Love Kickoff

Episode 1 – Scene: “The Return of Number 7”

[EXT. HIGASHI TOKYO HIGH SCHOOL – MORNING]

The school bell rings. Students pour into the gates, chatting and laughing. A luxury black bike rolls up to the school entrance. Riding it is EIKŌ HIROSHIMA, calm expression, headphones in, school bag slung over one shoulder. He kicks the stand down and looks up at the school building.

NARRATOR (V.O.):

Tokyo's skies are bright this morning… but no brighter than the return of Higashi’s golden boy.

[INT. HALLWAY – STUDENTS WHISPERING]

STUDENT 1:

“Yo… that’s him, right?”

STUDENT 2:

“The guy who scored that goal in last year’s finals…”

STUDENT 3:

“Number 7… Hiroshima Eikō.”

Eikō walks through the halls, unfazed, earphones still in, head held high. Students part like the Red Sea. He smirks slightly when he hears his name.

FLASHBACK – STADIUM, LAST YEAR’S FINAL

Crowd roars. Ball flies through the air. Eikō, in jersey #7, does a perfect Ronaldo-style air scissor-kick… BOOM—goal. Cut to him sliding on his knees, fists raised, crowd chanting his name.

CROWD (FLASHBACK):

“EIKŌ! EIKŌ! EIKŌ!”

BACK TO PRESENT – SCHOOL HALLWAY

Takashi runs up behind him, half out of breath.

TAKASHI:

“Yo! You just gonna ignore the whole fan club behind you or what?”

EIKŌ (removing headphones):

“Didn’t hear them over the sound of greatness.”

TAKASHI (laughs):

“Cocky as ever.”

EIKŌ (grinning):

“Confident, bro. There’s a difference.”

Camera zooms in on his jersey number keychain—#7—dangling from his bag.

NARRATOR (V.O.):

Some heroes fade after the final whistle…

…but this one’s just getting started.

[TITLE CARD APPEARS: “LOVE KICKOFF – EPISODE 1: THE RETURN OF NUMBER 7”]

---

Scene: “Homeroom Vibes & a Glimpse of Her”

[INT. HOMEROOM – 2-A – MOMENTS LATER]

Students are already seated. Takashi walks in behind Eikō as they step into class. Heads turn again. Eikō glances around the room with a half-smirk.

TAKASHI (whispers):

“Damn, even the chairs look nervous.”

EIKŌ (quiet laugh):

“Just trying to remember who runs this place.”

[SHOT TO: CLASSROOM DOOR SLIDING OPEN DRAMATICALLY]

A soft breeze rushes in as the door slides open. A girl enters, holding a notebook to her chest. She has long, dark brown hair, slightly curled at the ends, and calm, thoughtful eyes. She walks gracefully to her seat by the window.

Eikō notices her. Brief eye contact. Something subtle passes between them. She sits down, looks away.

NARRATOR (V.O.):

Not all goals are scored on the pitch… some begin with a glance.

TAKASHI (nudges Eikō):

“Ohhh… You saw that?”

EIKŌ (still looking at her seat):

“Who is she?”

TAKASHI:

“Ayame Kanzaki. Top of the class. Quiet. Mysterious. Rumor has it she hates sports.”

EIKŌ (raises an eyebrow):

“Hates… sports?”

TAKASHI:

“Yeah, bro. Bad news for Mr. Number 7, huh?”

EIKŌ (smirks):

“Maybe. Or maybe… she just hasn’t seen the right game yet.”

Takashi bursts out laughing as the teacher enters.

TEACHER:

“Settle down, class! It’s only day one, don’t act like it’s the World Cup!”

Students chuckle. Eikō takes the seat next to Ayame—just one seat apart. She glances at him again, quickly looks away. He notices but doesn’t push it.

---

Scene: “After Class – Quick Chat”

[INT. HALLWAY – LUNCH BREAK]

Eikō leans against the lockers, sipping a drink. Ayame walks past. Their eyes meet again.

EIKŌ:

“Kanzaki, right?”

AYAME (slightly surprised):

“…Hiroshima.”

EIKŌ (smiles):

“You remembered.”

AYAME:

“It’s hard not to remember a guy who caused an earthquake in the school stands last year.”

EIKŌ (grinning):

“Only a 6.2 on the hype scale.”

She smiles faintly but keeps walking. Takashi runs up again.

TAKASHI:

“You flirting already?”

EIKŌ:

“Nah… Just warming up for the season.”

___

Yessir, let’s hit Scene 2: Gym Class—time for Eikō to show just a taste of what he’s got, and maybe get some eyes on him (especially her). We'll keep it funny, smooth, and let the romance stay in the background like a good beat drop.

---

Scene 2 – “Gym Class Heat”

[INT. SCHOOL GYM – LATER THAT DAY]

Students are lined up in gym kits. The coach, a grumpy middle-aged man with a whistle always in his mouth, steps forward.

COACH MORITA:

“Alright, people! I know it’s the first day, but no one’s getting a free ride this year. We start with 5 laps, full court. If you puke, aim for the trash can. Let’s go!”

STUDENTS (groaning):

“Ughhhh…”

Eikō smirks, stretching casually. Takashi stands beside him, already regretting life.

TAKASHI:

“Why does this feel like boot camp?”

EIKŌ:

“Gotta keep the legs warm, bro.”

The students start jogging. Eikō quickly pulls ahead without trying too hard. His form is smooth, natural. Other students start noticing.

STUDENT 1:

“He doesn’t even look tired…”

STUDENT 2:

“He’s on a different level, man.”

Ayame is sitting on the bench with a few other girls, tying her shoe. She looks up and sees Eikō effortlessly running past the group. Their eyes meet again—just for a second.

NARRATOR (V.O.):

She didn’t like football… but she couldn’t look away from the boy who played it like poetry.

COACH MORITA (blows whistle):

“Alright, time for a quick ball control test. You—Hiroshima! You’re up.”

EIKŌ:

“Thought you’d never ask.”

*Coach tosses a football across the gym. Eikō traps it mid-air with his thigh, juggles three times, flicks it behind his back, spins, and volleys it into the basketball hoop from across the gym. Swish.

The whole class pauses. Silent.

STUDENT 3:

“No way…”

TAKASHI (grinning):

“He’s such a show-off, bro.”

COACH MORITA (scratches his head):

“…Alright. You’re excused.”

Eikō gives a small bow with a smirk and walks off to the side. Ayame watches, pretending not to, but her foot taps to a rhythm—maybe admiration, maybe curiosity.

---

Scene Transition

Bell rings. Students head out.

TAKASHI:

“You just had to hit the hoop, huh?”

EIKŌ:

“Had to wake 'em up a little.”

TAKASHI (noticing Ayame glancing over):

“I think you woke someone else up too.”

EIKŌ (cool smile):

“Game recognizes game.”

EPISODE 2: “Tryouts & Hidden Feelings”

[INT. EIKŌ’S PENTHOUSE – EARLY MORNING]

Sunlight pours through the massive windows. Eikō sits on a sleek black couch, tying his boots. A wall-mounted screen shows old football highlights—Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008, dancing past defenders. Eikō mimics the footwork with a smirk.

EIKŌ (to himself):

“Today’s the day. Tryouts… let’s see who’s really built for this.”

---

[INT. SCHOOL LOCKER ROOM – LATER]

The football locker room is buzzing. Dozens of students—returning players, new challengers—are lacing up, hyping themselves up. Coach Nakamura stands by the whiteboard, arms crossed.

COACH NAKAMURA:

“This year we don’t play favorites. I don’t care if you were MVP last year or benched all season—everyone starts from zero. Let’s see who’s hungry.”

He looks at Eikō for a second longer than the others. Eikō just nods calmly, eyes focused.

---

[EXT. FOOTBALL FIELD – SCHOOL GROUNDS – MOMENTS LATER]

The tryout drills begin. Speed tests, passing accuracy, mini-matches. Eikō moves like lightning—controlled, sharp, unpredictable. A defender charges at him—he steps over once, twice—gone.

STUDENT 1:

“Bro, he’s glitching.”

TAKASHI (watching proudly):

“That’s my boy.”

---

[INT. CLASSROOM – AYAME SITS BY THE WINDOW, LOOKING OUT]

From her seat, she watches the tryouts happening on the field below. She sees Eikō score a ridiculous top-corner goal. She closes her notebook and just… watches.

AYAME (quietly):

“Hmph… same stupid sport.”

A pause.

AYAME (softly):

“…But he’s different.”

---

[EXT. FIELD – FINAL TRYOUT MATCH – SUN SETTING]

The final scrimmage is intense. Eikō gets double-marked. Still finds space. Takashi plays a beautiful through-ball. Eikō doesn’t hesitate—he flicks it past the keeper with the outside of his foot. Clean. Net ripples.

COACH NAKAMURA (blows whistle):

“Tryouts over!”

Players collapse from exhaustion. Eikō just walks off like it was another day at the office. Takashi jogs beside him.

TAKASHI:

“Bro. You’re not human.”

EIKŌ (grins):

“Just built different.”

---

[INT. PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE – NIGHT]

Coach Nakamura and Principal Fujikawa watch Eikō’s tryout footage.

PRINCIPAL FUJIKAWA:

“He’s matured. Fast.”

COACH NAKAMURA:

“Yeah… but he’ll need more than talent this year. Pressure’s coming. Rival schools, scouts, the media...”

PRINCIPAL:

“And the heart?”

COACH:

“…Let’s hope he doesn’t lose it.”

---

[INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY – NEXT MORNING]

Eikō walks by the bulletin board. A paper is posted:

“HIGASHI TOKYO FIRST TEAM – 2025”

His name is at the top: EIKŌ HIROSHIMA – Jersey #7

He walks away, emotionless… but he clenches his fist. Quiet pride.

Ayame watches from the classroom door. Their eyes meet again.

AYAME (to herself):

“Why… do I care?”

---

[ENDING SCENE – POST-CREDITS STYLE]

[EXT. RIVAL SCHOOL – NIGHT]

A tall figure stands on a private field, juggling a ball effortlessly. Cold eyes. Expensive cleats. His coach walks over.

COACH:

“You saw the list. He’s back.”

RIKU HAYASHI (smirks):

“Eikō Hiroshima… Hmph. I’ve been waiting.”

---

Scene 1: “Game Day – The Kickoff Begins”

[EXT. SCHOOL STADIUM – AFTERNOON]

The bleachers are packed. Students, teachers, parents—all buzzing with energy. Higashi Tokyo High’s first game of the season is about to begin. The team is huddled in the locker room. Coach Nakamura walks in with intensity.

COACH NAKAMURA:

“Today is more than just football. It’s the day we show everyone who we are. I don’t care about mistakes—I care about effort, about fight, about leaving the pitch with no regrets!”

The players cheer. Eikō stands up last, calm but focused, then slaps the team logo on the wall.

EIKŌ:

“Let’s cook.”

---

[INT. FIELD – KICKOFF]

The whistle blows. Eikō takes the first touch. He looks up, scans the pitch like a pro. Within seconds, he’s dribbling past two players. The crowd erupts.

COMMENTATOR (STUDENT BROADCAST):

“Eikō Hiroshima already breaking ankles, folks! This isn’t football—it’s art!”

The match is tight. Takashi threads passes through tight gaps. The opposing team plays rough—targeting Eikō with hard fouls. But he doesn’t lose his cool.

COACH NAKAMURA (shouting):

“Keep your head, Number 7!”

EIKŌ (wiping sweat):

“I’m good… Watch this.”

In the 75th minute, Eikō pulls out a fake step-over, chips the keeper from outside the box—GOAL. The crowd loses it. Final score: 2–1. Victory.

---

Scene 2: “Ayame’s Secret”

[INT. SCHOOL LIBRARY – NEXT DAY]

Ayame sits alone, quietly flipping through a notebook. On one page: photos of her as a child in a football uniform… standing next to a smiling man—her older brother, in a pro youth academy.

NARRATOR (V.O.):

Before she became the quiet top student, Ayame Kanzaki lived for football. But that life vanished when someone she loved disappeared from the field forever.

Takashi randomly enters the library, sees her, and recognizes the uniform.

TAKASHI:

“Wait… is that you? You used to play?”

She quickly closes the book, looking away.

AYAME:

“That was a long time ago.”

TAKASHI (genuinely):

“Guess you and Eikō aren’t so different after all.”

She says nothing, but her eyes drift toward the field visible outside the window… and her expression softens.

---

Scene 3: “The Rival Returns”

[INT. PRIVATE ACADEMY – NIGHT PRACTICE]

Riku Hayashi trains under floodlights. He’s sharp, composed, deadly. A scout watches from the sidelines, impressed. Riku finishes a dribble, stares straight into the camera.

RIKU:

“So Eikō Hiroshima is back on the pitch… I wonder if he still plays scared.”

FLASHBACK – YOUTH MATCH YEARS AGO

A younger Eikō faces off against Riku. Riku crushes him with a tackle and scores.

RIKU (V.O.):

“You’ll never beat me again. Not until you stop hiding behind that smile.”

---

[INT. HIGASHI HIGH – LOCKER ROOM – NEXT DAY]

Eikō opens his locker. Inside—an envelope. No name. Just a message:

> “Riku’s waiting.”

He pauses. Face serious. The past is calling.

EIKŌ (to himself):

“Didn’t think I’d have to face him this soon…”

---

Scene 4: “Sparks in the Silence”

[INT. ROOFTOP – SUNSET]

Eikō sits on the edge of the school rooftop, football beside him. Ayame finds him there, quiet as always.

AYAME:

“You skipped class again.”

EIKŌ (smirking):

“I was studying the wind.”

She walks up beside him, sits.

EIKŌ (softly):

“You ever miss something you used to love?”

She looks surprised.

AYAME:

“…Every day.”

They sit in silence for a beat. Wind rustling. The city glowing in the background.

EIKŌ (smiling slightly):

“You don’t talk much.”

AYAME:

“You talk enough for both of us.”

EIKŌ:

“Fair. But when you do talk… I listen.”

Their hands almost touch, but neither of them moves. Just the silence… and the spark.
