My name is Daniella. I'm 16 yrs old. I live in Ottawa. I'm a single child. My life is normal and I'm really happy with it.

I have 3 family members my mom, my dad, and me.

Sometimes I do think that it would be great if I had a sibling but I dont have to think about sharing ice cream and do all sorts of things a sister should do.

Everything was as usual my mom was cooking us dinner and I was studying and my dad was about to come from his office.

After 10 min...

Me-Good evening Dad.

Dad-Good evening sunshine, where is your mother?

Me-She's in the kitchen.

Dad-Hey honey look I have a surprise for you, I have just got promoted and we're leaving and we're going to Taiwan. Wohoo..

And that's when everything changed...

After a Month..

We moved to Taiwan and settled. My dad is happy about his promotion and my mom is happy too .

I got admitted to xx university of Taiwan.

I thought different country, different people It'll take some time to fit in but I will eventually.

But it didn't turn out like that. Whenever I tried to talk to someone they would ignore me and no one actually paid any attention to me. So just like that I was lonely with no friends.

But after some time a foreign exchange student came in our class and he was descent, polite and he actually talked to me.

(Probably because he sat beside me 😅)

His name was Zohan.

He was muslim, his mother died when he was born and he lives with his father.

Since then we became good friends.

We both often relied on each other whenever we got into trouble at school.

We decided to meet at the usual place- Huang Ji Cafe.

When I got there I saw him talking to some other girl, I walked towards them.

She was Zohan's friend, and they were really close which made me a bit uncomfortable.

I don't know why.

Then as the time passed I started to realise that I like him.

I decided to confess to him although I knew it would be dangerous as all the girls were crazy about him.

It's his fault why did he have to be so handsome 🙍‍♀️.

So I went to the field to look for him but I didn't found him so I decided to leave a love letter in his bag.

I secretly put it in his bag and I was going out to catch some air but suddenly someone grabbed my shirt from behind.

It was Emma and her gang, she is so in love with him that she even hates his father.

So you can think about me😅

She took me in the library which was empty, and threw my letter towards me.

She threw some lunch on me and scolded me and told me to stay away from Zohan.

I didn't give up though.

I took that letter to a tree where only we both hangout and I left.

He got that letter and the next day I was ready to encounter my fear.

Fear of loosing a friend like him.

But he didn't came to school and I thought it was my fault I should have never confessed to him so he wouldn't have to think how should he face me.

I was so upset but then suddenly he came into class and hugged me, I hugged him back and I was crying. I was so sad for what I had done.

I told him he don't have to think about it anymore and just pretend it didn't happen because I didn't wanted to loose him.

But he stared at me and scolded me. He said if I had told him earlier then he wouldn't had to wait so much.

It turns out he also liked me but was afraid to tell just so he couldn't loose me.

I was so happy, it felt great i was really excited for our future and i was really looking forward to it.

I told my parents that I like a boy in school and I asked their permission to date him .

My parents were were very cool so they allowed me and told me to bring him for dinner.

I invited him, the next day.

At the house-

We were at the dining table, my mom and dad serious, I looked at him he was nervous and I could tell that as he was wearing different socks.😂😂

My dad asked his name, he said Zohan.

My dad stood up and said that he's full and he is going back to his room.

Zohan stood up and asked my dad for his permission to date me.

But my dad gave him a cold look and said he will never allow me to even talk to him.

I stood up angrily and said-

Me- But dad you don't even know what kind of a person he is, how can you say that.

Dad- I am simply stating that you can't date him.

Me- But why??

Dad- bcoz he is Muslim.

I was so shocked after what he said, he is not that kind of person who will shout at others.

I looked at mom and hoped she would say something as she is understandable and I could count on her.

But she didn't said anything, I told dad that zohan is the only one I love and I can rely on him and no matter what others say I will date him.

Dad boiled with anger he turned to zohan and said I will never allow my daughter to date you. You shall leave and you're not allowed here anymore and you can't meet my daughter.

I objected but my mom shut me up and said that I'm grounded and I can never leave the house.

Daniella's POV

After I confronted my parents they locked me in my room and told me I was grounded. For the next few days I sat by the window. Always wondering where Zohan would be, what he would be doing. My father put fences all around our house so I couldn't meet him when he would come. Few days passed.....

At night he came and pulled out all the fence with a pair of scissors and jumped into my room, I was startled...I thought it was a robber.

Zohan- daniella...daniella

I- Zohan? what are u doing here?

wait how did u get in?

Zohan- From the window, I jumped in.

Come on let's go..

I- where?

Zohan- somewhere no one would find us, let's go with me,I have talked to my Dad and he agreed for our marriage. 😊😊

I- He did!☺

Zohan- yes he did, now come on pack your things and go with me. I promise we'll live a wonderful life, I also got a job.

I- Hm..let's go

I turned around and saw my house for the last time. Then we went to the airport and booked a flight to Vancouver. We also got our deposit money and our savings which we saved in our houses.

We got married and lived a great life. After a year I had a baby it was girl, such a beautiful and delicate girl, I was so happy to see that I got my baby. Zohan was so so excited and desperate to see me and our baby. He said it's going to be a new life and he's ready to take the responsibility as a father. Seeing him saying those words reminded me of my dad 😟

I cried at the moment, he saw me and asked what happened?

I told him I miss my parents and want to see them, I want them to meet their granddaughter.

He said let's discharge first and then we'll set off back to Taiwan.

After a few days we went back to my old house. I saw my parents sitting in the backyard and I started crying 😭. I haven't seen them in years and I saw them and they grew old and I just couldn't stop crying. I ran towards them and hugged them, I told them I missed them so much and I'm sorry for running away but I had no choice, I loved Zohan.

My parents looked at me and told me they missed me and that they were really sorry for not listening to me and being unreasonable. Then Zohan came and greeted them while holding the baby.

My parents were really happy as they saw the baby, they said that baby has my eyes👀.

After that we reunited and took my parents with me to Vancouver. Zohan's father also came to meet his granddaughter and me. He said he's happy for us and his blessings are always with us.....
