Let's dive into the story, LEZZZGAURRRR....
The steady sound of hospital monitors had become oddly comforting to Arzhel over the past few weeks. It wasn't that he liked hospitals - far from it - but visiting his grandfather was the only thing that made the suffocating, whitewashed walls bearable.
Dylan Callahan (ML's grandpa)
Single for twenty years, huh? What a record!
The old man croaked from the hospital bed, smirking through his oxygen mask.
Arzhel scowled as he plopped down on the chair beside him.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
For the twentieth time, stop bringing that up, old man.
Dylan Callahan (ML's grandpa)
I'm just saying.
His grandfather teased, eyes gleaming mischievously.
Dylan Callahan (ML's grandpa)
Twenty years old, good-looking, tall - not that I'm bragging about the genes - and yet no girlfriend, no boyfriend not even a scandal. Are you planning to become a monk?
Dylan Callahan (ML's grandpa)
At this point, even ghosts might pity you.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Wow. Thanks. Super supportive.
It was the same routine every visit. Arzhel would drop by after college, gramps would crack jokes about his love life - or lack of one - and Arzhel would pretend to be annoyed.
Truth was, he liked hanging out with the old man. Gramps was one of the few people who didn't expect Arzhel to be anything other than himself.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
I'll come by tomorrow.
Arzhel said, standing up and adjusting the straps of his backpack.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Try not to flirt with the nurses too much.
Dylan Callahan (ML's grandpa)
No promises.
Arzhel shook his head, smirking as he left the room.
When the automatic doors slid open, he was hit by the sharp scent of rain. It poured so heavily, it blurred the parking lot and turned the city lights into smudged, trembling dots.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Great. Just what I needed.
Muttering, curses under his breath, Arzhel shoved his hands into his jacket pockets, squinting at the downpour. But he stepped out, something made him pause.
In the distance, barely visible through the curtain of rain, a lone figure sat on a bench. No umbrella. No jacket. Not even flinching at the cold droplets soaking him through.
His head was tilted back slightly, letting the rain fall over his face as if he belonged to it.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Who the hell sits outside in this weather?
Part of him wanted to ignore it and leave - the smarter part - but something about the boy's stillness...the strange loneliness in the way he sat there, unmoving, gnawed at him.
With an annoyed sigh, Arzhel grumbled.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Dumbass's gonna catch a cold.
He trudged over, pulling the spare umbrella from his bag, and without a word, left it beside the side.
The boy turned, his wide, surprised eyes locking onto Arzhel's for a split second. They were oddly bright, even in the rain.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Get under some shelter, idiot.
Arzhel didn't wait for 'thank you'. He just turned and walked away, muttering under his breath about random weirdos in the rain.
Should've been the end of it.
But the night was just getting started.

ep 2
Arzhel wasn't scared of anything.
Not spiders, not the dark, not even those curse group projects where you're stuck doing everything yourself. He was that guy who'd jump off rooftops into pools for a dare and laugh in detention.
And tonight, the universe decided to mess with him.
Arzhel shifted in his bed, an uncomfortable weight pressing against his chest. He groaned awake at midnight, turning over, the heaviness refusing to let him drift back to sleep.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Ugh...what now?
His eyelids fluttered open and ready to cuss out whatever it was.
There was a boy standing at the foot of his bed.
Pale. Dripping wet hair. Big eyes staring straight at him like something out of those horror documentaries your idiot friends make you watch at 2am.
Arzhel backed up so fast he fell off the bed with a solid thud, scrambled into the corner of his room like some horror movie final girl, and silently screamed for a solid thirty seconds, waving his arms like he was trying to fight off a swarm of bees.
The boy, still sitting on the edge of Arzhel's bed tilted his head in surprise. His damp-looking hair clung to his face as if he'd just stepped out of the rain.
Arzhel continued soundlessly shierking, eyes so wide that they might pop out. He pointed a trembling finger.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Wha-Wha-Who the hell-?! How-?!
After a solid minute of silent horror-movie flailing, Arzhel finally paused. Something about those eyes...he recognized him.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Wait.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
No way...
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
You- you're the weirdo from the hospital.
Arzhel managed to choke out, his voice hoarse.
The boy blinked at him, visibly surprised.
Zayden Lorenz(MC)
So...you really can see me.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
(frown) See you? What are you talking about? I can see you- you're literally in my room in the middle of the night, freak.
The boy's expression twisted into something between relief and wonder.
Zayden Lorenz(MC)
No one else has been able to...not since...well...you're the first.
Arzhel's stomach dropped.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
The boy gave him a soft, almost sad smile.
Zayden Lorenz(MC)
I'm...kind of a ghost. Or a spirit. Or something like that.
Arzhel tried to laugh it off, but it came out sounding like a dying duck.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
H-Hah...good one. Real funny, man. You-you're joking, right?
To his horror, the boy stood up. Calmly. And as he stepped forward, his entire body passed through Arzhel's desk like mist.
Arzhel's soul left his body.
He screamed again - still soundless, because apparently his brain was too fried for real noise now - then promptly passed out face-first dramatically on the floor.
The boy stared down at him, wide-eyed.
Zayden Lorenz(MC)
...Was that too much?
Author
Boy...I'd passed out too.
ep 3
Instead, he found himself sprawled awkwardly on the floor by his bedroom door, hair mess, one sock missing.
He rubbed the back of his head, confused as hell.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
...What the hell was that dream?
He muttered, stumbling to his feet.
What he didn't notice was the umbrella resting neatly on his desk.
He walked downstairs toward the kitchen like he hadn't collapsed from ghost-induced trauma a few hours ago. Hair messy, wearing a hoodie, one shock missing.
inside, the rest of the family sat like a magazine ad for 'The Perfect Life' - his dad reading the paper, his mom sipping coffee elegantly, his older brother scrolling his tablet, and his sister checking herself out the phone camera.
Arzhel, the family's official walking disappointment, rule-breaker, chaos incarnate, spoiled youngest child of the wealthy family, dropped into his usual seat at the end of the table.
His sister's eyes flicked up from her phone, catching sight of his hair sticking out like a bird's nest and the world-weary expression on his face.
She immediately burst out laughing.
Lara Callahan (ML's sister)
Holy hell, Arzhel, you look like you wrestled a ghost and lost.
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Shut up, Satan's secretary.
Arzhel shot back, grabbing a piece of toast.
Lara Callahan (ML's sister)
Aw, did Casper spook you?
Arzhel Callahan (ML)
Casper would be less horrifying than your face in the morning.
Lara Callahan (ML's sister)
You wish you could handle this level of gorgeous.
She smirked, flipping her hair dramatically.
Their big brother grinned behind his mug, watching the familiar sibling bickering like his favorite morning show.
Their mother let out a tired sigh, not even glancing up.
Cleo Callahan (ML's mom)
For the love of God, can we have one breakfast without turning it into a cage fight?
Then came the signature move.
Their father cleared his throat - a single, sharp sound sliced through the chaos like a blade.
The house felt silent in an instant.
Both Arzhel and Lara glared at each other one last time before begrudgingly returning to their food.
The perfect picture of a family.
On the surface.
But under the table?
Arzhel kicked his sister's shin.
She kicked back.
Big bro grinned wider.
And mom muttered something about needing stronger coffee.
