You Are My Sweet Dream
collision
(Liam pushes open the door violently, stepping into outside the house. His heart pounds, anger fueling every step as he approaches his car. He yanks the door open, throws himself inside, and slams it shut.)
(The car speeds down the empty road, headlights slicing through the darkness. Inside, LIAM grips the wheel tightly, his jaw clenched, his mind a storm of frustration and anger.)
(His father’s voice echoes in his head—)
Mr North
(serious, firm)
"This is your responsibility, Liam.
Liam North
(angry, rebellious)
"No. This is your responsibility. Your life. I won’t let it become mine!"
Liam North
( takes a deep breath, trying to push the memory aside. He grips the steering wheel tighter and presses down harder on the gas pedal.)
(Then—)
A FLASH OF MOVEMENT.
(A figure walks onto the road. It's a girl with dark hair. Just a moment too late, she sees the car coming toward her—her eyes go wide with fear.)
Liam North
(shouting)
Shit—!
(He yanks the steering wheel, tires SCREECHING on the road. The car SWERVES sharply. For a moment, everything is a blur—)
CRASH!
(The car crashes into a streetlight. The IMPACT is jarring. The world tilts. Glass SHATTERS. The airbag bursts into Liam’s face, pushing him back.)
A few beats of silence. Then—
(A knock on the driver’s side window. A blur of dark hair.)
(Through the cracked glass, LIAM sees her. The girl from campus. Up close for the first time. But her expression isn’t dreamy or soft—it’s a mix of shock and annoyance.)
collision 2
(The car slams into a streetlight. The impact is violent. Glass shatters. The airbag explodes into Liam’s chest, knocking the breath out of him.)
(For a moment, everything is still. Then—)
(A knock on the driver’s side window. A blur of dark hair.)
(Through the cracked glass, LIAM sees her. The girl from campus. Up close for the first time. But her expression isn’t dreamy or soft—it’s a mix of shock and annoyance.)
Mia wood
(muffled, through the window, frustrated)
Are you insane?!
(LIAM winces, pushing the door open. The cold air rushes in as he stumbles out, his body aching. He barely registers the pain—his heart is still racing from the near miss.)
Liam North
(dazed, voice rough)
What… what were you doing in the middle of the road?
(The girl crosses her arms, unimpressed.)
Mia wood
(deadpan)
Excuse me? You almost ran me over!
(LIAM exhales, Running a hand through his hair. This is not how he imagined their first conversation going.)
Liam North
(gritted teeth)
I didn’t see you.
Mia wood
(sarcastic, gesturing to the wrecked car)
Yeah, I noticed.
(A beat. The adrenaline is fading, replaced by the heavy silence of the night. Liam looks at her—really looks at her. She’s just as he remembers from campus. Except now, she’s standing in front of him, real, angry, and completely unaware that he has spent the last semester watching her from a distance.)
Mia wood
(sighing, softer now)
Are you hurt?
(LIAM blinks. He wasn’t expecting that.)
Liam North
(shaking his head)
I’m fine.
(Her eyes flick to the totaled car, then back at him, clearly not convinced.)
Mia wood
(deadpan)
Right. Because crashing into a pole is totally normal behavior
(LIAM almost laughs. Almost. But then, he remembers who he is, what he’s running from. His face hardens.)
Liam North
(gruffly)
Look, you don’t need to worry about me.
collision 3
(She raises an eyebrow, clearly debating whether to push further. But instead, she just exhales, pulling out her phone.)
Liam North
(frowning)
What are you doing?
Mia wood
(flatly, not looking up)
Calling a tow truck.
Liam North
(grumbling)
I don’t need a damn tow truck.
(LIAM glares. She smirks.)
Mia wood
(mocking)
Unless you want to call your parents?
(LIAM stiffens, his whole body going tense. She doesn’t know him, doesn’t know how deep that cut just went—but he feels it.)
(A beat. Then, through clenched teeth—)
Liam North
Just call the damn truck.
(The girl smirks victoriously as she presses the call button.)
(As she talks, Liam watches her. The fire in her voice, the way she doesn’t back down. He’s wanted to talk to her for months. And now, here she is—because of a stupid accident.)
Liam North
(His father’s words come back to him.)
Liam let out a deep breath and looked down at the cracked road. Maybe he should’ve just let the car crash worse.
