Nini moved out of her home. In the hope to find herself a peaceful year without watching her parents' breaking things and yelling at each other every day.
The fights would break at any time.
It was her 16th birthday when she heard a loud crashing sound behind the wall and her fingers curled up at an instant.
She didn't want to believe they were fighting again after her friends were invited to the party. She stopped her friends from going inside and walked herself just to see them sneering and commanding each other to not raise their voices.
The scene made her eyeballs tremble and she stepped back in hurry, in the action of doing so, she stepped onto something slippery and next thing she knew was her eyes vision getting blurred as she touched something on her forehead and it was her own blood.
The ruckus made her parents' to stop fighting and run towards her calling her name out.
Not a pretty birthday memory.
The next day when she woke up, she told them instead to send her off somewhere. Anywhere where she can be herself.
Her parents understood her problem as her grades were being affected by their growing fights and they decided to contact the mom's cousin as they knew he could be of help.
At that time, Nini mostly closed her connections and friendship with other girls. It was all too much to handle and her friends eventually stopped visiting her home or talking with her at school.
As soon as she passed the exam and entrance exam of her new school. They sent her off.
She never felt so happy and light before. She loved her parents but she was afraid that they truly wanted to break their marriage. They were only suffering because of her existence. Which made her filled with guilt and she would just sit some times and watch stars thinking how she can wish over the star to turn everything back to normal
As it was always.
She traveled in the train alone, she had once visited her grandparents alone without telling anyone and which she got scolded for but that really helped her into making this first move on her own.
She was informed that there will be someone on the train station waiting for her so she will only go with them after confirming it with her parents. She texted that she is doing well and they doesn't have to worry too much.
Through the train window, she could see the vast land of beautiful grasses and spring flowers. One time she passed over the longest bridge she only heard and saw on the books which she used to read in her personal time.
The river underneath her was blue and several fishes swam inside of the water on a transparent surface.
She leaned more on the window and smiled at herself. Her luscious and long hair wavered with the breeze of the cold wind of the mountain heights.
She could perfectly hear the birds chirping over the valley and her getting close to her destination. She had started her journey yesterday evening so she was sure after the bridge she might have crossed half of the journey.
In the meantime. She slept and waited for her arrival at Saintown. A lively and old time city known for it's beautiful architecture and amazing food options at the shore of the ocean.
She never knew that she would be lucky enough to be given a chance to study at such wonderful place.
As she climbed out of the train with the other passengers, she looked around her surroundings.
Her long journey was covered wearing comfortable and soft fits, she fixed her red beanie over her head and her dark brown eyes travelled through the crowd.
A bit overwhelmed by the population of strangers as she roamed around to search for the people who were looking for her.
But it didn't took long to find them as they were literally capturing a spot to wait for her. They came when she was about to arrive and she had already spoken to her mom.
Crowd couldn't pass that area as 4 people as buffed and tall as her own dad waited for her with a big board in their hand. Printed her name and with the arrow.
After reading her name several times, she confirmed that they were there for her.
She walked towards them as their bored faces lit up as soon as she approached them.
They didn't meet her before but they had seen her mother once and they instantly knew that her image was the reflection of her mother.
She got dark hair, a deep set of eyes, a kind look and femininity sprouting from her body as she bowed to respect them. In return they bowed back and asked her to not do that again as it is against the rules to serve the Lovelot clan.
The Lovelot were the family who owned 3 school's in this city. 2 were run by the other brother's and the main school was of the youngest brother.
She nodded again and her cheeks flushed due to . She never met her uncle before so she wasn't sure what kind of man he was. But she had an idea that he was quite professional and majestic to be running such a big school.
They took her luggage and asked her to not wait for them as there was already a car outside of the station for her to use.
She felt out of place. But she listened and smiled at them, following one of the man to the car as he opened it for her and talked with the driver for a while.
The call came from her mom and she answered it fast.
"Yes mom."
"Have you reached your uncle's house?"
"Quiet not, I am just leaving for the place."
"Okay, once you reached there, don't forget to call back."
"Yeah, I understand."
The call ended.
She felt fresh and new, like she had been born again.
She watched the city unfolding by itself as she opened the window and enjoyed the city and its people.
She didn't know such a place existed to this day and that her mom's side family was this rich and living in such a land of beauty. She felt envious and her admiration was only going to grow with the time.
Because her parents were forced to be in their arranged marriage, they had stopped talking to any of their families. Which led Nini to grow up thinking that it was only her and her parents. No siblings lead her to be who she is now. She doesn't know how to fight or doesn't understand why people compete for small things.
But luckily she was smart innately.
Which helped her a lot in making friends and that she never missed any of the time when anyone wants to befriend her. She is a very open-minded and lovely person. Sometimes attracting bad people around her but she is still strong minded and never proves herself to the crowd's opinion of herself.
But changing city and school was a big step for her as she was so used to going to the same local school in her own life. It was a public school and she didn't know how private school works. How students act and what is necessary to adapt in such an environment.
The thought has crossed once it twice but she had shrugged it off. Not until she is actually under the sky of Saintown and her heart couldn't stop being anxious of the unknown.
She never felt such intense fear of being rejected by the crowd before. It was given to her to be loved by students as she was ideal for most of the people there.
What if nobody liked her?
What if nobody wants to befriend her?
What if she couldn't adapt to the new environment and school?
So many questions swirled back to back in her mind and her head hurt. She breathed as she remembered how she had stopped breathing altogether.
'No, what are you thinking Nini? You got this.'
The car entered the big house built on the high top of the mountain facing the city upfront, the ocean was seen from there and it was breathtaking. The wind was also a little strong up there.
But it was a perfect place for the big house or you can say a mansion to be located at. It suited the scenery.
But she got intimidated by the huge size of the house and the incredible garden attached to the playground where several activity equipment and structures were planted for the use.
There was a big balcony at the front facing the porch and garden.
Her lips twitched at the sight and she thought to return back to her home. Now she missed it even if it was a pathetic and cowardly decision.
"Mr. Lovelot is not home due to his work, Miss Nini, you can now go inside as we have arrived."
She pointed at herself in surprise, not that thought he was talking with her or not, she just couldn't get herself to walk out of the car and was just making it longer for herself to stay where she was.
But the driver just smiled and waited for her to walk out.
She smiled back, hiding her facade of her frightened and anxious inner self.
She slowly opened the door and walked out.
There was a guy who just entered in the front of the balcony with the robe and wet blonde hair. He walked slowly to the balcony railing as he watched a new girl walk out of the car.
Her hair was hiding her face as she leaned on the driver's window and talked with him a bit, maybe stretching her time to not enter inside without her uncle's presence.
He watched her in disinterest.
'Who's that girl?'
He thought and kept looking at her back.
She turned around after a while and their eyes met. She froze in discomfort but a smile cracked in her face, trying her best to fill the gap of unfriendliness from her face.
His nose scrunched in dislike at her almost very quickly. She was pretty and humble looking, but she reminded him of his Aunt very quickly. That witch woman could never be good news.
Thinking about his Aunt's face, he immediately made her first impression to be a bad impression. His face couldn't hide his dislike as he turned around and left the balcony leaving the puzzled Nini at her feet.
'What was that?'
And now.
After seeing the first person, the family member of that house reacted so distantly and defensively to her arrival.
Her heart thumped and she looked down instantly. A guilt trip coming onto her mind.
That was the sign she wasn't going to be liked by anyone.
That was the first sign that she should run back to her home.
But instead. She curled her hands into fist and bravely looked up - "You have come this far Nini, you can't get discouraged so easily."
And she entered the house with her heavy foot and heart.
