In the bustling, lively and enchanting country of New York city was the restaurant where i, Lily worked tirelessly for my miserable boss who runs a Mexican restaurant popularly known as GUISADOS. I am pretty sure I had wronged him in my past life because he hates my guts and i hate his too, but unfortunately I can't afford to lose my one and only livelihood for me and my family.

 I work as a chef In the restaurant thanks to my partial Mexican background.

 The bell rang as a voice from behind spoke, one Chiles rellenos and very spicy tamales.

 I checked the time and it was already past the time i was supposed to get my pay for the day.

I went straight to my boss Mr Leonardo Sanchez to ask for his permission to leave work for today.

Sir, um sir it's time for me to leave sir and i also need to get my pay for today. oh I see, are you sure you have finished for today. yes sir I replied him, well you'll need to stay back for a while, my friends are coming this night and I need you to cook a special dish for them understood.

 But sir, I need to branch somewhere else before i head home so sir I really have to go now.

 You can go if you want to but, don't bother coming back here anymore and forget about today's pay

 I had to budge into his talk, I didn't want to lose my job, I headed back to the kitchen and started preparing our special dish which is enchiladas and smoked tuna.

 In half an hour I prepared a sumptuous smoking tuna and enchiladas, everyone in the kitchen praised my cooking except from the devil himself Mr Leonardo as expected, and not quite long the guest we had been patiently waiting for arrived.

 Mr Leonardo and his friends sat down as me me and some of my team served their meals.

 Holla amigos, cómos estás Mr Leonardo said, Buenos they all replied and cheered.

 They finished their meals and one of the female friend of Mr Leonardo Mrs Rosa summoned the person who cooked the dish.

 I came rushing in standing before them respectfully. "Are you the one who cooked this meal young lady" Mrs Rosa said with an expressionless face.

 My heart thumped as I spoke to reply, um....ye.....yes ma'am. Mrs Rosa stood silent for a while, which made me doubt my cooking skills for the very first time.

 Delicioso, fantastico these food is amazing what's your secret she said in a deep rooted Mexican tone.

 "phew", I let out a silent sigh of relief, I almost exploded with joy, they all enjoyed the meal that all Mr Leonardo friends tipped me with quite some amount of money.

 I was elated, at least I could do a whole lot more if I added all the money I received tonight to cater for my family.

 Although Mr Leonardo's gaze said something that scared a part of me, but I really didn't care I shifted my gaze from his , gracias I said as I exited from their presence and packed my bags to leave for the grocery store.

 As I opened the door to leave Mr Leonardo voice called out to me with some amount of money in his hands.

 Here is today's pay he said as he handed me the money, as I was about to thank him he turned his back and left abruptly, what a man I said as I hissed.

 I stood in the middle of the road calling out to taxi while the rain was gathering, taxi, taxi I called out but to no avail.

 Ten minutes later I saw a taxi and hurriedly left in it without asking or saying anything because the rain had already started drizzling quite a lot.

 15 minutes later i arrived at the store and asked for my transport bills. How much is my transport, 10 dollars ma'am, ok thank you I said as I stretched out my hands and gave him 10 dollars, I quickly went into the store to avoid getting drenched.

 I picked several groceries like hot dog, pancake, sugar, butter, apples and the rest, then I went to the payment section.

 After the bills were calculated I was happy because I knew that after I had paid the money I would still have some extra change to meet up with other expenses.

 Thank Goodness I saw another cab that took me home.

 I arrived at my house and entered quickly to see the condition of my mom and two sisters.

 "Mom" I called out to my early fifties' mom Mrs Tiffany luckily who was still a strong, agile and beautiful woman.

" Ah rose, my dear how are you, I just also came back from work not too long ago my" mom said, I am fine mom where is Tina and sky, those two are my sister's Tina is 18 while sky is 20 years old, they are in the kitchen making dinner for us.

 I was really touched to the deepest side of me that I was starting to get teary eyes, my family were so supportive and loving.

 "I was sure you would be tired by the time you got back from work, so I told them to cook instead" mom said, thank you mom I love you I said as I left for the kitchen to see my sister's.

 When I got to the kitchen I saw them both cooking cheerfully, so what are we doing here I said in a baritone voice.

 Ahhh they screamed on top of their lungs until they turned back and saw that it was me.

 Gosh sister you startled us sky said with a smiley face, hmmm Tina backed sky up.

 I have a surprise though I said, what surprise they asked. Ta-da I bought you guys junks and groceries.

 Woah I love it they both said as they started unpacking the stuffs I bought.

 Finally, dinner was served, and I ate to my heart content.

 Immediately I finished eating I went to take a shower and went straight to bed.

 The next morning immediately it was 6:00am my alarm woke me up from the amazing dream I was having where I was a billionaire and me and my family lacked nothing in our 95 million dollars house.

 Is it morning already I said as yawed, I checked the time, and it was already three minutes past six.

 Shoot am going to be late for work, I had to get to work 7:00 am sharp nothing more.

I stood up and headed for the bathroom to freshen up.

 In a couple of minutes I came in rushing downstairs to prepare breakfast before I left.

I broke some eggs into a bowl and then I started frying my bacon and toasting the bread, and lastly I boiled the water to make a hot refreshing tea.

 After I finished cooking I served the meal and went to each person's room to wake them.

 Mom breakfast is ready come downstairs, and you guys as well hurry, hurry I said shouting.

 Everybody came downstairs and sat in on the wooden chairs, as I was about to leave my mom called out to me.

 Rose won't you eat something before going,

ah... um...ok just a little, I bit Into the bread before I could chew I looked at the time it was 7:00 already, I took a sip out if the hot tea.

 Alright mom I gotta go, but eat a little bit more my mom said with worry and pity washing all over her face, bye mom.

   I walked out of our compound still chewing on the bread, I saw a bus from afar and started to chase it because if I missed the bus I'll definitely be late.

 Wait, wait I said running after the slowly moving bus like a psycho as I was running my shoes got loose and cut.

 Oh, please not now I said as I bent down to remove my shoe.

 I continued running till my feet ached, people stared at me, some stared at me with pity, some with disgust and some jerk were even mocking m, but I ignored them , and finally I was able to meet up with the bus.

" Where are you heading to" the conductor asked, Guisados restaurant.

 In twenty minutes we got to restaurant, I gave the conductor money and checked the time it was four minutes past 7:30.

 I entered the restaurant and luckily my boss had not come yet.

 I joined the rest in our morning cleaning, ten minutes later my boss arrived.

Good morning sir our voice echoed as we greeted him.

 Morning I hope everyone arrived early he said as he went from one person to another giving a cold glance that sent fear to every nook and cranny of oneself.

When he got to my place I started sweating profusely even though everywhere was cool, are you okay rose Mr Leonardo's voice echoed like a sound of thunder in my head. Mr Leonardo questions wasn't out of worry but on a mission to uncover something, but I wasn't ready to be exposed.

  Yes sir, I drank hot tea this morning,so i think there are some adverse effects that's all I let out a nervous smile.

 If you say so, so in the absence of any problem get to work, today is going to be a busy day some customers called me to place various orders, and they are I think up to thirty-five orders so rose prepare yourself to be drained.

 Oh, jeez not today I thought to myself, we cleaned the entire restaurant sparkling clean, and then we went to our various departments and started our various work.

 Five customers came In at the same time.

The order bell rang as one of my team brought the order papers to me each list was bulky but hey I am rose I can do anything.

 I took a long deep sigh as I read the order papers one by one, two tacos extra spicy and guacamole, one churro, three burritos and pozale, two chillequille and lastly one tamale.

 Whoa, these people are food monsters, I started cutting vegetables and mixing them.

 After one hour everybody had been served, I am already tired oh God today is really going to be a long day.

 Not quite long the order calls started coming in, and one by one I was able to deliver all the orders, it was already night when finally the last orders came in and I sent someone to deliver the food.

 Everybody was tired no one could barely move their bodies.

 I decided to give my mom a call that I'll be eating out because I was to tired to eat at home.

 I branched at a local Chinese restaurant where I knew the cost of the food won't be a burden on me.

 I ordered two buldak noodles and veggies, everything was 20 dollars.

 I ate and headed home straight, when I got home I didn't even bother to talk to anyone I just went straight to bed.
