perhaps I might have been more than this. Perhaps, if someone had seen me, truly seen me, I could have been saved. Maybe, just once, I might have felt what it means to be loved… to be enough. But the world has no mercy for those like me. And so I leave it, as I lived—unwanted, and alone.

Was it too much to ask?
Henrich thought, the weight of the world finally lifting as his body gave out.

To be held... to be wanted? All my life, I searched for a hand that would pull me from the darkness, a voice that would call me by name—not with fear, not with hatred, but with love. Perhaps, if the stars had been kinder, I could have been someone different. Someone better. But in this story... in this cursed life... I was born to be the villain. And so, I leave this world as I lived it—empty, forgotten, unloved.
rose Steven (fl past life)
(Flipping through the final pages of the novel, her room dimly lit by the glow of her bedside lamp.)Henrich… the villain everyone despised…(She pauses)Died alone, unloved, and hated by all
She sighs deeply, closing the book for a moment before resting her chin on her hand.
rose Steven (fl past life)
(Talking to herself.)But why did it have to end like this? Did no one see the pain he carried all his life? The way he was wronged… neglected… broken?
She opens the book again, reading the haunting description of Henrich’s final moments.
rose Steven (fl past life)
A villain, they called him. But he wasn’t born cruel—he was made that way. If someone had cared, had tried to reach him, maybe his story could have been different.
She leans back against the headboard, staring up at the ceiling, lost in thought.
rose Steven (fl past life)
(Whispers softly.)I wish I could rewrite his story. To show him love, to change his fate
The words seem to linger in the air as she slowly drifts off to sleep, the novel still clutched in her hand
The room begins to shift around her, the edges of reality blurring like ink spilled on parchment. Her breath catches as a strange warmth washes over her
rose Steven (fl past life)
(Suddenly wide awake, voice trembling.)What… what’s happening?
The pages of the book glow faintly, its ink swirling as though alive. Her vision grows hazy, and she feels herself being pulled into the light.

The ornate mirror reflected a delicate face she didn't recognise
The heavy robes of royalty draped over her slender form
It wasn't the unfamiliarity of her appearance that scared her but the undeniable realisation of who she has become
A character doomed to tragedy
This wasn't merely a story anymore, This was her reality, her life -hers to change.

could she unravel the chains of fate that bound a loveless king and a broken child
The rain outside turned to a torrential storm as if the heavens themselves awaited her answer

If by that you mean our sister who has finally decided not to greet us with daggers for eyes, then yes, I do. Though I find it unsettling.
Elysia rises gracefully as her brothers enter the chamber. Her hands, usually folded in disdain, now clasp before her—a gesture of openness.

Godfrey. Ellarian. I thank you for coming to see me.
Godfrey halts mid-step, exchanging a wary glance with Ellarian

We came because the king summoned us, not because we thought you'd care for our company.
Ellarian narrows his eyes, studying her carefully.
Ellarian Eadric
What game is this, Elysia? You’ve never cared for pleasantries before. Where is the woman who spat venom the last time we stood under this roof?
Elysia Theodore Allesandro (fl)
(Takes a deep breath, her voice softer than either man remembers.)
She is gone. Or rather, she sees now the error of her ways.
Godfrey Eadric
(Scoffs, crossing his arms.)
The error of your ways? What error? The way you dismissed us as if we were strangers? The way you defied every plea we made to reason with you about this marriage? Have you only now realized the damage done?
Elysia Theodore Allesandro (fl)
(Her head dips, genuine regret lacing her tone.)
I have. And no words of mine can mend what has passed, but I swear to you, I intend to make amends. Not just to you, but to...

(She pauses, her gaze faltering.)
To everyone I have wronged
Ellarian Eadric
This is not the Elysia I know. Where is the pride? The sharp tongue that cared for no man's opinion?
Elysia Theodore Allesandro (fl)
(Lifts her eyes to meet his.)
She is learning, brother. Pride has its place, but it has done me no favors here. If I am to be the queen this kingdom needs, I cannot remain that woman.
Godfrey Eadric
And why this sudden change? What has brought this revelation
Elysia Theodore Allesandro (fl)
(Smiles faintly, though there is a deep sadness in her eyes.)
Sometimes, Godfrey, it takes being shattered to see how broken you truly are.

(bow) I'll excuse myself brothers. I hope you forgive me even though I know I am unforgivable given my actions
