In darkest shadows, my heart does cry
For love that burns, yet dare not try
Your eyes, like stars, shine bright and cold
Leaving me to wither, young and old
Like a moth consumed by flames so bright
I'm drawn to you, in endless night
My love, a tempest that cannot cease
A passion that in silence freezes
Oh, how I yearn to hold you tight
To feel your warmth, your loving light
But fate, it seems, has other plans
Leaving me with shattered hands
In this abyss of unrequited love
I'll wander, lost, in darkness above
Forever bound to this heart's despair
A love so strong, yet unshared, beyond repair
My soul, a canvas, painted red
With strokes of longing, tears unsaid
In every brushstroke, your face I see
A masterpiece of love, destined to be
And so I'll hide this love away
A secret kept, in endless gray
For in your presence, I dare not speak
Lest my heart's truth, your heart might seek.
