I’m Abel Riverbranch and right now I’m inside of a local forest. Now you might be curious why I’m in this forest or a forest overall. Well, that is a kinda long story so I’ll just give you a brief explanation. When I was 6 my parents got robbed and murdered when they were traveling with me to my grandpa for a visit. In the middle of the journey, they noticed that something suspicious was happening outside the wagon and tucked me away in a blanket to hide me. Luckily I got out of that accident unscratched but unfortunately, I could not say the same about my parents. An hour after the robbery took place my grampa came riding on a horse at full speed to find the destroyed wagon and his grandson. After the incident, I was taken in by my grandpa and his friend who lived next door. That friend of my grampa happened to be a beast trainer, a beast trainer is a person that fights by using their beast companion or companions instead of using their own strength. In this world, there are three factions. The first faction is the Martial artists, they use a combination of different types of weapons and techniques as swordsmanship and such, and they use magical molecules to enhance their body, thoughts, and strength, there is a one in a hundred of becoming a martial artist and is the most common of the three. The second faction is the mages that emit magical molecules in order to summon magical power and release there is a one in a thousand to become a mage and is the second most common of the factions. The last and third faction is the beast trainers that instead of using magical molecules to gather strength and fight they use it to create a contract that they forge with a magical beast, there are three ways of forging a contract with a magical beast, with a scroll imputed with magical energy that can make a beast subdue without any commotion the downside is that contract scrolls are really expensive and hard to find, the others are the soul and blood contracts witch is very alike in the fact that both use one’s soul to subdue the beast but there is a major difference between the two. Soul contracts are created by the magical beast by integrating a bit of its own soul in yours, this only works if both parties are willing. Blood contracts are more forceful in the sense that the contractor or the trainer cuts a scar in the beast’s body and imbues their soul into the blood of the beast to weaken their soul and after penetrating their soul sea they forge a contract. A soul sea is wears the soul of a being has there core, the soul sea is usually located in the heart which is why the blood is used to penetrate the soul sea.

That should be everything right? No? Oh, yea I have yet to explain me being in a forest. Well me being in this forest is related to what I just explained, you see I’m a beast trainer and my grandpa's friend George Rockcliffs student, he was the one who told me what I just told you. As this is my seventh year studying under George’s supervision and me being old enough to take the entrance exam and enroll att Ranakss academy. Ranakss academy is an academy everyone that wants to be something in this continent wants to attend Ranakss academy because they are the best and most successful in the continent of Akanera. Ranakss has three departments Martial arts, Mages and beast trainers and a study year of five years, from thirteen to eighteen after that you can be free to do whatever some people even chose to stay and study more and may even become a teacher at Ranakss. But there is a catch every third month Ranakss will send you on a mission which can wary from escort, slaying and the like. Annnnd I'm getting off topic again aren't I? Now back to me I was sent on a mission by George and that is to make my first contract with a beast, And why just now? Well when humans turn thirteen they develop their soul sea making it possible first now to contract with beasts. So I’m here to hunt down a suitable beast to forge a contract with and gain some experience sleeping and living in the wilderness. George will pick me up in half a month's time and I already have a backpack with the essentials, knife, pot, rope, a magic stone that can purify water and a magic stone that can track and check my health so George can find me and rescue me if I get seriously injured. While I was explaining all of this three days have gone by in that time I have put up a camp, maped the surroundings, noted down the surroundings beast and mapped out their territories and that's it. To the west and south of me are red hare territory, red hares always hunt and live in groups of five there are only E ranked beasts. The ranks are set on beast depending on their individual strength from E to S with 5 tiers between them, so as the red hare as an example a fully grown adult red hare is tier 2 E-ranked. To the east and north are different because no beasts have marked territory over there and there are some groups of tier 4 up E-rank and even D-rank beast living in this forest there no match against the overwhelming population of red hares. Oh I nearly forgot to mention something the rank of a beast can vary, if a beast trainer forged a contract with a red hare for example the trainer would do their best to train their beast. In this case a red hare from tier 2 E-rank to maby D-rank so what i'm saying is that the limit of a beast lies entirely on their trainer the beast can only have talent. On that note there is one more thing i want to mention before we continue, a baby beast will not have the same rank as the adult form.

I am only on the first stage of the soul sea since my soul sea just formed but I can train my soul with various techniques. And I've got one of those techniques by George to train while I’m in this forest. The soul sea is divided into five stages, soul sea, soul core, soul space, soul room and lastly soul realm with five stages between each, aaaaaaaah… ”dunce”

-That hurt like hell, since when there was a cliff here, wait I can't breath and everything is blurry but wait I can feel and move my arms and legs and I feel the dirt on my skin. Huh, there's something on my head, angh, haah now i can breathe, huh so it was just a slime wait... wait, wait thats my bag no don’t touch that scroll wait Nooooooooo!!!

So that’s how I got a slime as my first beast. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO!!! How can I show myself to George with a slime, he’ll abandon me in a second (he wouldn't). Okey, okey, okey let’s check his stats it might not be so bad:

Well I’m dead but I can’t just cry about it so let’s make a plan on how I’ll spend my days. First I’ll start hunting red hares, make my slime receive a bit of hits and later absorb them. After that I’ll cook the slime in a pot over a fire to make his heat resistance go up then dump him in an underground lake I found and have been collecting cool water from to raise his cold resistens. And I’ll make him absorb some minerals, stone, plants and other stuff I find to level up his absorb ability and maybe get him a new skill. Plus I’ll have to practice my soul techniques at the same time so this will be a long two weeks. 

One week later

I have good news and bad, so let’s begin with the bad. I have raised the awareness of the red hares and magnet to pull their aggro, which lead me to realise that there are hire leveled red hares called Blood hares. The only difference between a blood hare and a red hare is that blood hares are late E-rank and have a horn on their forehead. But there is some good news. First of all I have risen to the second stage of soul sea and the slime which I have named Lime has risen two levels, got some better stats and the skills have risen in level as well. But by far the best news is that the slime managed to absorb not one but two new skills.
