Mine
Part-1
His lungs burned. The surrounding forest blurred in the dark. Branches clawed at his face like fingers trying to drag him back. Somewhere behind him, footsteps echoed—unhurried, heavy, too calm for a chase.
???
Told you not to run, Jungkook
A voice sang through the trees, low and sweet like poison honey
Jungkook’s heart pounded harder than his feet. He’d waited until Tae left the cabin, slipped out barefoot, blood still fresh on his cheek from last night’s "punishment." Tae said he did it because he loved him. Because Jungkook "belonged to him."
And once, that had sounded beautiful.
Now it sounded like a death sentence.
TAEHYUNG KIM
You said you loved me
Taehyung’s voice echoed again, closer now.
TAEHYUNG KIM
But love doesn’t run away, baby. Love stays. Love bleeds if it has to.
Jungkook stumbled, scraped his knee, kept going.
He remembered the way Taehyung used to smile—genuine, soft. Before it twisted. Before he started locking doors. Reading Jungkook’s messages. Before the bruises.
But love doesn’t just turn off.
Jungkook hated that part of him still longed for the man who brought him flowers after every beating.
Something sharp whizzed past him—thunk!—a knife embedded in a tree ahead
TAEHYUNG KIM
You’re making me hurt you more than I want to
Taehyung growled, finally dropping the sweet tone.
TAEHYUNG KIM
I said I’d protect you from everyone, Even yourself
Jungkook’s vision blurred. He didn’t know if it was tears or panic. He wasn’t just running from a man. He was running from a cage dressed in love.
But suddenly—silence.
No footsteps. No voice.
That was worse.
TAEHYUNG KIM
Where are you, baby?
A whisper drifted behind him. He turned—too late.
Taehyung emerged from the shadows, eyes gleaming with madness and devotion. He grabbed Jungkook, slammed him into a tree, hand clamped around his throat—not enough to kill, just enough to control.
TAEHYUNG KIM
You’ll learn• he whispered•
TAEHYUNG KIM
No one will ever love you like I do
Jungkook choked, tears streaking his dirt-covered face.
And part of him believed it. That was the scariest part of all.
Part-2
Jungkook’s vision blurred at the edges. Taehyung’s grip tightened just enough to make his body scream for air, but never quite cross the line. He knew exactly how far to go.
JUNGKOOK JEON
You're hurting me
Jungkook rasped, fingers clawing weakly at Taehyung’s wrist.
Taehyung’s face softened in a way that twisted Jungkook’s stomach. He eased his grip, brushing a thumb over Jungkook’s cheek where the bruise from yesterday bloomed like a sick flower.
TAEHYUNG KIM
You always say that like it means I don’t love you
JUNGKOOK JEON
I don’t feel safe
Jungkook said, voice shaking.
JUNGKOOK JEON
That’s not love.
TAEHYUNG KIM
Then let me keep you safe. From everyone else
He dragged Jungkook back through the woods, ignoring his struggles. The cabin’s warm yellow light flickered through the trees like a lighthouse—and a prison.
Inside, Taehyung sat him down gently. Cleaned the blood from his lip with a damp cloth. Kissed his forehead.
Jungkook didn’t cry anymore. He’d learned tears made Taehyung talk longer, softer, sweeter—like an addict feeding on guilt. The calm before the storm.
But tonight, Jungkook had a plan.
He’d found the spare key to the truck days ago, hidden in the lining of Taehyung’s coat. He’d stashed it in the bathroom wall behind the loose tile.
Taehyung cooked—steak, Jungkook’s favorite. Played soft music. Talked about their future. A house near the coast. No phones. No people. Just them.
Jungkook nodded when needed. Smiled once. Taehyung beamed at that.
Later, when Taehyung fell asleep with his arm across Jungkook’s waist like a shackle, Jungkook held his breath. Counted to 300. Carefully slipped out from under the weight.
Every creak in the floor was a gunshot.
In the bathroom, he pried the tile loose—slow, silent. Fingers trembling, he grabbed the key.
This time with a direction, a purpose. He threw open the truck door, jammed the key in, praying it would turn—
The engine roared to life.
And behind him, the cabin door flew open.
Taehyung’s scream wasn’t angry. It was betrayed. Like a lover catching a cheating heart.
The truck tore down the dirt road as Taehyung ran barefoot, screaming his name.
Jungkook didn’t look back
Part-3
It had been three weeks since Jungkook escaped.
He didn’t go home. He didn’t go to friends or family. He knew Taehyung would look there first. Instead, he took the cash hidden under the truck’s seat—Taehyung’s emergency stash—and disappeared to a coastal town where no one knew his name.
He cut his hair. Changed his clothes. Barely slept.
Even with the ocean nearby, even with strangers all around, Jungkook couldn’t shake the feeling that eyes were on him. That Taehyung was still out there.
He got a job bussing tables at a seaside café. Kept his head down. Talked little. But every time the bell above the door rang, he flinched. Every time someone said “Kookie” by accident, his blood ran cold.
Then one night, a letter came.
No address. No name. Just a plain white envelope slipped under his apartment door.
He knew when where it came, so he opened it.
TAEHYUNG KIM
I forgive you.
TAEHYUNG KIM
You were scared. I understand.
TAEHYUNG KIM
You were scared. I understand.
TAEHYUNG KIM
Come home, and I won’t be angry.
TAEHYUNG KIM
I miss your voice. I miss your skin. I miss your eyes when you lie to me.
TAEHYUNG KIM
We’re not finished.
There was a small photo tucked inside.
It was taken through a window.
He dropped the letter and backed away from the door, heart pounding so hard he thought it might shatter his ribs. He scanned the windows. Locked them all. Closed the blinds. Turned off the lights.
The next morning, he asked for time off. Told his boss he needed to disappear for a while. Again.
Taehyung was already here.
That evening, as Jungkook packed a small bag, a knock came at the door.
Just like Taehyung used to do before whispering
TAEHYUNG KIM
It’s me, baby
Jungkook froze. Every muscle screamed to move—but his legs betrayed him.
Taehyung’s voice slid through the door. Calm. Smiling.
TAEHYUNG KIM
You know I’d find you. You’re my heartbeat, And heartbeats don’t hide.
The front door’s lock twisted.
