Prologue-

"Ruan, come on, be quick. We don't wanna be late on our own wedding day now, do we?" Asked a man in a very soft voice.

"Lin Lin, relax. I'm done, let me just grab the car keys okay?" Said Ruan a very deep voice making Lin Lin's heart beat faster.

Seeing the blush on his boyfriend soon to be husband's face, Ruan Nanzhu smiled heartily before disappearing in the room and coming back with the same speed.

"Come on, let's go." He said and they both left holding hands.

The garage door opened and one could see a whole showroom of supercars. Ruan Nanzhu looked at Lin Lin and asked, "Which one?"

"This one, please?" Lin Lin pointed to the Rolls Royce Phantom and looked at Ruan with a pout and puppy eyes.

Ruan couldn't hold back and immediately pulled in Lin Lin for a quick kiss, leaving him in a blushing mess.

"How did you know even I planned to take the same?" He asked while showing the keys in his hand to which Lin Lin just smiled.

They both got in the car and left for the court, to finally register their marriage.

Two hours later, after getting their marriage certificates, both happily got back in the car and started driving home, unknown to the horrors that were about to destroy their happiness and separate them for good.

Half way through, Ruan felt that something was wrong with the car, he turned to look at his lover, who was looking outside the window with a smile on his face.

Ruan realised he couldn't apply brakes for the car to slow down or rather stop it. None of the brakes worked. He slowly took Lin Lin's hand in his own while his eyes were still on the road.

"Lin Qiushi, I love you so much. In my whole life I have always loved you. You are my first and my last, my only love and there won't ever be anyone, remember that, Okay?" Ruan Nanzhu said with his deep as always but there was a certain kind of heartache.

"Ruan Nanzhu, we just got married. Why does this feel like a goodbye already? What is wrong? I only love you. Our families, who treat us like the apple of their eyes also got ready to send us away here so far just so that we can live together and get married." Lin Qiushi was feeling anxious now.

"Lin Lin, my baby... (sighs and takes a deep breath), the brakes are not working. I can't even stop the car. But it won't be long before we might crash and..." Ruan stopped and, "we could die anytime!" he completed the sentence is his mind.

By now his eyes were filled with tears. Lin Qiushi's hands went cold and Ruan noticed it. Qiushi had almost grasped what his now husband was trying to tell.

"Ruan, will we die?" Lin Qiushi asked, the last word in almost a whisper.

"I promise I won't let anything happen to you. I will protect you till the end of either my life or yours. But if anyone of us has to live, let's promise to live happily and not give up on life, okay?" Ruan asked Qiushi to promise.

Even though Lin Qiushi hesitated and didn't agree at first, later, he squeezed Ruan Nanzhu's hand a bit and said, "I promise, now your turn." Quishi said holding back a sob, while his body trembled.

"I promise." Ruan said and looked at Lin Qiushi one last time before letting go off the steering wheel.

Ruan Nanzhu took off his seat belt and leaned in front of Lin Qiushi, and kissed him on his forehead and then his lips while they both cried.

"I, Ruan Nanzhu, promise you, Lin Qiushi, if anyone of us has to survive this, it will be you. Let me be selfish and save you one last time. Hate me as much as you can, don't forgive me ever, but don't forget me, please. Please don't fall for anyone else. Live well and happily. I love you forever, my baby." Ruan Nanzhu promised silently and as he finished, the car went out of control.

It hit the side rails along the road and breaking through, collapsed down the bridge into the lake..

"I love you, Qiushi."

"I love you, Nanzhu."

They both said simultaneously as the car hit the rocks and then fell into the lake.

10 Years Later.....

[[[ASIA TV: RUAN NANZHU, the only son of the biggest entertainment company in China, who had suddenly disappeared after the tragic accident 10 years ago, is finally said to be returning home to take over the empire worth billions as the sole heir, supposedly taking over the position of CEO after his father steps down.]]]

"Ruan Nanzhu? Who is this guy? And what accident are they talking about?"

"That's not important.. This guy will take over the RN Entertainment Co. as the CEO as soon as he comes??"

"What does he know about the industry? And where was he gone for last 10 years? Disappeared in thin air?"

"Rich spoiled kids, his life is settled now. He won't have to work or even move a finger. He can just lie down and enjoy!!"

There were talks about this mysterious guy, Ruan Nanzhu, who has disappeared after the accident 10 years ago, and suddenly was coming back. But coming back from where?

Where was he all this time? What did he do? And why is he coming back now?

The whole entertainment circle was blown up by this news. Not to mention, the man who thought he had lost the love of his life in that horrific accident from the past had also heard of this news.

And the first thing he did was go to RN Entertainment Co. 

The memory of that day was still fresh in his mind. 10 years, it had been 10 years!!!

How did he manage to live without his Ruan for 10 years?

Because of that one promise he made. 

Flashback 10 years ago-

Lin Qiushi, who had married Ruan Nanzhu and were together returning home, had returned to hell. After he woke up on the third day, first thing he asked was,

"Nanzhu? Where is Ruan Nanzhu? Where is my husband?"

The doctors thought he that as he had already suffered an injury to his head, this might be the post traumatic incident effects. It was normal for the people to act foolish or hallucinate. They gave him a psychological examination but everything was fine.

"I believe your name is Lin Qiushi? We didn't find the person you are asking for. Instead, is there anyone else whom you would like to call, as you family?" The doctor had asked him and he nodded giving them the contact number.

Next day, even before his parents arrived, the whole of hospital entrance was filled with various media channels and paparazzies. The hospital wasn't a small hospital, it was also the biggest hospital in the city, but still it wasn't that big to attract so much media coverage and attention from people.

The hospital authorities were all running around like mad dogs to get the situation in control. And just when they had managed to get the crowd under control, five Rolls Royce Cullinans rolled up at the entrance.

The administrator: "Do we have any update yet on what's happening at our hospital?"

The PR manager: "Sir, no idea. We still don't know if we have got any high profile patient in our hospital. I have checked last 24-36 hours records, but there's no one. Our department is going nuts right now. Nothing of this scale has ever happened."

The administrator: "Hm. That is right, nothing like this has happened. Wait, those cars- F*ck!! That's The Lin Family!!! Come on, call everyone and go to receive them." 

The administrator panicked and the PR manager immediately ran off without asking anything.

AT THE HOSPITAL ENTRANCE-

"Hello, Mr. Jiang, you're here. What's the update on my son? How is he?" Mr. Lin, also Lin Qiushi's father asked the administrator who looked like he had no idea.

One of the assistant rushed to the reception. "Hello, which room is Mr. Lin Qiushi in, the one who came after car accident- um, yeah, it was three day ago." 

The receptionist quickly typed the name in the system and checked through her records and a bright smile showed up on her face, "Yes, found him. Lin Quishi, 22, Male, Car crash at the H bridge, he is in Room 1072. Please take the first right from here and walk go up to the 10th floor. Once you get out, take the left and walk straight, it should be there." 

The assistant smiled at her, "Thank you so much" and hurried back to his Boss.

"Boss, this way please..." And Mr. Lin followed the assistant to see his beloved son.

"Honey, Qiushi, he..." Mrs. Lin who was quiet until now, suddenly held her husband's hand tightly and asked with tears in her eyes.

"Darling, please don't worry, Xiao Lin will be fine. I am worried about Xiao Ruan. He has very severe injuries, he might wake up or not, I don't know how to face Xiao Lin when he asks about him. Please, will you help me? We have to keep our promise to Xiao Ruan's family so that both our boys will be fine. Okay?" And Mrs. Lin quickly wiped he tears and made her heart strong to put on the act with her husband.

The lift door opened with a ding  sound and the assistant led the group to the room. He knocked once on the door and heard a soft 'come in'  and he pushed the door open.

"Assitant Liu, good you came, please help me find Ruan Nanzhu." Lin Qiushi said smiling brightly, but his smile dropped when he saw his parents come in.

"Paa, Maa, you-" Lin Qiushi broke in tears and was about to get off bed, but his both parents rushed to the bed and held their only son tightly in a hug. 

While mother Lin sobbed hard, father Lin stood there, patting his son's head, thinking how he will lie to his beloved son. He rubbed his forehead and then looked up firmly.

"Xiao Lin, we have a news for you. Ruan- they didn't find him. They only found you in the car. His parents along with the Search & Rescue Team, The Deep Divers, The Police, all have been searching for him for last 3 days, but nothing found." And Qiushi couldn't even speak a word.

"Wh- Paa, I just married him. How- You know how much I- I won't be able to live without him. Maa, I can't... Please call all our people, and ask them look once more for me. Ruan was with me. He saved me by leaning in front of me, other wise I would have been more hurt.. Please Paa, Maa.. Please save my Ruan.." Lin Qiushi pleaded while hugging his mom and holding his father hand tight.

All were helpless, his whole family was present at this moment with him, but no one was able to comfort him or stop him from crying. 

Ruan's Mom & Dad, after sending Ruan Nanzhu to America for treatment, came back to see Qiushi. Both hugged him and told him to be strong and live happily for his Ruan. Even though their hearts broke while lying to Qiushi, they had to do this.

Qiushi remembered his promise to Ruan before their car crashed, and kept his promise. He lived his life happily, missing Ruan, and never gave upon  looking for him.

Qiushi got into entertainment industry and soon became the TOP ACTOR. But his success became a thorn in many's path, he ended up being caught in rumors for doing something he never even thought of his dreams. At last, he just left the industry and stayed home, while helping his family in the business. 

Flashback Ended....

Qiushi opened the door to the office and saw Ruan's father at the desk. When the elder saw him, his heart broke and he stood up and walked upto Qiushi. 

Qiushi took off his glasses, mask and hat. He eyes were swollen red from crying. He must have remembered everything. The elder's heart pained looking at his condition.

"Paa, Ruan- he is alive?" Qiushi asked and the elder engulfed him in a hug immediately while patting his back to comfort him.

"Yes, he is alive!" 

"Yes, he is alive!" The elder told Lin Qiushi while patting his back.

A sob escaped Quishi's mouth, which he had been holding back for so long. His body trembled in his father-in-law's arms and the elder understood how difficult it had been for the child all these 10 years.

In fact, both of Ruan's mother and father, stayed in touch with Lin Qiushi and his family for all the 10 years. Just because Qiushi had made them all promise that they wouldn't interfere in his life and let him live as he wished, no one said a word or tried to clear his name, even when he was caught in the whirpool of some horrible rumours.

Lin Qiushi has accumulated a huge fanbase for himself with over a 80 millions followers on weibo, and other social networking sites. These fans were so protective of their artist. They all collectively gave him the name of Xiao Mao which means Little Cat. One word against their Xiao Mao and all fans would go on rampage. And just like that, before completely vanishing from the entertainment industry, Qiushi in his last live told his fans,

"I don't care what the world says or what rumours they spread about me. As long as you believe me, I will definitely make myself strong again and come back for you all. Even though I am leaving now, it's not because I am guilty or I accept the rumours, it's because I am tired. And I know you all are tired as well. You all have been fighting for me against the world for so long. Now, let's leave it to fate, YOU and ME, let's both take some rest, live well, live happily and bless each other. I love you all and once again, I am so very sorry (deep bow.jpg)"

After that live, his fans had made sure to leave some good, comforting words along with blessings for his safety, wishing for him to return back to them safely.

Ruan's father led Qiushi to sit down on the couch and gave him some water. After drinking water and calming down, he looked up and asked only one question,

"WHY???"

The elder knew this was going to be a long day. But he was ready to come out true and tell Qiushi everything. After all, it hadn't been easy for both the families to keep this from him for so long.

Finally, the day was here and sooner or later, they had to tell Qiushi about everything, so why not now?

He dialled a number and called his assistant in.

"Boss, you called?" The assistant, Xiao Wei, asked and looked in between his boss and the man sitting with his head down.

"Yes, cancel all my appointments, meeting and visits for today. If there is anything urgent at all, ask Chen Fei to go on my behalf or have a look. After all he is also going to assist the future CEO, he should start taking things seriously. Come to me, only if there is anything to be signed urgently and can't wait, okay? Ah, also, call my Boss Lady and tell her to send my lunch to office." Ruan's father signalled with his eyes towards Qiushi and the assistant understood.

"Alright, Boss. Will do it now." And Xiao Wei showed an okay sign in return.

"Qiushi, you asked me, why we kept from you that he is alive for all this while, right?" And the boy in front nodded wiping his eyes.

"The truth is always hard to accept and truth is so hurtful. As his last wish before he completely lost his consciousness, we all decided to follow it. But who knew, that once he woke up, he would forget everything, including..." Ruan's father stopped and Qiushi gazed at him, his eyes filling up with tears once more.

"Me?" He said the word after trying to say it for a minute and the elder nodded.

"Yes, he doesn't remember you or anything. He was in a coma for two years, and when he woke up, first thing he asked was, who we all were. He even forgot that we were his own parents who gave him birth. His attitude towards us changed. It took him a while to get used to us and finally after 6 months, he suddenly started feeling dizzy and he called us, Maa, Paa for the first time. As days passed he started confiding in us, talking to us. As he got to know about our business, he wanted to help me and so he studied Business Management and started to discuss stuff regarding the company matters and all about here with him on a regular basis. Suddenly, a month ago, the day after your birthday, he said, he wanted to come back home. And his mother and I, who were still thinking on how to ask him if he wanted to come home, felt relieved and immediately made arrangements." The elder told him and Qiushi could feel and understand everything.

On one hand, he felt happy because as they promised to each other, not just him, but even Ruan Nanzhu, although not remembering, kept his promise and lived a better life and was happy.

"Did he ever... I mean... I am sor.. I miss him so bad. Now that I know he has been alive for past 10 years, my heart... I... " He stopped when he couldn't speak anymore.

"Xiao Lin, I know you love him. You don't have to worry. It is now our responsibility to get you both together again. We all know how you have barely managed to live just because of that one promise. We all know.. And even if you don't realize it, all our hearts pain so badly for you, it's just that we all were helpless and we could only stay at a distance and protect you from all the dangers even before they made their way to you. We could only stay in dark and silently watch over you ensuring your safety."

"There was once an incident, where we all were discussing about you, last year, after you voluntarily decided to leave the industry for good. Ruan happened to walk in and even asked for details of the matter. We thought for a second he must have remembered you, but all our joys went down the drain, when he said that he only feels bad for the artist and that management is worst, concluding with the idea of you leaving was a good choice." The elder explained.

"Paa, what was the promise he asked to make?" With this question coming out suddenly, the elder was stunned for a while and then cleared his throat before repeating the exact words.

"He said, "Paa, Maa, if I die, don't tell Qiushi that I'm dead. Just say you never found me, or my body. That way, there will still be the hope of me returning one day and he will continue to live well. As much as I know him, even though he promised me, I know, once he knows that I'm really no more in this world, he will die too. And I can't bear that. I want him to be alive, especially because I saved him myself. Although, I am being selfish, I still, I just love him alot. You understand, right?"

Qiushi burst into crying, his whole body shaking. Ruan father immediately sent an SOS on the family group which was more like a fan group than a family group. Even the group name was "RuanLin's Happy Family" and it consisted of both the families. He then sat next to Qiushi and tried to comfort him, occasionally patting his back.

As soon as the group received the message, every single person, left what they were doing and made their way to RN Entertainment Co.

Not long after, the management team of RN entertainment had a very hard time dealing with the traffic, the press and people crowding, because just like how influential RN Entertainment was, the owner was more influential and the assets were worth billions. But the people who started arriving at the company one after another in Rolls Royce Cullinan, Lamborhini Revuelto, Maserati MC20, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, Ferrari 296 GTB, Range Rover, Pagani Zonda, McLaren Speedtail, Audi Quattro, Aston Martin Valkyrie, Bugatti Centodieci, Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, were not some ordinary people. Soon they were followed by Rolls-Royce Boat Tail and everyone knew this car very well as it was the only one in the country at the moment also driven by the Boss Lady (Ruan's Mom) herself.

Soon the internet and Weibo had exploded with #RNEntCo trending at no. 1, followed by #BossLadyarrives #SupercarsExhibitionatRNEntCO at no. 2 and no.3.

Of course, no one stopped the people who came in those cars. Everybody seemed in a hurry and rushing straight to the office of the current CEO. The security department of the company immediately called for extra help from the police department to control the crowd.

Back at the office, Qiushi had no idea what was happening outside. He was still crying while burying his face in his hands. Ruan's father's phone beeped. He felt relieved now that all the family members were outside. Lin Qiushi started suffocating a bit a he had been crying for a long time.

"Xiao Lin, there's some people outside the office. I will just open the door okay." Seeing no response, the elder just went and opened the door and let all of them inside.

Soon the room was filled with almost 50 people. But still it was so silent, you could even hear a pin drop. The room was filled with only sobs that came from Qiushi. Although, it pained each member present to see their beloved crying, no one took a step forward. Suddenly, as if feeling that the room had more people in, Qiushi slowly looked up.

This was the first time in last 6 years that he was seeing both the families gathered together. It was also because of this reason, why everybody had rushed immediately after getting the SOS text. Seeing everyone, he barely managed to and stood up rubbing his eyes. He saw everyone present and was overwhelmed.

"Qiushi..."

"Xiao Lin..."

"Xiao Ge..."

"Xiao Mao..."

All the members started greeting him and he nodded in return. Soon his parents came forward and hugged him.

"How have you been, child?" And Qiushi just nodded and said nothing.

Soon, Ruan's Mom came and kissed him on his head, "I'm sorry, baobei, Maa had to keep things from you. It's been hard on you." And Qiushi could only shake his head while hugging her back.

His uncles, aunties, cousins, also Ruan's uncles, aunties, his cousins also came one by one and gave him hugs while comforting him.

In last 10 years this was the second time Qiushi had realized how much both the families cared and loved him. He could feel the pain, he could also feel the warmth, he felt home again. And now even his beloved was about to come back. He thanked all the gods from the bottom of his heart, for returning back to him, his lost love, safe and sound. And the people who had gathered in this room at the very moment, leaving everything at hand and rushing to see him.

The SOS message sent was:

"Our Qiushi is back!!! Hurry!!!"

After what seemed like 2 or 3 hours, the atmosphere changed and Qiushi started smiling again, for the people present. And then his parents dared to ask him, while all went silent:

"Qiushi, now that you're back, will you go home with us?" And while everyone feared in their hearts thinking that he will disappear again, Qiushi nodded and said,

"Yes, let's go home. I'm tired." And every member present there visibly relaxed, letting go the breathe they realised they were holding on for long.

At the same time in United States of America, a certain someone had finished packing all his stuff and was waiting for his older cousin, Yu Liang, the only one who had stayed back with Ruan. While Yu Liang was aware of all the stuff going on in China right now. He had also received the SOS message in the group and he immediately called his long time crush, Zeng Shunxi, who was a cousin of Li Qiushi. And he had kept him on call all this while.

Ruan had seen all the trending topics in China right, he was worried what was happening and just then he came across a live footage. He clicked on the video and saw the people walking out and leaving one by one. At the very were his parents, his mom held a guy's hand.

"Who's this?" He asked the question to himself.

The live broadcast showed many big names, but there was no name of the guy whom his Maa held on. Also he was wearing hat, black mask and sunglasses. He was tall, maybe of Ruan's height and finally before getting in the car, he hugged both of Ruan's parents. Just then Yu Liang came in and froze in place when he heard the video playing.

Upon sensing someone in the room, Ruan Nanzhu looked up and saw the red eyes of his cousin, who looked like he had cried. He immediately locked his phone and put it back in his pocket.

"Yu ge, are you okay? What happened?" Ruan looked at his cousin's face like searching for answers.

Yu Liang just pulled Ruan Nanzhu in his arms and hugged him. Yu Liang was happy that finally Qiushi was back and even Ruan Nanzhu was going back. Finally, both will meet each other soon, so he was crying. But he lied straight hiding his true thoughts.

"Nothing, it's just that I spoke to my mom dad just now. Finally we are going home after so long, I was actually missing them so much and now I can't wait to see them. Nothing much to worry." He said and patted Ruan's back.

"Oh, me too, I also miss Mom Dad. Alright, it's time, should we get going?" He asked his cousin and they left.

Yu Liang looked at his figure walking out and whispered,

"Ruan, the very important person, your one and only love, your Lin Lin is waiting for you to come back. He's been waiting for you for 10 years. Don't make him wait for long now."

Soon they arrived at the airport, they checked in and finally an hour later, they were in the flight back HOME.
