The Playboy's Favorite Midnight Plaything

Chapter 1

“Last call, miss.”

Oh shit, finally. Luna glanced at the clock—2:46 AM. Just a little more, girl. Go home, sleep, then do it all over again tomorrow. You got this. There were barely any people left in the bar—just a few regulars finishing their last round and one drunk guy snoring in the corner like it was his own bedroom.

She sighed as she wiped the counter. The rag was cold and damp… just like my life right now. No thrill at all.

Then the door opened.

Who the hell is it this time? She didn’t even look. Probably another messed-up guy. I’m done. I’m tired. Please, no more.

But… something in the air shifted. Legit. Like a breeze of expensive perfume mixed with arrogance and sin.

Luna slowly turned to look.

Fuck.

He walked in like a scene straight out of a movie. Tall, confident, wearing a dark shirt that hugged his body. That walk? Casual, but powerful. I want to throw water at him… but I also kinda want to sit on his lap—Luna, girl, behave.

He sat at the end of the bar like it was made for him.

“One whiskey. Neat.”

His voice was deep. Commanding. Not a request—a demand. Luna flinched. Great. Cocky. But why does his voice feel so hot? Just his voice and I’m already melting. Get a grip, Luna.

“We’re not allowed to serve after 2 AM, sir,” she replied, acting chill, raising a brow. Don’t fall, girl.

He smiled. “Then pretend it’s juice.”

Fuck. THIS MAN’S CHARM IS SO RUDE. Luna smiled even though she didn’t mean to. She grabbed the bottle and poured. Here we go. Another problem. But damn, he’s handsome. TOO HANDSOME. Lord, why?

“You’ve got quite the bite, huh?” he said with a squint.

He leaned back, totally relaxed. “And you’re way too pretty for this hour.”

Shit. Is this Wattpad? Is this even real? Luna blushed but played it cool.

“One more line and I’ll charge you,” she said, hands on her hips.

He laughed. Low, tempting. “Name?”

Your name is trouble. Wait. Don’t give it. He might be a stalker. But… if he is, maybe I’m okay with it. Focus, Luna!

“Why should I tell you?”

He stared—intense, like an interrogation. “Because I’ve been trying not to stare at you since I walked in.”

OKAY. Chill. Chill. Don’t let your panties explode.

“I don’t get distracted easily,” Luna said.

He leaned closer. “Then why haven’t you looked away since I walked in?”

OH MY GOD. Luna. Pray. He looks like he wants to devour you—and you’re kinda down for it. Are you okay?

“…Luna,” she finally said. Her voice came out softer than she intended.

He looked pleased. “Luna.” He said it slowly, like chocolate. Expensive chocolate.

Fck, how come my name sounds sexy when he says it?!

He took a sip of his whiskey, eyes still on her. Is this right? Maybe he’s married. Or worse—a playboy. But Luna’s gut? Yup. Exactly that. The kind of guy who ruins you—but you’d still say it was worth it.

“Are you always this flirty with bartenders?” she asked.

“No. Only with the ones I want to take home.”

FUCK. Don’t look at him. Don’t—ugh, you looked even harder. You’re doomed.

Luna turned her back, pretending to clean again. Why am I nervous? I’m supposed to have the power—I’m the one with the bottles.

Then she heard it.

“Luna.”

She froze.

Don’t turn. Don’t. Fuck. GURL. Why did you turn so fast?!

“What now?” she asked, not looking.

“I’m not done yet.”

Her knees buckled. FUCK. Who the hell is this guy?

She slowly turned back around. Their eyes met.

“What’s your deal?” she asked, nervous.

He smiled, relaxed. “Simple—I saw you. And now, I want to know how far you’ll let me go before you say yes.”

Yes?! What kind of yes?! I’m not that easy… but why do I kinda want to?

“I don’t say yes. I don’t give in easily.”

He grinned, hungry. “Then make it hard for me. I like that.”

Shit. I’m the one getting played. I’m the one getting flustered. And I kinda like it?

Luna could feel his gaze—intense, like a spotlight.

She pretended to be busy. Wiping here, glancing there. But honestly, all she could think about was his voice. Like an echo laced with lust. Fuck, how did he get me this turned on in five minutes?

“Don’t worry,” he said while sipping his drink, “I don’t bite… unless you ask nicely.”

HAAA?!

Luna dropped the glass.

“Shit,” she whispered, picking it up.

“You okay?” he asked, smirking.

“I’m fine. Just surprised by the—”

Your voice that sounds like a damn hotline. Who are you?!

He raised a brow. “By?”

Fake smile. “The air. It’s cold.”

He laughed. “You sure it’s the air? Maybe it’s me?”

FUCK. Are you literally temptation?

“Maybe you’re just full of yourself,” Luna said.

“Confident,” he corrected. “Big difference.”

Luna rolled her eyes. Confirmed. Playboy. But why is he so fun to talk to?

“Don’t you have any other bar to bother?” she asked.

“You’re not at any other bar.”

OHMYGOD. Why am I giggling? Why am I smiling? LUNA, GET A GRIP.

He leaned closer. His cologne? Smelled like sinful heaven.

“I’m Adrian, by the way.”

Luna raised an eyebrow. “Adrian, huh? That real?”

He smirked. “Depends. Want my full name, number, and location of my birthmark?”

WHAT THE HELL. I want your birthmark, idiot.

“Hmm. No thanks,” she said, hiding a smile.

“Playing hard to get?”

“Playing smart.”

Their eyes locked again. Like they were the only two people in the world.

Adrian’s eyes dropped to her lips. Just a second—but she caught it.

Shit. He wants to kiss me. Do I want to? Idiot, stop.

“So… you always work this late?”

“Why? You applying?”

He laughed. And damn, even his laugh is sexy.

“I just want to know if I’ll see you here again.”

Why does that feel like a date proposal? I don’t want to fall for a customer… but damn, he’s fine.

Luna turned again, pretending to fix the bottles.

Adrian stood up.

She didn’t notice, but she was already biting her lip. Adrian came closer to the bar.

“Luna,” he said again—smooth, deadly.

She turned around. What now?!

“Are you off tomorrow?”

“Why?”

“Dinner,” he said straight. “With me.”

FUCK. DINNER already? No “maybe”? Just straight up “with me”? LORD?!

“Sorry, I don’t date customers.”

“Then I’ll stop drinking. I’m not a customer anymore.”

SHIT. Stop it. Next thing I know, I’ll serve myself to you.

Luna was about to answer—maybe no, maybe yes—when someone yelled from the other end. “Miss! One more beer!”

She turned. “One sec.”

When she turned back… Adrian was gone.

WTF?! WHERE DID YOU GO?!

She spotted a 500-peso tip… and a small card.

Adrian Reyes

CEO - Reyes International Holdings

Personal: 0917-xxx-xxxx

Back: Text me if you want dessert after your shift.

Luna’s jaw dropped.

FUCK. CEO?! What kind of hentai story is this?!

She tucked the card into her apron, heart pounding like a drumroll.

And as they cleaned up, she remembered the note:

“Text me if you want dessert.”

Girl… I want dessert. But I also want to live. Bahala na si Batman.

Chapter 2

Girl, I want dessert. But I also want to stay alive. Let Batman decide.

Luna stared at the card like it was a grenade.

A hot, expensive grenade with a flirty smile and abs hidden under a custom-tailored polo.

She shoved it deeper into her apron pocket like it might bite her.

“Luna!” Yssa called from the other side of the bar. “I’m done cleaning outside. You’re up here.”

“Yeah, one sec,” she replied, shaking herself.

Focus. Close the bar. Go home. Do not text the sinfully handsome CEO who flirted with you like you were the main course.

But damn it...

“Text me if you want dessert.”

What kind of dessert, huh? Chocolate lava cake? Or you, in my bed?

Luna wiped the counter one last time, her brain louder than the old speakers still playing sad love songs.

She didn’t text him. Of course not. She had standards. Self-respect.

And fear of billionaires who are way too good at flirting.

Right?

---

The next day

She woke up way too late for her 3 PM shift.

Damn, why do I feel hungover when I didn’t even drink?

Apparently, sexual tension has side effects now.

Still lying down, she reached for her apron to get the tip money she forgot to take out last night.

But instead, she pulled out paper.

The card.

She stared at it again.

“Adrian Reyes,” she read out loud.

Fck. He even has a last name. Like her brain needed more fantasy fuel.

She tossed the card onto the bed like it was hot.

Nope. Not today, Satan.

---

At the bar, the day was slow. Tuesdays were always like that.

Luna tried to distract herself by organizing the shelves while secretly searching Adrian Reyes on her phone.

Just for safety, okay? What if he’s a scammer? Cult leader? A kidnapper who’s way too good-looking for anyone’s good?

But nope.

He was everywhere online. Business magazines. Stock market articles. Charity balls. Gala events where he was always next to women who looked like they were rendered in 4K.

And there was one picture—him, in a navy suit, looking straight at the camera with the same smirk.

Luna tossed her phone on the counter.

“What the hell,” she muttered.

She lasted three hours pretending nothing was happening.

Until 7:48 PM, when there were no customers and she was chilling with instant coffee in hand...

She texted him.

> Luna: Dessert, huh? What if I want something salty?

Three seconds later—

> Adrian: Then I guess I’ll bring fries. And a towel.

LUNA SCREAMED IN HER HEAD.

She almost dropped her coffee.

> Luna: Bold of you to assume I’m free.

Adrian: Bold of you to text me if you weren’t.

Adrian: You free after your shift?

Luna: Maybe.

Adrian: Then I’ll wait.

Luna: What do you mean you’ll wait?

No reply.

She got nervous and glanced at the door.

Please. Please not now. Don’t show up now.

The door opened.

And there he was.

Wearing a dark blazer. Hair still perfect. That killer smile.

“Miss, one glass of water,” he said with a devilish grin. “Technically not a customer, remember?”

Luna blinked.

Twice.

“F*ck,” she whispered. “He’s not kidding.”

Adrian stood at the bar like he owned the place—like the dark, tiny bar was a five-star hotel lounge, and Luna was the main event.

“I said water,” he repeated, with a wicked smile.

“Unless, of course, you’re offering something stronger.”

Luna crossed her arms.

“You waited three hours… for water?”

“No,” he said, eyes still locked on her. “I waited for you.”

FCKING HELL.

Luna shut her eyes and forced an eye roll.

“Cringe.”

Adrian chuckled quietly.

“And yet, here you are. Texting me. Serving me water. Making me feel like I’ve already won.”

Luna set the glass on the counter—louder than necessary.

“You didn’t win anything.”

His eyes dropped to her lips.

“Not yet.”

She quickly turned her back. If it weren’t embarrassing, she’d be cooling her neck with a bar towel by now.

Why does the back of my neck feel hot when he stares at me?

Adrian said nothing. Just watched.

Which somehow made it worse.

“So what now?” she asked, still facing away. “You gonna sit there and flirt until closing?”

“Would that be a problem?”

She rolled her eyes again.

“Only if you expect a happy ending.”

“I’d settle for a kiss goodnight.”

Luna spun around, fast.

“Wow. Fast progress. One card, one text, one glass of water… and now a kiss?”

He smiled—slowly, with a filthy kind of charm.

“I work efficiently.”

Damn it. Red flag, but it still sounds so good.

Luna smiled—forced, annoyed with herself, but it was already happening.

“You know,” she said, leaning on the bar, “this CEO smooth-talk style of yours? Cute. But I’m not that kind of girl.”

“What kind of girl?”

“The kind who falls for smirks and pick-up lines.”

Adrian leaned in slightly.

“Good. I like a challenge.”

WHY IS HE SO FUN TO RESIST?!

Luna took a deep breath and looked at the clock. Two hours until closing.

Two hours of this man watching her like temptation in designer shoes.

“You gonna behave if I let you stay?”

“Absolutely not.”

She bit her lip, holding back a laugh.

“Then stay. But don’t distract me.”

“Too late.”

Damn him. Damn his face. Damn her heart that wouldn’t stay still.

---

2:03 AM

Almost everyone had gone home. Yssa had left.

And Adrian?

Still there.

Still sipping that same glass of water.

Still staring at her like she was the plot twist he’d been waiting for his whole life.

As she passed by to wipe a table, Adrian spoke—quiet but clear.

“Come with me.”

She stopped.

“Excuse me?”

“After your shift. Come with me. Just a drive.”

Luna’s mouth went dry.

“Why?”

“No pressure. No expectations. I’m just curious how you look outside this place.”

She turned to face him.

“And if I say no?”

“Then I’ll keep coming back. Every night. Until you say yes.”

Damn. This guy’s dangerous. And persistent.

Luna stared at him.

Looked at the clock.

Then looked back.

And softly said:

“One hour. No funny business.”

Adrian smiled—quiet and victorious.

“I’ll wait outside.”

She watched him walk out.

And the moment the door closed—

“What did I just get myself into?” she whispered, her chest pounding.

“Lord, if this is a mistake... give me a heads up now.”
