Stiles Stilinski had seen some weird things in Beacon Hills. Kanimas. Nogitsunes. Lizard people. But he never expected to run into another werewolf pack... especially not in the middle of the Pacific Northwest, on a random road trip detour with Scott.
They were supposed to be heading to Portland for a supernatural summit. Instead, thanks to Scott’s “shortcut,” they ended up in La Push.
The Present
Part 1: Something Wolfy This Way Comes
La Push, Washington
The sky was gray, the air smelled like salt and pine, and Stiles was beginning to regret letting Scott drive.
“What shortcut even is this?” he muttered, squinting at his phone’s dead screen. No signal, no GPS. Classic horror movie setup.
“We’re fine,” Scott said cheerfully. “La Push isn’t even that far from the main highway. We’ll just stop, fuel up, and maybe stretch for a bit. You could use some fresh air.”
“I could use a cell tower,” Stiles grumbled.
They parked the Jeep near a diner that looked like it hadn’t changed since the 1970s. Inside, a few locals gave them curious glances. Stiles noticed most of them had that same, athletic build — and the same intense eyes.
Scott was tense.
“You feel that?” he whispered. “There’s something off.”
“I don’t feel things like you, wolf-boy,” Stiles replied. “But yeah. This place is vibing real ‘don’t poke the bear’ energy.”
After a rushed meal, Scott went off to check something “weird” in the woods, and Stiles—being Stiles—followed a huge pawprint deeper into the trees. That’s when he saw it: a massive, gray wolf watching him from between the pines.
“Okay, cool. Nope. We’re leaving. Immediately. Goodbye,” he muttered, pulling out his phone to snap a pic.
The wolf growled.
Then, before his eyes, it transformed — bones cracking, fur retracting, until a tall, tan-skinned guy stood there, only wearing shorts, glaring at him like he was the intruder.
“Do you always take pictures of dangerous animals, or am I just special?” the guy asked.
Stiles jumped back, heart racing. “Holy crap, you’re a werewolf!”
“Shapeshifter,” the guy corrected, folding his arms. “Embry Call. And you’re not supposed to be here.”
“I’m Stiles Stilinski. And I wasn’t planning on being here. Blame my best friend and his complete inability to follow a map.”
Embry squinted at him. “You smell like trouble.”
“You smell like wet dog. Let’s not start throwing insults.”
There was a pause. Then Embry laughed.
And Stiles realized, oh no, this guy might actually be kinda hot.

Stiles didn’t realize how deep into the forest he’d wandered until the Jeep was long out of sight and the trees started pressing in around him like walls. The air grew colder, quieter. The kind of quiet that screamed something's watching.
Which was, of course, when he saw the eyes — glowing red and low to the ground.
“Okay,” Stiles whispered, backing up slowly. “Cool. Not creepy at all. Definitely not about to get murdered in a vampire-infested forest.”
The creature moved. Fast. A blur of pale skin and hunger.
But just before it reached him — something slammed into it.
A massive gray wolf. No — not a wolf.
Embry.
Fur flew. Snarls echoed through the trees. The vampire hissed, trying to get a grip on Embry’s fur, but Embry moved with brutal, calculated force. The fight was messy, primal. And short.
The vampire bolted into the trees, wounded and shrieking.
Embry shifted mid-run, stumbling into his human form, breath heavy. He was bleeding, a long cut across his shoulder.
“Stiles,” he barked, eyes scanning the shadows. “Are you okay?”
Stiles blinked. “I—yeah. I mean, you know. Emotionally? Not great. But physically I’m only bleeding a little.”
Embry grabbed his arm, inspecting a small gash on his forearm.
“Silver?”
“Metal fence post,” Stiles muttered. “Tripped trying to be brave. Didn’t work out.”
Embry exhaled, relieved. “You’re lucky I caught your scent.”
Stiles gave a shaky laugh. “You tracking me now?”
Embry smirked. “Maybe. You’re kinda hard to ignore.”
Stiles’ heart skipped. Definitely not the blood loss.
---
They made their way to a cabin near the edge of the forest, half-hidden by vines and fog. Inside, it was warm and quiet. Embry pulled out a first-aid kit, clearly used to dealing with injuries.
“You know,” Stiles said, wincing as Embry cleaned his arm, “this wasn’t how I expected my day to go. Detour, sure. Shirtless werewolf bodyguard? Not on the bingo card.”
Embry chuckled. “You’ve seen worse.”
“True. But somehow, still surprised.”
There was a pause. Then Embry glanced at him, something unreadable in his expression.
“You’re not like most humans,” he said quietly.
Stiles tilted his head. “Weird, anxious, and deeply sarcastic?”
Embry shook his head. “No. Brave. Even when you’re scared.”
Stiles blinked.
“Well, crap,” he said. “Now I have to stay in La Push longer.”

...Now it's time for Fun Facts :...
...In Teen Wolf, Tyler Posey (Scott McCall) and Dylan O’Brien (Stiles Stilinski) became real-life best friends off-screen—and their hilarious bromance made many of their scenes even more iconic!...
Fun Fact part 2
Stiles is basically the king of sarcasm in Teen Wolf—his quick wit and hilarious one-liners often lightened even the darkest moments. His sarcasm wasn’t just for laughs though—it was also his way of coping with fear and stress, making him both funny and deeply relatable.
