A CEO's UNEXPECTED SILENCE

Episode 1

hello this is my first ever story hope you like it
Rain dripped like quite grief against the glass. Not a storm, not a down pour just a slow deliberate drizzle like a sky mourning something too heavy to say aloud
The tallest building in the city stood like a crown piercing the clouds. And in its highest chamber, wrapped in shadows and glass, he stood still
A man like myth. Tall as if carved from ambition, sharp-jawed as if fate herself sculpted him from stone and command.
His tuxedo hugged his broad frame—black, clean, untouchable—like he was dressed for a war only he could win.
He didn’t move. Didn’t blink. Just stared into the glittering chaos of the city below. Lights, sirens, horns. A city screaming. But inside this cabin—silence.
His hand rested on the glass window, cold meeting colder. A man who once ruled noise, now haunted by quiet.

And his mind… it wasn’t in the boardrooms, the numbers, the deals. It was stuck—two weeks back.
Two weeks ago, life was loud. Ruthless. His. People ran when he entered. Rooms bowed to his presence. He never needed to ask—he was the kind of man people obeyed before he even spoke.
But then—he walked in.
Not with power. Not with flash. Just silence. A kind of calm that wasn’t soft, but sharp. Like a blade wrapped in velvet.

FLASHBACK-- TWO weeks ago
Two weeks ago. The rain wasn’t kind that night—it fell hard, like the sky had finally broken under pressure. Angry, relentless, wild.
Wei Zeyan gripped the wheel as his wipers fought uselessly against the blur. Then—thud. The engine gave up.
He cursed under his breath, tried the ignition again. Nothing. He pulled his phone out—dead. Completely off. “Damn it,” he hissed, jaw tightening.
He looked around. The streets were quiet, half-drowned in rain. Then he saw it—tucked into a corner between two dull buildings, a small café.

Episode 2

The glass windows glowed amber with soft yellow lights, shadows dancing gently behind them. It wasn’t much. Not polished. Not branded. But it looked… warm. Alive. Safe.
He didn’t think twice. He pushed his car door open and dashed through the rain, tuxedo darkening with every drop. His tall frame entered the café with quiet dominance, water dripping off his sleeves. Shoulders broad, presence sharp—he didn’t belong in a place this simple. But he was here.
It was 9 p.m.
He stepped in and let the warmth settle against his cold skin, eyes scanning the quiet space. Just two people behind the counter.

“Good evening, sir,” a girl’s voice greeted politely.

He looked at her—soft smile, gentle eyes—and gave a small nod.
But his gaze drifted past her.
To him.
The boy beside her, wearing a plain black cap pulled low over his face. Slim, calm, a novel open in his hands. He didn’t look up. Didn’t greet him. Didn’t even flinch. Just turned a page slowly, like Zeyan didn’t exist.

umm ignore the hair and clothes 😅
That silence. It hit him. Not loud. Not sharp. But present.
Zeyan approached the counter, gaze locked on the boy who didn’t look back.

“I’ll have a black coffee,” he said, voice calm but laced with something… curious.

The girl nodded. “Please, take a seat, sir. I’ll bring it to you.”
He sat around table a corner one, but even as he sat, his mind didn’t wander. His focus remained.
On him. The boy with the book, who didn’t ask questions, who didn’t meet eyes, who didn’t need to speak. The girl whispered to him, “Black coffee,” and he moved—without a word, without lifting his gaze.
His hands started the process—precise, practiced. Still not a glance. Still no voice.
Wei Zeyan leaned back in his chair. Something inside him stirred. Something unfamiliar.
He liked silence. But this… This silence stared back without ever looking at him.

An hour had passed. Rain still tapped gently on the windows like a lullaby meant for no one.
The girl behind the counter had said her goodbyes and left with a smile. Now, only two remained inside the warm glow of the little café.
Wei Zeyan. And him.The boy still hadn’t looked at him.
Zeyan waited, pretending to check his phone, sip his now-cold coffee, glance out the window. But what he was really doing—was waiting.
Waiting for the boy to finally speak. To acknowledge him. To say, “We’re closing, sir.” But he didn’t. Not a word. Not a glance.
He simply moved—cleaning the counter with soft, efficient motions. So quiet. So unbothered. Like Zeyan was nothing but background furniture.
Then—he lifted his hand and slowly removed his cap. And Zeyan… forgot how to breathe.
His mouth parted slightly, stunned. It hit him like lightning striking water—this boy was beautiful.
His mouth parted slightly, stunned. It hit him like lightning striking water—this boy was beautiful.
Not in the usual, polished way. Not like models or screens. He was the kind of beautiful that snuck up on you… like a secret.
His skin was pale and smooth, almost glowing under the dim lights. Delicate jawline, but not weak. A quiet strength rested there. His lashes were long, casting soft shadows beneath his eyes—eyes that still hadn’t looked at Zeyan. His lips—plump, natural, a gentle pink like untouched rose petals. His nose, perfectly shaped, almost poetic. Hair a little brownish, soft, a little messy from the cap—but it suited him. There was something untouched about him, like a boy from a dream who’d never stepped into the chaos of the world.
Zeyan was frozen. The boy moved with calm grace, wiping down each table without ever lifting his gaze. Then, as if Zeyan wasn’t there, he returned behind the counter, opened his book again, and resumed reading
Unbothered. Unaffected. Unreachable.
Zeyan couldn’t take his eyes off him. He looked at the wall clock. Nearly 10:30.
The boy finally stood, closed the book, and picked up the café keys. Still—no words. No glance. No irritation. Just silence.
Zeyan, unsure why he even felt so awkward, stood up slowly and gave a soft cough—an attempt, maybe, to draw attention. The boy didn’t react.

Still facing the counter, eyes on his book, he simply lifted one hand— And pointed toward the door.
No words.Zeyan understood.
He nodded to no one and walked out slowly, rain still falling, city still buzzing around him.
The door clicked shut behind him.
Lights inside the café turned off one by one. Then the boy stepped out, locked the door, slipped the keys in his pocket— And walked away.
Without looking back. Without once meeting Zeyan’s eyes. And yet… That silence followed Zeyan all the way home.
