Prologue
A tale of woe, mystery and myth
In a kingdom set on the grave of many lies and truths untold
In the kingdom of Kayadith
Legions of land, covered in prosperity reserved only for those already rich.
For suffering, like the most devoted stain, had pledged to never let go of the clothes of the poor
But time lightens all stains
It also blurs the lines that the laws of men have so brilliantly drawn.
So, after a century of its establishment, the Kayadith Royal Academy witnessed the first blur of it's lines— a commoner.
Asper Davis, a mere nobody, an orphan, only aged 18, had managed to clear the scholarship test that even the most brilliant minds had failed to pass.
Thus entered he through the gates of the academy with pride in his eyes and a more unearthed feelings lying deep in his heart.
His entrance would not be welcomed, for nobility, like a peacock, boasted in it's aloof superiority. Having a commoner amongst them was enough wound to the pride, expecting them to acknowledge him as their equal? Don't make me laugh.
But, did he really care to be equal with them? Did it matter?
Should it matter? The royals with their silver spoons and golden cribs will thrive no matter if he present or not but people like him can't live in the shadows— not once they have torn their dark cages to escape it.

I swallow my own thoughts, I need help. I can't afford enemies.

without waiting for a reply I bolt off with the guy from earlier right at my heel
No. I wasn't supposed to bump into him. This wasn't the plan. I wasn't supposed to ever cross paths with the crown prince let alone have him angry at me.

I try to smile at him but for some reason my lips don't move so I let it be. He watches me for a second and then leaves
He is wrong about one thing and that is for sure, no matter how hard these nobles try— I am staying.
