Rewrite My Stars
Opposites in the same world
Jeon Jungkook
S-Sorry, sir. It won’t happen again
Kim Taehyung 35, CEO of Kimtopia, South Korea’s biggest media empire. Striking looks, unreadable eyes, and a schedule as precise as a ticking clock. To the world, he’s perfection personified. No scandals. No distractions. No emotions.
They call him the most eligible bachelor, but Taehyung doesn't care. Love? A luxury he never needed. Until something or someone shakes his meticulously controlled world.
If Taehyung was a storm, Jungkook was a breeze quiet, gentle, and easily overlooked. At 33, he was Taehyung’s secretary and polar opposite: shy eyes behind round glasses, soft smiles, and a nervous energy that made him shrink into the background.
For three years, Jungkook had tiptoed around the CEO’s sharp edges, clutching files with trembling hands never once imagining he’d matter in Taehyung’s perfectly controlled world.
Jungkook wasn’t incompetent far from it. He managed Taehyung’s demanding schedule with quiet precision, yet his deep-rooted self-doubt often clouded his confidence.
Orphaned young and raised without reassurance, Jungkook learned to put others first, a habit that worsened during his loveless marriage to Park Sungchul, where he was treated more like a provider than a partner. Even at work, overshadowed by Taehyung’s imposing presence, Jungkook never voiced his pain, quietly accepting a life he believed was all he deserved.
The Illusion of Love
Park Sungchul wore charm like a tailored suit always fitting, always polished. On the outside, he was the perfect husband: kind, generous, and devoted. But beneath that flawless surface? He was a master manipulator.
He smiled sweetly, spoke softly, and made people feel seen. But every gesture was calculated, every word measured for effect.
At thirty-three, Sungchul was the same age as Jungkook. But while Jungkook had clawed his way up as Taehyung’s reliable secretary, Sungchul had glided through Kimtopia’s ruthless halls on charisma and family connections.
The Park family was powerful old money, deep roots. They wanted someone compliant for their son, someone who could be molded.
Fresh out of university. Innocent. Hopeful. Hungry for love and purpose. Sungchul swooped in like a dream come true.
Jeon Jungkook
“He’s so kind… so supportive. He believes in me.”
In the beginning, it was a fairytale.
Sungchul showered him with attention, whispered praises, and filled his days with affection.
But once the ring was on his finger, things began to shift.
Like a tide pulling back.
It started small.
Park Sungchul
“Jagiya, can I borrow some money? My wallet broke… again.”
Jeon Jungkook
Smiling, nodding
Jeon Jungkook
“Of course. I’ll transfer it now.”
Then came more “small things.” A new phone. “Urgent” repairs. Endless excuses.
And Jungkook, eager to please, always gave. After all, love was about sacrifice… right?
Soon, his bank account wasn’t the only thing drained.
At home, he became the help. Cooking, cleaning, errands all while Sungchul and his parents relaxed.
The Betrayal in Shadows
There are people you meet who look like angels, speak like saints, and act like they care.
And then… there's Min Hera.
Beautiful? Yes.
Graceful? Of course.
Deadly? Like a venom-laced smile.
To most people, she was elegance personified.
But to Park Jungkook… she was a friend. A friend he never realized was sharpening a knife behind her backhanded compliments.
Min Hera
“Jungkookie, you look so tired again. You’re working too hard! Sungchul is lucky to have someone like you.”
She said things like that. Warm words. Sweet voice.
But her eyes always flickered like she knew exactly what she was doing.
And Jungkook? Poor, soft-hearted Jungkook…
He believed every single word.
Park Sungchul
(Chuckling) “Hera was just saying how we should plan a little trip, maybe for some bonding time. You, me, her. Like a family getaway.”
Jeon Jungkook
(Smiling faintly) “That sounds… nice. I’d love that.”
Of course he would. He didn’t know he was the one footing the bill while they toasted champagne behind his back.
He just wanted to be loved. Seen.
And Sungchul? He played the part perfectly.
Min Hera
(Leaning in, fake concern) “You know, Jungkook… a good husband is always attentive. Sungchul deserves someone who supports him emotionally. Do you… think you’re doing enough?”
And with that tiny seed of doubt, she watched it grow watering it with whispers, fertilizing it with flattery, until Jungkook was drowning in guilt for sins he never committed.
They had a system. Hera whispered. Sungchul acted. Jungkook obeyed.
Jeon Jungkook
(Quietly, unsure) “I just… want to make him happy. Am I not enough?”
Park Sungchul
(Shrugging, barely hiding the smirk) “You try, baby. That’s what matters.”
It would’ve gone on forever… if Jungkook hadn’t walked in early that one evening.
(Sound: Door creaks open)
Jeon Jungkook
(Cheerful) “Surprise! I brought dinner—”
Jeon Jungkook
(Stops, silence)
“…Hera?”
There they were. On his couch. Laughing like teenagers. Sitting too close. Eyes too familiar.
Park Sungchul
(Scrambling) “Jungkook! You’re home early. We were just… talking.”
Min Hera
(Sweetly) “Reminiscing. You remember college days, right?”
Jeon Jungkook
(Stiff, confused) “…I don’t believe you.”
The moment the veil dropped.
The moment his fairy tale finally shattered.
Min Hera
(Smirking) “You were easy, Jungkook. Too easy. Always so eager to please, to believe in love. You were the wallet. That’s all.”
Park Sungchul
(Sighing) “I never really loved you. I married you because… you were convenient.”
There are heartbreaks. And then there’s betrayal like this.
Not just being left behind but being played, over and over again.
And Jungkook? He just stood there, shattered in his own home, in his own skin, wondering how love turned into a scam.
Jeon Jungkook
(Whispers) “Why would you do this to me…?”
Because some people don’t love you.
They love what you give.
And when you stop giving… they stop pretending.
