Some moments feel fake.
Even if you were alive in them once, they feel like a faint memory now.
For Ella, this was the description of her life.
She was a princess living a life of pride. She was ruling the world on her tips. She could have anything just by a mere gesture of hand.
She had servants that were there every moment to serve her. She had a bodyguard who would protect her with their life.
She had everything a mind could think of but now that life was nothing more than an illusion.
She wondered if she was one living that living that life. Sometimes it all feels like she is hallucinating those moments.
Maybe she was living in a dream. Maybe she crossed a parallel universe she had fallen into after some accident or maybe that life never existed at all.
Something had to be there. Some explanation that could convince her that it was real.
Even after months of living this life. The life where she always had a painless purse and an empty stomach, she was unable to believe that it had happened.
Ella was standing at a corner of the school grounds. The winter was taking the initial breaths. The weather was calm, unlike the thunder in her brain. Standing there, in a state that made her disgusted enough to kill herself, it wasn't hard to believe that she had crashed to the ground. She has hit the rock bottom
Things have become different now. The things that required her interest weren't the exclusive bag she had to buy before it was gone or the limited edition shoe she knew was about to launch. It was whether she would be able to eat with her stomach full or not.
The life of a princess has fallen into a life of poverty
A few months ago Ella was the spoiled daughter of the most famous lawyer of the states. David Harrison.
Ella had so many friends, almost too many. Her finger digits couldn't hold the count. She was the most popular girl in the law school. She was cherished by every single person, if not due to her character then by money. Everyone used to treat her as a Princess but that love took its last breaths with the death of her father. They were killed to be exact, both, her father and the love. With her father the money that made her famous was gone too, taking her friends or fake friends to the dump.
For Ella, her father, he was her everything. She had never seen her mother. She died long ago and she has no memories of her. Despite not having a mother she never felt her absence much because her father was both a mother and a father to her. He had been taking care of her like she was the most precious gem to him.
Her father was a man everyone fears. He hadn’t touched a gun to hurt anyone because the law was enough to make people pee in their pants. He was a terrifyingly successful lawyer. No lawyer had been born till this day that could beat him.
David Harrison has never lost a case in his life and this success was the reason why he is dead.
Ella has her theories and she is almost sure who killed her father three months ago. She has always been remarkable in her studies but now she didn't need the law degree only to become a lawyer, she needed it to finish her father's work and hang his murderers to death.
She had a burning passion. A desire that could burn them all alive.
The last year of the law school was closing its edges. The nights were becoming restless as her sleeping hours were dropped on the cascade. Only a few months were left. Just some mere weeks and after it, she would have the power and a position to begin the planning on her revenge.
Ella was staring at the students, having fun with their friends. She remembers these faces. They used to beg her to hang up with her but now she knows, it was the money that they liked because as a person, there weren't many people who would like her.
She had a sick attitude.
She has been trying her very best to control it but she was helpless. This attitude has made her lose many jobs and left her with a box-size convenience store. She was poor and broke, and all the words that were once cringed at her could be used to describe her to illustrate her state. The store was paying the bare minimum and since the finals were coming, she couldn't have a second job. So, she was stuck.
Ella didn't have money to buy food from the cafeteria and that was why she decided to let herself breathe for some moments when her tummy was only filled with air. She had cup noodles in the morning and begged her belly to stop asking for more. She couldn't sit in class when her stomach was growling from hunger.
There were still five minutes till the next lecture. There was no way she could just go into the class and hear people spitting nonsense about her. So, she had no choice but to stand there and look at those happy faces while she was dying from those smiles.
“Hey” Someone called. The voice melted her with it. It was warm and rich, sending delightful shivers down her body. She turned around to look and then she froze for a moment. “Do you know where Mr. Witacker’s class is?” She didn't hear what he was saying because she was only looking at him. This guy, he was dangerously handsome. His face was carved like perfection. His hair was black, eyes the color of ash, encircled by an intense black ring. His stare was so sharp and so terrifying. There was a mark on his left eye, tearing his brow. He was impossibly handsome. His look was similar to a gangster and just then she realized whom she was staring at.
It was indeed a gangster.
She has seen this face. The confirmation left her in shock and unknowingly she fell a step back. Ella swallowed the air hard because she was standing in front of Alex Willard, also known as Hawk. He was a member of the club. Eclipse.
Ella didn't know it because his identity was something they showed on the Internet but it was because she had seen his face in her house so many times. Her father was a public lawyer against Eclipse. And his father's involvement with this club was the exact reason why he was dead.
Ella became unable to move, frozen on the spot because one of the murderers of her father was standing in front of her
“Hey, where have you gone?” That voice came to her again and she jerked her head. She didn't know what to do. She started to panic, thinking of an escape but she was incapacitated to locate one. Maybe she should call the police but a good reason for not doing it was that she had no evidence.
She knew his identity but she could not prove it. After all, all the data her father and Daniel had collected was stolen.
“Hey, Blue head, I am asking you something” Her brain stopped thinking about everything all at once. A wave of anger ignited in her body out of nowhere. She was not a bluehead. Her hair was the deepest and most beautiful shade of blue just like her eyes. The color that reminiscent of the ocean under the night sky. Something so captivating that required a sense of awe to see its beauty and not many people could see how perfect it was on her. After a while of trying not to take offense, she realized that her hair was exposed and the black hood was gone “Oh, yeah. I- I know” She said, adjusting the hood back and covering her hair. Only if she had money, she would have changed her hair to black or brown or something that does not make her the center of attention everywhere she goes.
“Can you tell me where it is?” his voice sounded commanding and she wasn't sure of the outcome of her silence.
“Yeah” She nodded her head fast and by some funny miracle it was the same class that Ella had just now “You can follow me,” Alex nodded his head, adjusted the bag over his shoulder and started to walk behind her and she moved straight without looking back. He was silent, following her and his deep breaths reached her ears, and just then she realized that there were a hell a lot of other things she should be thinking about.
She should do something. If not the police she should at least call Danial and tell him about seeing Hawk. He was the only person whom she could trust.
Danial was someone special to her. He was the only one in this world that was left for her but he had gone to another state and she had failed to contact him for a months now.
She had a lot of things to talk about but the class was already here and Alex was still behind her.
Ella stopped her brain from thinking and walked in. She nodded her head so that he could know they were in the right room. She felt his gaze at her, he was already looking at her
“Thank you, Princess” Alex said, she spun around and looked at him with wide eyes. Everyone used to call her by this name but it was rare. The chance of it was zero and a new student from a different school was calling her that was impossible.
Alex could not know this name because he had never met Ella. She stood still, staring at him and he gave her a half-lip smile. It was a wrecked smirk that made her fall a step back.
Alex walked away to take an empty seat and by the same funny miracle, there was just one free place in the class and it was; behind Alex
“What the hell is happening?” She muttered under her breath, got no answer, stood there for a moment and students were staring at her. Ella got her steps straight and just walked to that place.
Alex wasn't looking at her now. Even though she couldn't stop staring at him for a second, he was never staring back. Probably because of the Twins. They were sitting on his sides and talking with him “So, you have finally given Veritas Law School a thought huh?” It was Jake, the one with light brown hair, green eyes, and a small face. Alex didn't say anything “Are you here on a mission or something?” the other twin said. It was an extremely rare mutation, the twins had different eyes. Joe had silver hair and black eyes.
Jake looked at him with a burning gaze “Stop with that, Bro. I am just kidding” Joe has already been a little sarcastic and probably that was what he was doing there.
Ella was not interested in their talk but there were thoughts knocking her mind.
By the look, Alex doesn't seem like a person who likes to be social or have many friends and only one explanation was left.
Alex knows the Twins.
And by that little conversation, she believed that this was related to Eclipse, and other than that the twins have always been mysterious to her.
They never tried to engage with Ella. Not even in her ruling era when everyone bowed to her, they stayed feet apart.
The questions were storming her head. Do the twins have some sort of connection with The Eclipse?
Have they always known Ella was David's daughter and that's why they never came near her? If that's true then she was in the worst scenario possible.
Three murderers from the club that killed her father and she was sitting behind them all.
One thing Ella absolutely hates about Mr. Whitaker is that he casually extends the time of his lecture for ten to twenty minutes on a regular basis. She could have no problem studying even for an extra hour if it wasn't for her part-time job.
She was late today for her job again.
She can't lose this job. But that would be a little hard for sure as Ella was late for the second time in the same week. And a throne on top is her boss. A giant and utterly terrible man who would have no problem smashing her into tiny pieces.
She would have to swallow her ego and beg for forgiveness because there was no chance she could make it alive out of there, normally.
Ella was running, crushing her feet to the hard concrete road.
There were many things occupying her brain. But as she reached the door of the store, all of the thinking took a pause.
She saw her boss, that dreadful person, himself standing on the counter. His complexion was monstrous, leaving her heart beating in the throat.
Ella engulfed the air hard. She tightened the grip on her bag and stepped into the store
The moment she entered, a blasting shout welcomed her from the counter
“WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?” She knew she was in a bad situation. A really bad one and this shouting makes it worse.
Ella hasn’t allowed the word sorry to touch her lips. It was too much. In the original plan, she was supposed to say sorry as soon as her eyes caughts a glimpse of it but now, she was respectfully dogging it. She was just keeping her mouth shut and letting Hunk say whatever he wanted to. But when Ella saw him taking giant steps in her direction, her mouth threw the seal away “I- I a sorry, Boss. I- it won't happen again” It itched her pride to say it. But it didn't do any good to the mood of this creature in front.
When she lifted her face, he was still some steps away. The worst thing about the moment was that there was no customer in the shop and now Hunk can kill her in peace. “A freaking sorry would fix nothing” he was walking towards her and she was terrified for herself. Her fingers were crossed at the back and her eyes were on the floor when she felt a sharp sting on her cheeks. She felt the sensation of being burnt all over her face. Hunk slapped her. He was a big man, his hand was equivalent to her total face and that one slap made her lose balance. She barely held herself from meeting the ground
“This was your last chance. If it happens again you would be fired” Ella nodded. Even though she was still feeling a little dizzy from that hit, she nodded because if she lost this job, she would be on the road. “Now, go to the counter and start the freaking word” her head was still moving up and down. She moved to the counter with tiny steps. She knew she would fall to the floor if she walk faster.
Ella had a frantic thought at that moment. She could have just called a bodyguard to beat the living hell out of Hunk, she was imagining things and there was literally nothing she could do other than rubbing her cheek that would surely not take the pain away.
When Ella went to her place at the counter, her eyes saw something terrible. More terrible than Hunk and the slap. She saw someone through the window. She rubbed her eyes. Maybe she was still dizzy from the hit because she was looking at Alex.
He was standing outside the door and he was smirking. The same smirk that leaves her immovable for some seconds. She followed his face.
Alex wasn't looking at Ella but Hunk. She did not know what was happening nor did she want to know.
She doesn't care if Alex has seen her getting slapped. She shrugged the embarrassment by rolling her eyes at him because the only thing mattered was that she didn't lose the job. Hunk was kind to a percent equivalent to zero. The only reason she could think why he let her stay was, no one would work for him at this low salary.
“Why the hell are you not moving?” It was that son of— it was Hank again. “I will start now” she said, trying to get a hold on her attitude that she obviously failed. Hunk gave her a stare, she didn't help herself to care.
Ella jerked her mind to the counter. Pretending to go through some papers, she spared a glance to the window, no one was there. She was unable to spot him. She could swear that he was just standing outside the window but now there was nothing.
She looked at the papers and then again at the window and he was really not there.
Driving her attention from driving towards anything, she shifted the entire focus to the work and Hunk walked out of the door.
She breathed for the first time since she entered the store.
“Fat, freaking hunk” She said the second he was gone. Ella saw her reflection in the table mirror and she saw blood on her cheek. “That fat ass ruined my face” her teeth knocked into each other out of anger.
This scratch must be from his ring, she thought to herself. That ring that he won in gambling. Ella hated it so much because this wasn't the first time it had given her a bruise.
She quickly took a tissue paper out and wiped the blood off, there was no time to take care of herself.
She sat on the chair and fingers moved into rhythms on the keyboard.
She managed all the documents. Double checked the stock. Dealt with some customers but no matter how busy she tried to make herself, she was unable to keep her mind straight. There was too much to think about.
She should reach Danial by any possible source. Maybe if they work together, they will be able to find something against the club, after all she could not let her father's work go to waste. He has spent years collecting information about Eclipse. Countless stressful nights and days full of hard work. The amount of patience and effort it took. She knew it all and she would never let it go to vain.
She has to do it. She had to do it for her father. Doesn't matter if she had the courage or not.
She has to end it all at once.
For now, Danial was her only chance. He was, too, an amazing lawyer and Ella would complete her degree very soon. She could assist Danial and they could bring Eclipse down with the help of her father's research, if they could recur it by any chance.
•••
Walking to her house, the memories flooded in her head. Ella remembers how the days used to be. Whenever she returned home, her father would pause whatever he was doing, no matter how important it was. He would stand up with his face, lighting up and welcome her with a warm, heartfelt hug. The bond was so strong and so beautiful. Maybe this was the reason why she still feels like her father was near. Even though this house wasn't the castle she raised into. It was nothing like her old home but she could feel his presence there.
Ella took a deep sigh and entered the residential building. She was grateful to Danial for sending her some money. They were enough to cover the bills for that one month and for the next. She worked really hard, earned the rent and sent his money back. Because anything that turns her ego down is over the limit of her patience.
This house was a small apartment but at least it belonged to her. It was okay to live in but not enough to give her a peace of mind. It was old and a little frightening at times. The residents were fine but she wasn't the type of person to socialize that easily. So, in a building full of people, she was all alone.
This loneliness gets depressing from time to time but she could not help herself with it.
And then the feeling.
The feeling she tries to ignore at her very best.
The feeling of fear that envelopes her wherever she goes.
The feeling of being watched at her every move. The eyes, those dreadful eyes, following her wherever she goes.
At first, she thought she was hallucinating. The sounds of steps that follow her to the doorstep, those stares from the window, the shadow that never leaves her surroundings, no matter where she is. It doesn't feel like an illusion anymore. She has seen him a couple of times. He always covers his face with a hood. His eyes are always at her and he always hides when she sees her. Almost like he knows that she is watching. It doesn't matter if it's through her window or by hiding behind a wall. He always knows.
Ella is unaware of who it is. She has no idea about him or his motive behind the stalking but the idea of this really being real freaks the living help out if her.
As Ella walked to the door of her apartment, something was waiting for her. A note on the handle of her door. She looked around, trying to find the person to whom it belongs, but there was no one. The hallway was empty.
Confused and somehow afraid, she lifted her hand and picked it out of the handle. With a wave of shiver in her hands, she unfolded it.
Ella found a bandage in it.
Her eyes widened and hand abruptly flew to the bruise on her cheek. She scanned the place for another time but she found no human
It has to be a coincidence, she thought to herself but when she turned the note around, she found some words. Some words that gave her a sense of familiarity “See you soon, Princess” The memory flinched into her mind. A memory she fears. “See you…” She is always unable to complete the words. She tries her very best but she always fails.
Ella has a repeated nightmare, the one she doesn't even want to think about. She always retains her mind to think about it but these words give her a memory of that dream—
She yanked her brain hard. This wasn't the time to think about it.
With a sense of urgency, she unlocked the door and then ran to her room. She had seen him through the window once and if it was really the stalker, she might see him again.
Ella threw her bag on the bed, took some scared but fast steps towards her window and flew it open.
And then, she found nothing. There was no one. Behind the trees, the cars or the walls, she checked every corner of the road with keen eyes but she couldn't find anything. The road was as silent as dead.
Ella took a step back and then in fear, she fell to her bed.
“Maybe it's a coincidence” she tried to convince herself but she was too clever to trick herself like this.
And then, all of the sudden, she was thinking about those dreams. Ella has a strong feeling of them not being the dreams but reality. And a piece of good evidence to support this statement was that she was drunk in all of those moments. She doesn't remember anything when she is drunk.
Maybe months ago, those moments had taken place. Maybe that person was real.
His face, it wasn't clear. She doesn't remember who he was but that guy was a person who had been there for her when no one was.
He would make his presence feel so obvious yet not show himself.
She has been having these dreams for about six months.
And now, sometimes she needs them to really be a reality. She needs someone because no matter how stubborn she makes herself look, she yearns for someone like him.
Someone who cares about her even when she doesn't.
He was standing in the dark alley at the back of the convenience store.
The surroundings were becoming black. Shadow has begun to creep in the night, leaving it all silent. The moon was thin and on the verge of becoming invisible.
Alex could have stayed in front of that building for as long as his heart pleaded. He could have made himself full of her presence if he didn't have a crucial matter to be taken care of.
Alex had thought of a hundred ways to kill this man and he was determined to apply any of them with pleasure.
If by not murdering then by a fair threat. He had to warn Hunk because today, he has crossed the limit of his patience.
He hurt her.
Alex has to give Hunk a brief description of what he is capable of before he goes too far
Alex stayed at the wall. His face was covered by only his hood. His arms were crossed at his chest and legs at an ankle, standing peacefully waiting for his prey.
The slight glow from the flickering street lamps was casting a shadow on the edges of the roads.
Hunk locked the back door of the store. The metallic click echoed in the silent alley. The store owner was humming something. His voice felt as disgusting as his being to Alex.
Hunk’s fingers moved in a rhythm as he turned around. At first he didn’t seem to notice Alex but when he did, his voice ceased at the throat. There was a look of fear on his face. He was not acting tough like he was doing in the afternoon.
Alex stayed unmoving. His stare was sharp as he kept it at him. With a trembling hand and disturbed sight, Hunk put the keys in his pocket and started to walk. His eyes were only at the road in front.
Alex pushed off the wall, his boots crushed on the gravel-strewn ground as he started to walk after him. He was calm, just as calm as he stays on a mission when he needs to focus.
The moment Hunk realized that he was being chased, he started to panic.
The rhythm in their steps lost when Hunk started walking faster. Alex could have freaked him out a little more but he didn't have time to waste. He advanced close to him. His long, deliberate steps were predatory.
Before Hunk could break into a full sprint to get away from him, Alex cut him off, stepping directly into his path.
Hunk got momentarily frozen as Alex stopped in front of him. “What- what do you want from me?” And Alex smirked. He has been amazing in fighting with guns and his hands but he uses his smirk to scare the hell out of his prey.
Hunk took a stumbling stand back as he saw him sneering. “There is nothing you can give me,” Alex said with the same smirk. Hunk looked back into the empty alley, trying to find a route to escape, but Alex never leaves one for his victims.
Hunk was now panting out of fear. The sweat was visible on his forehead. He was a bulky man. Alex has seen him, many times, shouting at her. His shouts could shatter that glass but right at the moment, his voice was barely coming out.
Likely, because of the knife Alex was holding “I- I have money. I can give it to you- as much as you weren't, but don't- please don't kill me,” Hunk begged, holding a shivering hand in the air as he tried to get further away. Alex twisted the knife open, the crisp sound was relaxing “Too bad. I don't need money” nor can he kill him.
But Alex can hurt him. He can hurt in an awful way.
He took a step forward, and Hunk was touching the wall. “Then what- what do you need from me?” Alex was not in the mood to reply. What would he even make out of this conversation?
He grabbed Hunk by the collar and with a foreful throw he slammed him into the wall. Hunk’s eyes stretched wide. There was a look of confusion in his eyes because he had no clue what was happening and Alex wasn't going to give him an explanation yet.
Before Hunk could recover from the previous hit, Alex smashed a punch into his abdomen. His hand hurt, he felt peaceful by how much it hurt. Hunk shouted out of pain. His growls started to roam in the air making it all sonorous. “Fuck” Hunk cursed in pain. He bent to his knees, hands holding his crumbling belly and that was when Alex snatched his hand. “You live to hurt her with it, don't you?” Alex asked in a calm voice, betraying his burning gaze “What do you mean?” He asked, his voice was filled with terror.
The dagger was positioned behind the ring now. He has seen this ring; it has left several scratches on her cheeks and today, it left her face bleeding.
Alex barely held the urge to shove the knife in his throat.
He couldn't bear another sight of this ring. So, he tightened the hold on his knife and ripped his finger off.
Roars of pain filled the silent street. His screams were terrible. They were soul-wrecking but only healing for Alex. Hunk was staring at his hand in disbelief. His eyes were stretched open, entire body shaking with pain. He was shouting uncontrollably and when Alex pressed his wound, his screams turned into howls. The pain in his voice was unexplainable. Alex was falling in love with this sound; it was melodious. “If I see you shouting a word at her again, I would slit your throat open” Alex warned with an intense glare. Hunk appeared puzzled. He was unable to say anything “Do you understand?” Alex asked in a louder voice.
Hunk nodded his big head “I- I do. I understand” he replied in a shivering voice. Alex yanked his collar free. Hunk trembled to the other side and soon he met the floor while his eyes stayed at the lost finger.
Alex turned around. The shouts followed him till a distance. They were soothing, relaxed and comfortable.
He tossed the finger in a trash bin and cleaned the blood with tissue paper.
It felt disgusting, Hunk's blood on his hands.
•••
Eclipse wasn't an ordinary club nor was it a place hidden from the world. People know Eclipse as a luxurious club that is untouchable. It was filled with Enigma and something a person could only dream of being in. The organization itself wasn't a secret, it was their identities that cost them the death.
Eclipse has one simple rule. If you sold them off, they would cut your limbs and let you watch when dogs eat them.
Alex doesn't fear it. Eclipse is a home to him. He has spent his entire life there. It wasn't the club he hates but the owner of it. The man who they owe their lives to.
Over the years, Eclipse has changed but that person stayed the same. The person who scares him. The leader of Eclipse. The Prime. He was a man to be feared. The danger stays with him like a shadow. The peace persists in distance from him
Alex loathed him with an intensity that could turn his being into flames. There is no person in this world he hates more than Prime. It was a relief that Alex wouldn't be seeing him for two weeks because Prime was out of the country.
Alex entered the building of Eclipse. It was an old, astonishingly amazing building exuding a dark aura, that resembles a castle from another time. Its towering structure stood strong, giving the sense of being majestic as well as haunted.
As Alex walked through the door, everyone straightened their backs at a sight if him. All of the guards hit their fingers to their forehead in a salute.
In Eclipse, he was an owner of one of the highest ranks.
Alex was the leader of their security force called Wolves. This was th reason why everyone fears his very being. For Alex, his Wolves were of the most importance. He has trained almost all of them himself. Six months ago when Alex took charge of Wolves as their new leader, they were like shattered remains of power. Something that was once strong and then lost.
But now they have become unrecognizable. United. They we're ready to kill or be killed at his one voice. Alex has put much effort into making them like this and other than that, his performance as the leader of Wolves was one of the few things that has made Prime praise him.
“Where are you coming from, Hawk?” It was Mark to ask. Their are people who are called being pain in the ass. Mark was one of them. He was blond. His eyes were black, and his face was small. Mark was a member of Wolves. One of the two members who didn't like him so much and vice versa but it was a comical how they can not say a word against Alex in the Area One.
Alex paid no attention to him and walked past him “Where are you coming from?” Joe was the one to ask. He was one of the twins and the second person who hates him while being a dog to him.
Alex doesn't like them either but right now he wasn't in a position to show the two of them their place. He had always tried to act calm to this haterd but both of them has become more annoying since he had recovered.
Alex gives people many reasons to hate him. Most of them are because these people could never keep up with his brain. He is sometimes careless with the strategies when they are in a fight. Sometimes he leave his original plan because the situation needs it. This makes people irritate but Alex couldn't care as the results are always on his side.
Other then those situation, Mark and Joe has a different reason to hate him. Three months ago, he was injured badly as a result of an incident. He stayed in a coma for the entire two months. Joe and Mark thought Alex would never wake up and they would get a chance to become the leader of the Wolves. But too bad for them that he woke up and has completely recovered.
“Eagle is waiting for you, Brother” Jake was smiling as he looked at him. Alex let an irritated breath out “You do know how much I hate to see him then why are you announcing it to me?” Jake is Alex's only friend and the only person he could trust. He has known him for five years. It was the time when Jake and his brother Joe were taken in to train as Wolves “No luck for you. Go before he comes out shouting.” Alex stretched his lips in annoyance and have him an eye “Yeah, I will have to go,” he said and then turned to the chess room with the same face.
Alex had a game of chess and a meeting with Eagle today, the one he can't miss
“I have been waiting for quite a while, Hawk,” he said in his husky voice. “You should have started the timer” Alex replied, taking his position against the table. “Too clever for the mind games” Alex smirked with a click of his tongue and adjusted his pieces to perfection. No matter how much Alex dislikes him, Eagle is the only one he gets excited playing when it comes to chess
“Classic opening, huh?” It sounded like a compliment but Alex didn't pay attention. He must be up to driving his attention to something else. For a moment they played in silence but minding your own bussiness and Eagle doesn't go well with each other “How is the mission of Phineas going?” Asked Eagle. Alex took waited for moment, anticipating his next moves “it's going well,” he replied, concentrating only on the game. “Oh, well then tell me where he is right now?” Eagle asked. He was doubting his skills as always. Alex didn't care much. He checked his phone for a brief moment and answered “Near that convenience store” Alex tried to conceal the halt in his voice as he said, that convenience store
“Then why haven't you caught him yet?”
“I know his location but not the exact spot. There are fifty shops on that street and you know what Eagle, you don't have to be worried. I know how to handle my tasks”
“I wonder if you do,” He laughed in a wretched laughter. He was mocking him as always.
Other than not liking him much, Alex has always been suspicious of him.
Maybe because he was too trustworthy. He has proved his loyalty to the club many times but Alex could not trust him. Eagle has helped the club and given important information way too many times and Alex believes that it's not by his skills
“How long will it take you to get the deal done with Won Clarkson?” he asked about the other mission. Alex has to reply to every question. It was Prime’s order. He has left Eagle to keep everything in order.
“Maybe two weeks or three.” Knights are Alex's power, and that's how he took a rook and a Bishop with his single knight. It might have hurt Eagle, but he didn't express, “It's been more than a month, Hawk. Are you simply dumb or your love spell isn't working?” Eagle expressed the pain from the game in a taunt “I got transferred to her law school and in a month, Julia Clarkson would go begging his father to take the deal.” The words were dominating to say, but the move that Eagle just made was pure pain “Let's wait for the time then. By the way, sorry for taking the knight.” Alex took a sigh. It hurt him to lose the Knight killed but it was just a sacrifice.
Alex gave him a smirk
“Feel sorry for your own damn self” and he took his queen and did the checkmate with one move.
