There are two types of people in life, the ones that live because they were given the privilege to and the ones that live because they have a purpose.

My name is John Smith, I am a survivor born in Zuthara after the ambush from our rivals, we moved to earth where we were able to live and stay safe but unfortunately those rivals didn't stop chasing.

The Enceladusians made a habit of picking on us and destroying our properties but since we moved to earth, we've had peace but that too was short lived.

Our people fought hard for the safety of the nine gifted children and they had to pay with their lives so that we could be safe.

My guardian Henry Smith, who acts as my father, told me about the eighteen people that escape from Zuthara and he has given them all numbers.

Each number had a guardian who helped to increase their powers mine was Henry.

I am number four and I know that after number three gets killed, I'm next.

I was out water boarding when I heard the scream of a lady drowning so I jumped into the water trying to save her but instead,I saw a vision of number three getting brutally murdered.

After the vision, I came out of the water with my left leg glowing very brightly that it burned.

We Zutharains are all connected mostly the nine of us, when number one died, I had a scare.

Same for number 2 and now number 3 which means I'm next.

I met up with Henry and told him that number three had died and he told me that we had to move.

Running away is the only option we have if we want to stay alive so we ran to paradise.

Where we believed that the Enceladusians couldn't find us" Henry, would we ever stop running?" I asked and he just chuckled" Son, will the Enceladusians ever stop looking for us?" He asked and I shook my head and he smiled" Then we will keep running until you are safe" He said and rumpled my his hand.

The nine of us had to split up because if we stick together, then it would take that Enceladusians a one time search to find us and we can't risk us all getting killed at once.

On getting to the apartment, Henry forged a certificate that would help me enroll in a school nearby and we both drove there.

The school was well equipped but I was still scared that I could get attacked" So John how old are you?" The principal asked and I looked at Henry who gave me a reassuring smile" 18 ma'am" I said and she smiled" Okay I've gone through all your results and I liked what I saw so welcome to our school" she said and I smiled" Okay let me give you two a minute" she said and walked out leaving just me and Henry" What if I get attacked?" I asked and he placed his hand on mine" There's something I need to tell you.

When we were still in Zuthara, there were three of you who possessed supernatural powers" He said and I looked at him confused" Number 3,6 & 9 but now that number 3 is dead, his powers have been passed to you" He said and I looked at him questioningly" So you're saying I have powers" I asked and he nodded" I have to go now there are things that need to be taken care of" He said and left.

The principal came back with a female student and her parents and took her sit" Please try and teach her to stop posting things that illegal" the principal said and the parents of the student apologised and promised to do as she have said" Now Susan please take John to his locker" The principal said and Susan agreed.

She walked me to my locker and looked at me" Just be careful pretty boy" she said and walked away.

I was putting things in my locker when some boys came and taped me" Hey you're new here right? I'm Bryan this is Collins and Charles we just wanted to welcome you.

And If you need anything please don't hesitate to ask" Bryan said and I nodded but as they were walking away they jammed a boy's head inside his locker and he fell down but they just walked away laughing.

I walked towards the boy and helped him up and he just dusted his body and started walking away" Hey are you okay?" I asked and he just turned to face me" I'm fine thank you.." He said" John Smith and you are..." I asked and he just said" Sam" and walked away.

The rest of the day was boring but I got home at about half past seven and it was raining so I was wet.

I came across a stray dog and decided to keep him but as soon as I entered the house Henry frowned" A wet dog, Seriously?" He asked and I just smiled at him" Hey buddy, lose the dog now" He said but I just took it upstairs and dried it" I'm going to name you Smith" I said to the dog and smiled" I said I don't want that Dog" Henry said and I frowned at him" But I'll need someone to talk to" I said and he shook his head" Then talk to me" He said and I made a face that read gross" Fine keep the dog" He said and I smiled

I woke up the next morning very early because I had to drive to school.

At school, I met Sam and greeted him but he didn't answer me so I chased after him" Hey dude, I was talking to you but you didn't answer" I said placing my hand on his shoulder but he pushed it off" Look it's very simple, I am the worse person to be friends with alright so just let me be" He sadi and walked away.

The rest of the morning was boring until we had lunch break, a girl from my class was sitting alone and I decided to sit close to her because that was the only vacant table left. I sat quietly and peacefully eating my food stealing occasional glances at her until she caught me" Hey, you're the new kid right?" She asked and I nodded" John smith" I said and she smiled" Well, you can call me Sarah Wade" she said and I smiled at her.

We were eating our food but kept stealing slight glances at each other until we were both stuck in each other's eyes" So John, do you have any plans for tonight?" She asked and snapped me out of my haze" Not really, I'm just a kid who hangs with his dad alot" I said and she chuckled" Okay if you don't have any plans, I would like you to come have dinner with me and my family.

My parents always say I don't have friends but I want to prove them wrong" she said and I paused" Seriously, you don't have any friends?" I asked and she just frowned at me" You don't have to be rude about it okay" She said and I laughed" Well I'm no better than you, my only friend is the one sitting right in front of me" I said and she looked down trying to hide her smile" You want me to be your friend?" She asked and I nodded" Why not, I mean it's not everyday I get to bump into a cute girl" I complimented and she smiled" I know you here that alot" I said but she paused and looked at me" Actually I don't" she said with a hint of hurt in her voice" Well, I hereby promise that as long as I remain your friend, I will always tell you how beautiful you are" I said and we both laughed.

Later that evening, I arrived at the front of their house and rang the doorbell" Hey there" Her younger brother Mark said and I shook his hand" John so glad you could make it" Sarah said hugging and I managed to hug her back but it made me feel uncomfortable but also warm and happy" John this is my mom Margaret and my dad Jacob.

Mom, dad, this is John Smith, he's my classmate but also my friend" she said and I smiled at them as we exchanged pleasantries.

After the meal, we ended went up to her room and I saw pictures hunged on ropes all around the room" What exactly do you do?" I asked and she chuckled and showed me a camera set and I realised that she was a photographer" These pictures look amazing though, you're really go at this" I said and she just smiled and sat on her bed.

I found a stool beside the bed and sat opposite her.

I was looking through pictures when I saw a photo album and I picked it up" What's this?" I asked but she just quickly closed it back and tried taking it" Sorry but it's kind of private" she said and I placed my hand on the hand she had on the book" Don't worry" I said and she slowly let go.

I looked through the book and it was pictures of her that she tried avoiding" So you're allowed to take pictures but you don't want people to see your face" I said and she laughed" I'm a photographer, it's my job to take pictures of other people and not myself" she said and I just looked at her smiling" You should be taking pictures of your self more because of every girl I've come across you Sarah are the most beautiful" I said and she just paused looking at me.

We were about to kiss when her brother opened the door and immediately closed it" I'm so sorry, I'll come back" He said and I just stood up and opened the door for him to come in" What did you need?" She asked and he looked at her apologetically" Dad wanted to ask if you could tell John to bring his parents to the carnival this Saturday" he said and I nodded and he ran out of the room" I could tell my dad if he would agree to come" I said and she looked at me confused" What about your mom, she could come" she said but I smiled sadly" Oh my mom's dead" I said and she stood up and looked at me as if she was staring into my soul" I'm so sorry, I didn't know" she said" It's okay, I've gotten over it" I said and she just hugged me.

I got ready to go and Sarah walked me out and hugged me again" Have a goodnight John" she said" You too" I said before releasing myself from the hug.

Man, I really have to get used to her hugs.

The next day on getting to school, I walked to my locker and I saw Sam walking towards me" Hey bro, how are you doing?" I asked and he stopped and turned around" You really can't take a hint can you?" He asked and I scoffed" Can't you just stop trying to be rude, I can see the goodness in your eyes" I said and his shoulders dropped" I know, I over did it but I don't want anyone to treat you the way these bullies treat me" He said and I smiled at him" We are good bro" I said and he went to his locker.

We both opened our locker but we were greeted by a strawberry splash straight to the face and the whole school bursted out laughing.

Bryan and his gang came back and stood behind me" You shouldn't have crossed my path" He said and I wasted no time in punching him across the face.

His gang tried attacking me but he stopped them" Look John, for you to be a good right back footballer, you have to learn how to be patient and tolerate certain things" He said and I stepped back" Now that's what I'm talking about, learn how to take noted like everybody else does" He said walking away.

While inside the class, Bryan kept on picking on me until I turned back and slapped him across the face but my hands were glowing like they were flashlights so I ran to the toilet.

They kept on glowing and I struggled trying to stop it but it just kept getting worse until both my hands met each other and I collapse in the toilet.

When I came to, I saw Henry who looked like he was typing something on his laptop" What the hell happened?" I asked and he turned around and pulled off his glasses" Yore awake good.

Your powers have finally manifested and it might take some mastering but you'll get the hang of it and soon, very soon" He said and touched my head" Your temperature is normal now so just rest, the principal would like to see you tomorrow" He said and I layed down and rested my head until I slept again.

On getting to school the next day, we went straight to the principal's office and she sat both Henry, me and Bryan down" Well thanks for coming Mr. Smith, its an honour to have you here once again" she said and Henry nodded" I don't think I have to tell you why you're here right?" Dhe asked and I nodded" What really happened John?" She asked me and I sighed" Well nothing I can really say.

I got to school yesterday and I was welcomed by a strawberry bath and he also tried bullying me in the class" I said and she exhaled heavily" So I heard you punched and slapped him yesterday" she said and I quickly agreed" So Bryan do you agree to all these allegations?" She asked and he nodded" So what was your motives for these events?" She asked and I smiled that I was finally going to hear what made him attack me.

" Well as you all know, I have anger issues and my anger only gets worse when someone touches what's mine" He said and I scoffed" Okay that will do, please John try not to cross paths with him again to avoid leading to another fight" she said and dismissed us both.

I bumped into Sam and he dragged me into the toilet" Do you know why Bryan attacked you?" He asked and I sighed" I'm so sorry man, I should've listened to you" I said but he shook his head" It's not that.

It's because of Sarah" He said and I looked at him confused" Sarah's his ex and he hasn't gotten over her. So I'd advise you stay away from her" He said and I agreed.

No wonder he said I touched what was his.

I can't believe Sarah didn't tell me this and now I have to avoid her for the sake of me and Bryan.
