Venomous Warmth(Novel)

Chapter 1: prologue

Dragomir Law Firm—The number one law firm in Macau. A firm ruled by a man whose name alone strikes fear into criminals.

The youngest Prosecutor General in the judiciary history of Macau...

A man who is not just the law but the verdict and executioner.

A man who creates laws, yet bends none for himself.

A man who remains alert, clever, and sharp, even in his subconscious state.

Nothing escapes his hawk-like gaze.

A man of his word....A man who never learned to kneel.

A man who can strip away lies, break facades, and stare into the soul of his opponent while sitting calmly with a cunning smirk.

At 27, he is a dangerously handsome hunk, capable of making any heart stutter with just a glance into his crystal ocean eyes.

His deep, pungent chuckle is enough to paralyze his enemies with fear. But his soft, warm laughter?—A spell that drives any woman insane to ecstasy...

A mentor to thousands. A nightmare to many.

But—

Despite being the pillar of the judiciary system, he has deep roots in the dark world. Despite being a law enforcer, he is a feared name among lawbreakers.

His presence is 'venomous' to those who dare defy the law. But He's a 'warmth' to his loved ones. And, of course, the most guileful, cunning, and ruthless man, just as his name suggests.

             ""Kenan Dragomir""

CEO of Dragomir Law Firm and 'Prosecutor General', handling the most classified and high-stakes military cases.

A man whose name echoes in courtrooms and the underworld alike.

A man who never lets anyone touch his soul. A man who never cared for the touch of another.

He has only two obsessions:

One—'The Judiciary '

Second—'Blackie ', his beloved car.

But soon, something else will become his favorite. Something his fingers will crave....

Something his palm will yearn to grasp....

Something that will become an addiction he never saw coming....

And that will be-

         ~Holding her hand~

Because once he does, he will never want to let go....

***________________***

A small, cozy cottage nestled in the serene embrace of green mountains in Norway...

A place that itself transforms into a bouquet of roses in the heart of spring. A place, where every step feels heavenly.

And in this paradise, a girl with an angelic face lives...She has raven-black hair, but under sunlight, it glows into ash-brown shades, as if she were Goddess Athena herself.

Her brown irises radiate a warmth that could brighten even the coldest blue skies.

Wherever she sees flowers in bloom, she gathers them, like an expert in her craft. She plucks with such care that the stem remains untouched, ensuring new blossoms always rise again.

A florist by profession, she sells flowers by the seashore.

And according to her, the sea speaks to her, through waves that echo her thoughts, through seagulls that carry hidden messages.

She is petite, free, and exquisite....

just like her name.

       ""Charlotte Aldrich""

At 25, she is the kind of beauty that makes onlookers believe in goddesses. The kind of beauty that reminds one of Venus, the Goddess of Love. But—

Is she really as delicate and exquisite as she seems? Or is this just a beautifully crafted mask?—a mask that exudes 'warmth' to hide the 'venomous' strength beneath?

Some say angels have black hair...But what if her raven strands are nothing but Medusa's trap?

What if her warm gaze could turn into volcanic eruptions in an instant?

Her plump lips can be as 'Venomous' as they are euphoric.

She is a storm in heels...Her footsteps are soundless, like a silent predator.

And when she rides, she doesn't just ride, she flies on her Kawasaki like a real Ghost Rider.

Her fox-like eyes can cut through darkness with frightening ease.

Clever as the devil, twice as beautiful. She is divine violence. A beast's mind with a goddess's face.

And she is as unyielding as a mountain, because her profession demands it. She is Russia's most elite secret agent, trained in the Moscow Military Base.

            ""Agent Chéri""

the lioness of her department.

And like him, she has two obsessions.

Her first?—'Storm '

her beloved Kawasaki bike.

Her second?—'Eyeliner '.sharp enough to kill.

And soon...she will add a third.

           ~His fragrance~

Just like his obsession will be holding her hand...Her obsession will be remembering how he smells.

But the real question is..... Will she ever hold his hand? Or will she be the one to bring destruction with her own hands?

Her warmth or her venomous trick... which will ruin him first?

But then again— is it really that easy to escape his 'venomous warmth?'

Or has fate already intertwined the destinies of these two ruthless souls?

One must fall....One must break....

But who will be the real beast?

Will this 'Venomous ' queen kneel before her king's warmth or his wrath?

Because in the end—what happens when fire meets fire?

When two lethal souls, bound by duty, vengeance, and deception, collide... Will love be their salvation, or their ultimate downfall?

Will his 'Venomous warmth ' melt her frozen heart? Or will her deadly charm shatter his ironclad will?

Because when the beast falls for the huntress, there's only one truth left to face....

In this game of obsession and betrayal, only one will survive.

so....

Who will be the 'Venomous '? And who will be the "warmth "?

And how will their euphoric warmth of love turn into a "venomous warmth "?

Let’s begin the fiery yet enchanting journey of Kenan and Charlotte, where love burns with intensity and every stolen glance promises an unforgettable passion.

chapter 2: the Venemous prosecutor

[At Dragomir Law Firm]

All the chairs in the conference room were occupied by important prosecutors, attorneys, and lawyers.....except for one.

That chair was beside the head seat. Arwan Dragomir, the Attorney General of the firm, sat in his chair with a dominant aura, his face filled with pride.

His elder son had once again made him proud by solving one of the most intense and confidential cases of the North Korean Agency.

The door of the conference room was opened by Asaph, Kenan Dragomir's secretary... As soon as Kenan entered, flanked by his guards, the entire room echoed with applause. Kenan arched his left eyebrow slightly, the corner of his lips curving up in a subtle smirk.

Arwan stood up, his chest swelling with pride. Then, stepping forward, he pulled Kenan into a warm hug.

"Why did you come back from your U.S. tour so suddenly?" Kenan whispered while hugging his father.

"Of course, I had to be here to witness the proud moment of my son being appreciated by everyone." Arwan broke the hug and gripped Kenan's shoulders firmly.

Kenan gave a small nod, his expression calm yet powerful.

Arwan turned towards the room. "Gentlemen..."

The room went silent.

"Kenan Dragomir, Head of the Civil Criminal Law Department and The Prosecutor General, has once again proven that crime can never stay hidden if we give our best." Arwan continued to speak.

Kenan stood tall, his expression unreadable, one hand tucked into his pocket.

Arwan continued, "Today, he has achieved what no other attorney could." He placed a hand on Kenan's shoulder.

Another round of applause erupted.

"Kenan, share your experience with your colleagues," Arwan said, stepping aside.

Kenan gave a slight nod before walking towards the rostrum. He adjusted the microphone, gripping it between the knuckles of his index and middle fingers. His deep, commanding voice filled the room...."Good afternoon, everyone."

A few female employees swallowed hard, their cheeks heating up. That voice....deep, rich, and undeniably masculine having the power to send shivers down anyone's spine.

"Thank you for your appreciation," Kenan continued. "But I would like to give full credit to my team. A leader is nothing without his comrades."

He then began sharing insights from the case, ensuring others could learn from the experience. And after a while, he returned to his seat beside Arwan.

Arwan leaned forward. "Now, let's go through this month's cases." He looked at a lady who seemed in her late twenties, "Attorney Gwen, we'll start with you."

"Sure, sir." Gwen stood up and began presenting her case.

Kenan listened attentively until his phone buzzed in his pocket. Without drawing attention, he pulled out his phone and glanced at the screen. A message notification popped up.

"You're back from North Korea and didn't bother to tell me?"

A smirk tugged at his lips as he read the text.

Another message came in.

"Get your stubborn self to our usual spot. You have ten minutes."

Kenan's smirk deepened, and finally He replied: "I'll be there in half an hour."

A response came immediately on his mobile.

"KD, you stone-headed brute..!"

Kenan chuckled under his breath but didn't reply further. He simply locked his phone, slid it back into his pocket, and leaned back in his chair, eyes sharp and calculating...

***_______***

[After some time]

the meeting ended, and everyone started leaving one by one, returning to their designated work. The conference room, which had been filled with intense discussions just moments ago, was now emptying out, leaving behind the lingering echoes of conversations.

Arwan leaned back in his chair, watching as Kenan remained seated, lost in thought.

"Kenan, did you inform your mom about your arrival?" Arwan asked, breaking the silence.

"No, Dad. I planned to surprise her at dinner."

Kenan leaned back in his chair with a small smirk, his fingers tapping lightly on the armrest.

Asaph, closed the file and placed it in front of Kenan, signaling the official end of the meeting.

"Well, she's going to be overjoyed to see us."

Arwan chuckled, his expression softening at the thought of his wife's reaction. "Anyway, my other bratty flash told me she's busy with her NGO seminar the whole day."

"Yeah, I talked to Drake too," Kenan replied, stretching his arms slightly.

"I'm meeting Senator Harrison for lunch. Want to join?" Arwan offered casually.

Kenan glanced at his phone, a notification popping up. He smirked. "I would have, but I just got a message from Iris."

Arwan let out a knowing chuckle. "Got it... Go then. Don't keep her waiting, or she'll roast you alive, chew you up and spit you out."

Asaph, who had been standing silently beside them, failed to suppress a smile. Everyone knew about Kenan and Iris's unique bond.

Kenan sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Dad..."

Arwan only raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying teasing his son.

Kenan got up from his chair, adjusting his coat as he prepared to leave, and As expected, Asaph followed him, his usual habit of shadowing Kenan wherever he went. "It's fine, Attorney Asaph, You can take off now." Kenan buttoned his coat and checked his watch.

Asaph hesitated for a second before nodding. "Understood, Sir."

Kenan gave him a brief nod before walking toward the exit, his confident strides echoing in the now-empty hallway.

The moment he stepped out of the conference room, he pulled out his phone again. His eyes skimmed over Iris's last message, and a small chuckle left his lips.

"This girl never changes..." he thought before heading toward the parking lot, where his Blackie was waiting for him.

***-------***

Kenan pulled his car to a smooth stop in front of a cozy café. The engine's low rumble ceased as he turned off the ignition.

His sleek black car, Blackie had already turned heads, but as soon as he stepped out, the focus instantly shifted to him.

Tall, impeccably dressed, exuding raw masculinity. He was impossible to ignore. His sharp gaze scanned the café, searching for a familiar face. Just as he was about to take another step, a pair of hands suddenly covered his eyes from behind.

"Still using such lame tricks?" he muttered, effortlessly pulling the hands away.

A familiar chuckle followed. "You came back and didn't even bother to inform me... That's not fair, KD!"

It was Iris, his childhood best friend...

"What if I say I wanted to surprise you?" He smirked, shoving his hands into his coat pockets, his voice laced with amusement.

Iris rolled her eyes. "I won't buy this lame excuse."

Kenan arched a brow, his lips twitching with a teasing grin. "Really? Why?" He sat down with a roguish chuckle, adjusting the collar of his coat with nonchalant ease.

"Because a cunning fox like you never does anything out of schedule without a reason." She plopped onto the opposite chair, her knowing gaze locked onto his.

"I'll take that as a compliment." He grinned, drumming his fingers on the table. "Anyway, now go and fetch lunch because I know you already ordered it."

Iris leaned back lazily, resting an arm on the chair. "Last time, I went. Now it's your turn, KD!" She shot him a glare, challenging him.

It's a small but cozy Café with self-service, but it's their favorite, as they have been coming here since they were in highschool.

He arched a brow at her. "Alright, let's settle this fairly." He sat straight, his expression turning serious.

"Rock, paper, scissors," he said, shaking his fist.

"Rock, paper, scissors!" she repeated, shaking hers.

Iris ended up with scissors.

Kenan smirked, revealing his rock.

She groaned, rolling her eyes dramatically. "Aurgh!"

His smirk deepened.

"KD, how do you always get me?!" she whined, resting her chin on her palm.

"Simple. You always choose scissors." He shrugged casually.

"Really? I never noticed."

"Because your tongue is also like scissors...sharp and cutting." He smirked, enjoying her reaction.

She narrowed her eyes at him. "And you know why you always choose rock?"

Kenan immediately arched a brow, sensing she was about to say something ridiculous.

"Because you're as stubborn as one! Always acting tough and immovable." She grinned, eyes twinkling mischievously.

His smirk faded. "Iris!" He shot her a glare.

She burst into laughter, completely unbothered.

"We're in public. I have a reputation to uphold, girl!" He exhaled, shaking his head.

"Reputation my foot! There's no such thing as reputation between friends." She crossed her arms smugly, watching his irritation with pure delight.

Kenan sighed, shaking his head. "You're unbelievable."

"Now stop talking, KD, and bring something to eat. I'm starving." She leaned back, folding her arms.

"I'm not going," he retorted, mirroring her posture.

Before their argument could continue, a familiar voice interrupted.

"Hello, Tom and Jerry."

chapter 3: the unbreakable trio

Both turned their heads toward the entrance.

There stood Drake, hands shoved into his pockets, his usual poker-faced expression intact.

"Drake!" Kenan stood up and greeted him with a firm hug.

"Welcome back, bro," Drake said, giving him a pat on the back.

Iris grinned, shifting to make space. "Hey, DD! Finally, you're here. I was waiting for you."

Kenan gave her a look. "You call me a reputation freak, but what about this brat?" He chuckled, nodding toward Drake.

She smirked, pressing two fingers to her lips and miming a lock. "Oh, he's my Spike bulldog. I won't say anything about him."

Kenan shook his head with an amused smile.

Drake gave them both a look before speaking flatly, "I'll grab lunch first before you two attract the whole café to us." And with that, he strode toward the reception counter.

Kenan and Iris shared a knowing glance before bursting into laughter.

They were having lunch together, enjoying their usual banter.

Iris leaned closer, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"KD, those girls are literally eating you with their eyes." She winked, nudging him slightly.

Kenan didn't even bother to glance up from his plate. "Not my concern." He continued eating, unbothered.

But just as Iris smirked, a confident-looking girl approached their table, her heels clicking against the floor.

"Excuse me, can I have your number?" she asked sweetly, twirling a strand of her perfectly curled hair.

Without looking at her, Kenan simply replied, "No."

The girl hesitated but quickly regained her composure. "You won't be disappointed, I promise."

She reached out, about to touch his shoulder, but the moment her fingers neared him, Kenan's gaze snapped toward her. His sharp, ice-cold stare pierced right through her, sending an instant chill down her spine.

She froze......

Her confidence crumbled in seconds under the weight of his intimidating presence.

"Oh... it's fine. I’ll go... Sorry to bother you." She forced an awkward smile before turning on her heels and leaving in a hurry.

Kenan, as if nothing happened, went back to his meal, his expression unchanged. While Drake, who had been watching the scene, shook his head and sighed. "Women are crazy creatures."

Iris gasped dramatically, arching an eyebrow.

"Hey! I'm also a woman. How can you say that?"

Drake smirked, leaning back. "Woman? Come on, you're our bro." He smacked her back playfully.

Iris scoffed. "Yeah, yeah, that's why you only talk to me. Otherwise, you wouldn't even spare a glance at a girl who doesn't call you brother."

She chuckled.

And that was the truth.

Drake had set a strict rule for himself... he only talked to girls who called him 'brother.' In his university, most girls avoided him because who would willingly call a handsome hunk a 'brother' when they wanted something more?

Kenan smirked, taking a sip of his coffee. "Well, I agree with Drake. You are our third bro." He sighed dramatically, placing a hand on his chest. "But people either think you're our sister or my girlfriend. Poor me. Because of you, I'm still single."

Iris rolled her eyes. "Hey, Mr. Rock head..! a girl literally just approached you!"

Before Kenan could respond, Drake cut in, shaking his head. "Correction, please... a gold digger....Not a girl."

Iris scoffed, flipping her hair. "Really? Then what about me? Don't forget that you two always ruin my dates by showing up uninvited."

Kenan smirked. "Dates? Those guys are just loafers who come for flings."

Drake nodded. "Don't worry, girl, we'll find the best guy for you. We won't let you die single." He winked teasingly.

Drake leaned in slightly. "But bro, the problem is… who's going to bear this hydrogen bomb for a lifetime?" He shook his head dramatically.

Kenan clicked his tongue in a fake pity. "That's true, man. This one's a ticking time bomb."

Iris gasped, placing a hand on her chest in a mock offense. "I will have the best man in the world! In fact, you two will take tips from him to make your women happy." She flipped her hair gracefully, as if already imagining the moment.

Kenan exchanged glances with Drake before smirking, then he raised a hand. "Drake, people really started dreaming in broad daylight."

Drake grinned and smacked his palm against Kenan's in a high-five. Right in front of her face.....

Iris clenched her jaw. "Do you two seriously have nothing better to do than pull my leg?!"

Her chair scraped against the floor as she stood up angrily.

Kenan chuckled. "Hey, listen… Iris-"

But she was already stomping toward the exit. Drake, meanwhile, was still laughing. Kenan sighed and got up to follow her, knowing exactly how stubborn she could be.

Just as he was walking past the tables, a sudden force collided into him.

A girl.....

The same one who had asked for his number earlier. She had purposely stepped into his path.

"HEY, MR…!! ARE YOU BLIND?!"

she shouted, making a scene.

Iris, who had already reached the door, paused. She turned around and sighed. "This girl is gone for sure..."

Kenan's jaw clenched as his eyes darkened, his patience already running thin.

The air in the café grew tense in an instant.

Kenan just folded his arms calmly, his sharp gaze fixed on the girl in front of him.

"Why are you bumping into me like a stray dog?" She barked at him.

Drake's eyes widened in shock, while Iris clenched her fists, rage bubbling inside her.

"This bítch-" she muttered, about to storm toward them, but Drake quickly grabbed her arm.

"Cool down, bro, and let's enjoy the show," Drake whispered while smirking.

The girl was still yelling, drawing everyone's attention in the café.

But Kenan?

He stood there, unfazed, his expression as calm as ever, as if her presence barely registered.

"Maybe if you take off your shades, you'd see your surroundings clearly!" she snapped, trying to sound confident.

Kenan tilted his head slightly, his smirk deepening. "I can see clearly with my shades too," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "But you? You can't even see your surroundings properly with those contact lenses."

Her face scrunched in confusion before she frowned.

Kenan took a small step forward, his deep voice lowering slightly, making sure she heard every word. "And that's exactly why everyone here can see that you purposely bumped into me after I refused to give you my contact number."

The girl's cheeks flushed crimson. "What?!" she stammered and was clearly embarrassed.

Iris, unable to hold back, burst into laughter, making the situation even worse for the girl.

The girl shot Kenan an angry glare before turning away in frustration. "Excuse me!" she huffed, about to leave.

Kenan unfolded his arms, his smirk vanishing in an instant..."Excused." His voice was sharp, final.

The girl gritted her teeth. "Bloody unethical man!" she cursed under her breath before stomping out of the café.

Iris wiped a tear from the corner of her eye, still laughing. "Did you just see her face?"

Kenan simply shrugged his shoulders, completely unaffected.

Drake shook his head with a small chuckle. "Diplomatic woman."

Iris stretched her arms with a playful yawn. "Anyway, let's go have some ice cream."

Drake ruffled her hair. "Okay, but you're paying."

"Tsk, always saving money," she scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"Because I'm still living on pocket money," Drake teased, pulling her hair strands in a friendly manner. "I'm not earning yet, you know."

Just then, Kenan's phone started ringing. He pulled it out of his pocket and answered. "Yes, Dad?" He listened for a moment before nodding. "Okay, I'll be there in a while." He ended the call and shoved the phone back into his pocket.

"What happened?" Iris asked, tilting her head.

"You two can go ahead. I have an important meeting," he said, adjusting his coat.

"Okay, see you later!" Iris grinned and hopped into Drake's car.

Drake gave Kenan a nod. "See you at dinner, bro."

"Yeah." Kenan watched as they drove off before turning to his own car.

He ran a hand over the sleek surface of his Blackie before sliding into the driver's seat. "Let's go, baby," he murmured, starting the engine with a smooth roar....
