The Cursed Womb {Omegaverse}
The Princess Heir
Queen Agatha sat tall on a large throne-like chair, with silent guards standing beside her.
A thin, dusty boy was pushed forward toward the queen.
Agatha looked at the boy with sharp eyes
Agatha
You must be the child she left behind
she said coldly as she motioned to the guards
Agatha
Bring me the pouch he carries
Eliott stayed quiet, clutching his hands nervously, hope flickering in his eyes.
The guards stepped forward and carefully took the small cloth pouch from Eliott’s trembling hands.
Agatha’s fingers tightened around the letter in her hand as a shadow of pain crossed her face.
Her daughter Isadora's handwriting stared back at her — familiar, raw, and impossible to forget
Isadora
“Mother,
I no longer have the strength to write of all your wrongs.
I, who never trusted you, ran away with the man I loved.
But fate was cruel, he left this world, leaving me with his child.
And now, I feel my time drawing near. Soon, I will follow him.
I fear my son may be next…
So I place what remains of my life in your hands.
I leave my child with you
And I ask, just this once, please… do not break that trust."
Agatha looked closely at Eliott, her gaze sharp but unreadable.
Agatha
You look nothing like her… except for your eyes.
Eliott
Mama said I should stay here.. she’ll come soon to take me home.
Agatha
Did she now.. what is your name boy?
Agatha
From this day forward, your shall be Princess Eliott.
And you will never speak of your mother again. This will be your home from now on
Eliott
(mumbling) Princess..
Agatha
Let the banquet be hosted soon to introduce the lost princess of Avaloria
Kingdom ruled by Queens
The room was quiet except for the sound of wind tapping at the window.
Eliott lied curled up under heavy embroidered blankets. The pillows were soft, but nothing smelled like home. A candle flickered near the bedside.
A maid, probably in her early 50s, sat beside him.
Eliott
(restless)
Miss Mara…? Can you stay until I fall asleep?
Mara
(smiling softly)
Of course, little one. Still feeling strange here?
Eliott
Too quiet. And the walls are too big. Feels like they might swallow me.
Mara
Castles often do that. But once you know their stories… they feel smaller.
Would you like a story?
Eliott
(turns toward her, eager)
A happy one?
Mara
(pauses)
Mmm… not quite. But an important one.
The story of how this kingdom was cursed.
Eliott blinked, now wide awake. Mara lowered her voice to a hush, almost a chant.
Mara
It began with a king…
and a man he shouldn’t have loved.
Eliott pulled the blanket tighter.
Mara
There once was a king.. brave, gentle, and young.
And there was a man. A healer. Soft-voiced. Kind.
But this man belonged to a witch… who loved him deeply.
Eliott
Did the healer love the witch back?
Mara
He tried. But hearts don't always obey.
He fell for the king.
And the king… fell harder.
Mara
They kept it secret. Met in moonlight.
But witches feel what others try to hide.
When she found them, the healer begged her for mercy.
She gave him none.
She slit his throat on the altar she built for their child.
Eliott flinched slightly. Mara softened her voice even more.
Mara
And to the king, she gave a curse.
The Witch
"You took him from me. So I shall take everything from you.
From this day on, your bloodline will bear sons… with wombs meant only to be broken.
They will love. They will be betrayed. And the child left behind will be your kingdom's shame."
Mara
The king jumped from the tallest tower the next morning.
The queen, who carried their daughter, gave birth and ruled.
And from that day on… no son lived long enough to wear the crown.
Until…
A pause.
Mara gently brushed Eliott’s hair back.
Mara
Sleep, little Princess Eliott. You may carry a curse… but you are no less precious than gold.
And maybe, just maybe…
You’ll be the one to end the story differently.
Eliott closed his eyes. The candle flickered once… and went out.
Barefoot Princess
The late afternoon sun filtered softly through the trees in the palace gardens. A group of maids and guards stood nervously beneath an old fig tree, their eyes fixed upward.
Mara, now in her sixties and still sharp-tongued, stood with her hands on her hips, shouting toward the branches.
Mara
Princess Eliott, please come down at once. You could hurt yourself.
High above, barefoot and wild-haired, Princess Eliott clung to a thick branch
His long black hair fell loosely down his back, swaying in the wind.
He looked delicate for a boy.. slim, soft-featured, with long, graceful hands and a light, slender frame.
Dressed in a pale gown now torn and dusty, he looked more like a wild princess than a royal disgrace.
His skin was smooth and fair, his lashes long, and there was a quiet glow in his eyes.
If one didn’t know the truth, they would have believed he was a truly gorgeous young woman.. untamed, bold, and beautiful even in dirt and trouble.
His gaze stayed fixed on the frightened cat meowing from the top branch.
Eliott
(gripping the branch)
Not yet. I have to get Sir Whiskers. He’s scared.
He called back, inching forward with determined hands.
Mara
We can fetch a ladder, or have the guards retrieve him. Let us handle it, Your Highness
Eliott
He’s scared. He only comes to me.
Mara muttered under her breath, clearly at her limit.
Mara
Spirits save us… He’s not even wearing shoes.
Eliott shot back with a crooked grin, never looking down.
Mara
This is no way for a princess to behave!
Mara called again, though her tone held more worry than anger.
Eliott glanced down just briefly, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Eliott
Then it’s a good thing I never asked to be one.
A few of the maids stifled gasps. Mara’s frown deepened, though something like sadness flickered across her face.
Mara
At least let someone hold a net below. If you fall--
Eliott
I won’t fall, He’s mine. I want to get him with my own hands.
Mara
Fine. Someone get a net… and maybe the court physician while you’re at it.
