?"

".. Morning." Edan panicked while he tried to come up with something Osian would absolutely say. "Hunter."

"There's my little ray of sunshine," Valory's sarcastic tone showed. Edan had to admit, it was thrilling to talk to a character who had previously been fictional.
Kaida Darrington
The door creaked open to reveal a brown haired girl, her hazel eyes shining with curiosity. ".. Mr. Foxglove?"

Edan was nearly startled at the child's appearance. This was Kaida, the youngest of House Viktorov. But was she supposed to appear so early in the story? Or perhaps this was just a behind the scenes that the book didn't cover.

He knew Osian would be slightly soft to this child, so he softened his tone and said, "oh, hello, Miss Darrington."

Valory raised a brow, smirking, but decided not to comment.

"Morning! Ivara told me to call you for a meeting with the Viktorov family."

"Ah, yes, thank you, Kaida." Edan stood up and checked a mirror. "I suppose I should get dressed up, now, should I?"

Smiling, Kaida bowed and exited the room.

"What a lovely girl that is. Shame she had to be weak in magic."

Holding up a black leather coat, he asked Valory. "Would this be.. Too much?"

Valory's eyes widened for a moment, but he remained humble. "No, I don't think so."

He bit his lip, but schooled his expression into calmness. "I.. I think that would be overwhelming, to say the least."

Snorting, Edan- no, Osian, put the coat back and held out a more appropriate outfit. A black buttoned shirt with a long cape, smooth jet pants and gloves.

"That's much, much better," he smirked.

"Yes, well.. You've already dressed up?"
Valory Hunter
"Yes. I was about to wake you up for breakfast, but it seems a meeting has interrupted our plans."

"No, no. You can get breakfast- I'll go ahead." Osian turned to leave.

"Osian, I appreciate the concern, but I am kind of your assistant."

".. Ah. Right." Osian held out a hand for Valory to link his with, and together they headed for the Viktorov Hall.
