11 PM, High-End Nightclub
The city of Seoul was alive with flashing lights and deafening music. Inside an exclusive high-end nightclub, people from all walks of life indulged in the night’s pleasures. Youth swayed on the dance floor, laughter and music blending into a chaotic symphony. The air was thick with the scent of expensive perfumes and alcohol. Bartenders worked their magic, crafting colorful cocktails, while bouncers stood at the ready, their sharp eyes scanning for trouble.
In stark contrast to the vibrant scene downstairs, the VIP section on the first floor exuded a different kind of energy. Behind the thick, soundproof doors of a luxurious private lounge, the atmosphere was cold and tense.
At the end of the corridor, inside the largest VIP room, a man in his mid-forties sat on an expensive leather couch, exuding authority. His perfectly tailored three-piece suit and the cigar between his fingers hinted at his wealth and status. His sharp features remained calm as he swirled a glass of whiskey in his other hand, eyes scanning the lively scene before him.
Surrounding him were his business partners and top subordinates, all with tense expressions. Beautiful young men and women danced seductively in the center of the room, but the guests barely spared them a glance. Their focus remained on the man in the main seat—Chairman Kang Hyun-Shik, one of the most feared figures in the business world.
A man in his early forties, Kang’s secretary, approached him with a respectful bow, holding out a sleek tablet. “Chairman Kang, as you requested, I’ve gathered all the information on the Kim siblings. By tomorrow, the job will be done.”
Kang took the tablet, his expression unreadable as he scanned the contents. A small smirk tugged at his lips.
Name: Kim Taehyung
Age: 30
Parents: Deceased
Siblings: One younger sister
Likes: His sister
Dislikes: Betrayal, anyone or anything that upsets his sister
Personality: Cold, rational, and silent to outsiders; calm and reliable brother for his sister
Weakness: His sister
Name: Kim Hyun-Soo
Age: 18
Parents: Deceased
Siblings: One elder brother
Likes: Her brother, writing BL novels
Dislikes: Seeing her brother sad or in a bad mood, people criticizing her BL preferences
Personality: Sweet, cheerful, and lovely
Weakness: Her brother and BL novels
Kang chuckled, setting the tablet down. “A man with no weaknesses except his precious little sister... How touching.”
One of his business associates, a middle-aged man with graying hair, took a puff of his cigar before speaking, frustration evident in his voice. “Chairman Kang, we need to deal with this man quickly. Because of Kim Taehyung, several of our overseas contracts have been delayed or outright canceled. Investors are starting to hesitate.”
Another young executive, dressed in an expensive suit, leaned forward, voice laced with irritation. “He’s been blocking our expansions in Europe and the U.S. His connections run deep, and he’s got a clean reputation. No scandals, no weaknesses—except for that sister of his.”
A bald, heavy-set man slammed his glass onto the table. “If we don’t handle him soon, he’ll destroy years of our efforts. The Kim family may have fallen after his parents’ death, but that man is dangerously smart. He’s been making a comeback. If he stabilizes, we’re done for.”
Kang exhaled a ring of smoke, eyes gleaming with amusement. “Calm down, gentlemen. By tomorrow, Kim Taehyung will no longer be a threat.”
His secretary stepped forward again. “The plan is already in motion, sir. By morning, their downfall will be complete.”
Kang took another sip of his whiskey before setting the glass down with a satisfied smirk. “Good. Let’s see how long a man can stand tall when the only thing holding him up is taken away.”
Laughter filled the room as glasses clinked together in celebration, unaware that fate had other plans for Kim Taehyung.

...******...
Kim Mansion – Master Bedroom, 5:00 AM
The man on the bed opened his eyes precisely at 5:00 AM, his internal clock waking him before the alarm could ring. He reached over and turned it off before sitting up. Without any rush, he smoothed out the sheets, making the bed look untouched.
Heading to the bathroom, he washed his face with cold water, letting the coolness chase away any lingering drowsiness. His routine was set in stone—discipline woven into every action.
In the private gym, he exercised for two hours, his body moving with practiced ease. The rhythmic sounds of his breathing and the soft hum of machinery filled the room. At exactly 7:00 AM, he stepped into the shower.
The bathroom filled with warm steam, blurring the glass walls. Water cascaded down his toned body, tracing the sharp lines of his muscles before disappearing down the drain. It was a brief moment of solitude before the day’s responsibilities took over.
After wrapping a towel around his waist, he stepped into his vast cloakroom. Rows of neatly arranged suits, ties, and shoes lined the space. Without hesitation, he selected a tailored black suit, a limited-edition watch, and polished leather shoes.
Standing before the full-length mirror, he buttoned his shirt and adjusted his tie with precise movements. His dark hair, still slightly damp, was slicked back with minimal effort.
At that moment, his phone vibrated on the nearby dresser.
“Sir, the matter regarding the boy who misbehaved with your sister has been settled,” his secretary, Jung, reported.
Taehyung’s eyes darkened slightly. “Good,” he replied, his voice cold but composed. “Make sure it doesn’t happen again.”
Meanwhile – Hyun Soo’s Bedroom, 7:00 AM
In a luxurious princess-style room, the alarm blared repeatedly, shattering the peaceful morning silence. A small groan escaped from the bundle of blankets as Hyun Soo scrunched her nose, her lips pressed into a pout. She buried her face deeper into the pillow, desperately clinging to the remnants of her dream.
However, the alarm refused to be ignored. With a defeated sigh, she reached out blindly and smacked the nightstand, barely managing to shut it off.
Dragging herself out of bed, she shuffled toward the bathroom, rubbing her lower abdomen with a wince. “Ugh… stupid cramps,” she mumbled.
After a quick shower, she stepped into her cloakroom. Unlike her brother’s neatly organized space, hers was a whirlwind of colors and fabrics. Dresses, skirts, and oversized sweaters filled the racks, along with a dedicated shelf for accessories.
She stood in front of the full-length mirror, contemplating her outfit. “Something cute but comfortable…”
After a few minutes of indecision, she settled on a loose cream-colored sweater and a pleated skirt. She debated wearing heels but opted for sneakers instead.
Grabbing her bag, she tied her hair into a messy ponytail and skipped toward the dining room.
At Dining Table
Taehyung was already seated, sipping black coffee and reading the morning reports. Hyun Soo plopped into the seat across from him, letting out a small sigh.
“You’re frowning,” he noted without looking up.
She rested her cheek against her palm. “Cramps,” she muttered.
He glanced at her plate, noting the lack of appetite. “Did you take medicine?”
“Yeah, but it still sucks,” she pouted before taking a bite of her toast. “It’s fine, though. I’ll survive.”
He didn’t respond immediately, but a moment later, he placed a cup of warm ginger tea in front of her.
She blinked. “Huh?”
“Drink it,” he ordered. “It’ll help.”
Her lips curled into a small smile. “Thanks, oppa.”
After a few minutes of eating in comfortable silence, Hyun Soo suddenly perked up. “Oh! I had this amazing dream last night.”
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. “About?”
She grinned. “My novel! I think I finally figured out how to finish the rough draft. I just need to revise some parts.”
He took a sip of his coffee. “That’s good.”
“Also,” she continued excitedly, “I’m meeting my friend later at a café to talk about college stuff.”
Taehyung’s fingers stilled against his cup. “…Which café?”
Hyun Soo tilted her head. “Um, just the one near campus. Why?”
A strange feeling settled in his chest—an unexplainable unease. He ignored it, setting his cup down with a quiet clink. “I’ll have someone drive you.”
Hyun Soo waved a hand. “It’s fine! I can go on my own.”
He gave her a look.
“…Okay, okay. I’ll let the driver take me,” she relented.
Taehyung nodded, but the uneasiness remained.

...******...
As they left the mansion, Taehyung insisted on dropping Hyun Soo off. Though he didn’t voice it, an odd sense of unease had settled in his chest. Hyun Soo, on the other hand, was delighted that her overprotective brother was taking the time to accompany her.
Inside the sleek black car, Taehyung sat in the backseat, engrossed in reports on his tablet. Hyun Soo, sitting beside him, scrolled through her phone before getting bored. The comfortable silence was only interrupted by the soft hum of the engine.
Suddenly, Hyun Soo thought about her dream from last night—the novel she had just finished drafting. The vivid scene played in her mind:
In a dimly lit classroom, a slender boy with delicate features took hesitant steps backward. His fair skin glowed under the faint light, his lips slightly parted in nervous anticipation. In front of him stood a taller figure—sharp features, cold yet devastatingly handsome. His eyes, dark and unreadable, locked onto the smaller boy with an intensity that sent shivers down his spine.
Min Yoongi.
Unlike his icy reputation, his gaze carried something else—an obsession, a longing that even he didn’t seem to understand. He took a step closer, then another. Park Jimin’s breath hitched. He wanted to retreat, but his back hit the wall. Nowhere to run. Yoongi reached out, fingers brushing against his cheek. The air between them grew heavy. Their faces inched closer... closer...
Just as their lips were about to meet—
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
Hyun Soo jolted awake, startled by her alarm.
She sighed. "Ugh, why did my dream have to end there?"
Now, as she sat in the car, she glanced at her brother, who was still focused on his work. A mischievous glint flickered in her eyes.
“Oppa, do you want to hear about my new novel?” she asked, shifting closer.
Without looking up, Taehyung hummed, "Go ahead."
Grinning, Hyun Soo began explaining.
"The main character, Jimin, is the heir to the Park family. But he hides his identity and enters college as a scholarship student, wanting to make genuine friends. The male lead, Min Yoongi, is the icy yet morally upright student council president—and also an heir. Their families are business partners. Then there's Jeon Jungkook, Jimin’s elder cousin, and Kim Taehyung, Yoongi’s elder cousin."
Taehyung finally looked up, quirking an eyebrow. "You used our names?"
Hyun Soo laughed. "Not exactly! Just a coincidence."
Just as she was about to continue—
Screech!
The car jerked violently. Hyun Soo lurched forward, caught off guard. Taehyung’s reflexes kicked in, his arm instinctively shielding her.
“What the hell?” Taehyung snapped, his voice sharp.
The driver cursed, gripping the wheel tightly, "Sir, there's a---"
CRASH!
A blinding impact. The world spun. Metal twisted. The sharp scent of burning rubber and gasoline filled the air.
Darkness swallowed them whole.
