"Wow, this place is so beautiful, I mean look at all this scene is really nice. I'd like to come here more", Vida said excitedly to her friend Jung BO ri. Kim Vida is a 18yrs old high school student. Her father - a single dad - who migrated from Nigeria to South Korea when she was a year old. Her mother was just someone who had a one-night stand with her dad, gave birth to her and disappeared. Not only that, but her dad was the one who took care of her and is her most cherished treasure. Jung BO ri is her best friend since she was a kid. Her dad and BO ri's parents are neighbors.

   Today, the two best friends decided to climb the mountain after school. The mountain was so beautiful that they took out their phones and started taking pictures. They were so absorbed that they didn't notice the sky was becoming eerie dark, and it was just 2pm. Not long after, a strong wind began to blow.

   " Yah!, Vida!, I think we should go now. it seems like there is going to be a rainstorm ". Bo ri looked around and noticed that Vida was gone the wind was too strong she could see anything. On the other side Vida was screaming BO ri's name, she had no idea she was almost at the edge the mountain. One strong push from the wind saw her down into the sea. When she opened her eye she saw surrounded by water. She knew immediately she was drowning, but she had no strength to save herself, she couldn't even scream for help, and slowly she lost consciousness.

      " Look, old man I have told you leave me alone, I'm not a kid, I'm a nine-tailed fox and I can do whatever I want." This was Duckhwan a 500yrs old nine tailed fox and the master of the entire forest. He was speaking to the monk Dae Gu who acts like his personal assistant (but more like his babysitter). " I'm not an old man besides you're the one who acted like a child. I've told you to quit terrorizing people at night but you wouldn't lis........." He was immediately silenced by Duckhwan who raised his hand up ti beckoned on him to draw closer. "What's that?" Duckhwan went closer and crouched down " wow look at that it's a girl,hmpf I should really double my efforts in terrorizing this people. The monk slapped him at the back of his head while muttering something about his foolishness. " Can't you see she looks different. she is not from around here". Duckhwan on a more closer look discovered she is indeed different. She was a pretty girl with a chocolates skin and a strange hair type. He took off his outer robe and cover the girl while wondering what she was doing here.

" Ah, what a shame. she looks pretty".

  "She is pretty. what could she be doing here?" He looked at the monk and for a brief moment it felt like they was some sort of coded message that past between them. Slowly Duckhwan arched his brows in realisation, " you don't think she is the one right?" " well," replied the monk with a shrug "she looks strange, I think you will agree with me that she is not from here and the prophecy said 'a woman will come with the rain and thunder destined to bring peace or chaos in our land' so she is the one?" as if to answer his question the sky rambled with flashes of lighting evident in the sky. Duckhwan picked up the strange girl and started heading toward the village. " Where are you going?" " To the palace of course that's where she belongs to not my forest ". The monk raised his staff and made a swiping gesture towards him " Why you little..... ".

    Duckhwan gently and quietly flew over the palace walls ( cause he's a nine tailed fox right?). He gently laid her on the ground before flying out again. Just then a palace guard on approaching the site noticed the strange girl and immediately raised an alarm. The commotion outside drew the emperor out of his quarters. He enquired what was going on from one of the guards. " Your majesty there is a strange girl lying in the palace. " He showed the emperor the girl and almost immediately another lighting struck and rain started to fall. Everyone stood surprised and ad if controlled by a remote started to scream. " Oh, it's raining! your majesty it's raining!. " The emperor looked at the girl then to the sky and immediately fell on his knees " Thank you great heavens thank you.

VIDA

             A NEW GODDESS

  Vida was awoken by the sunrise that shone on her eyes from the window. She gently rubbed her eyes trying to recollect what had happened to her she remembered going mountain with her friend, taking pictures and then the thunderstorm and rain then the wind before falling into the ocean. "Bo ri aahhh!!" she jerked up from the bed. When she looked around she saw she was in a room furnished to look just like a traditional home. Even her cloths were replaced with a beautiful flower patterned hanbok. Terrified she ran out only to be greeted with the same old traditional environment. "Where am I ?,what is this place? how did I get here?" in her confusion a young girl around the same age as her approached her "miss, you're finally awake, would you like anything". Vida stared at her " who are you? why I'm I even here? miss pls what's going on!?". The girl gently bowed her head and introduced herself " my name is Eun-Sook , I am a palace maid here and you're in the palace of our great emperor who will be coming to see you soon." Vida's eyes were fixed on her. she could understand a word she was say .Eun-sook was staring at the chocolate skin girl in front of her. She was really beautiful with her skin the looked like porcelain. what surprised her more was that the girl regardless of her cute puppy face have a surprisingly slight deep voice. Vida as if possessed by an unforseen spirit suddenly dashed out looking for an exit. Before she could go far, she was caught by the palace guards who dragged her back to her quarters. " let go of me! leave me alone! I just want to go home, yah!! if you keep this up I will sue you guys! hey alright leave me alone I won't run again. " The guards released her but didn't leave her side in case she runs again. Eun-sook gently approached her and tried to coax her to eat something and prepare for the emperor's arrival, promising her that all her questions will be answered. Vida finally calmed down and allow Eun-sook and the other maids to prepare her.

The emperor arrived with Hus officials, the queen dowager, his two sons and his attendants. The chief priestess (shaman) was came with him. Vida was brought to them and the emperor beaming with smiles when he saw her asked how her night was. What I am I doing here " she blurted out without answering the emperor's question. The entire group except for the servant started to laugh .The chief priestess came close and held her shoulder "you must be really curious you didn't even reply his majesty, listen child, the heavens for told this day, the day they will save us from the 3yrs drought that took over our land. They said they will send a girl who will bring rain for us and they sent you. The reasons for them choosing you is unknown to me but I'm sure that the heavens didn't pick you in vain, therefore , while you are here you will be my personal assisted and help me offer Thanksgiving prayers to the heavens for using you to answer our prayer at least until they decides to take you back."

Vida looked at her completely stupidfied by what she was witnessing. One time she was having a good time with her friend and another she found her self in this hell. What about her father,school,friends. How will she cope in this foreign land and how in the world did she end up in this timeline.

 At first, everything was going well and Vida actually liked staying in the palace. Even acting as Miss Dam-bi's assistant was fun. However, as time went on, she began to miss her home,her dad,best friend and her school. She longed for the day she will go home. As days turn to months she began to wonder if she will ever return back to her past life. Miss Dam-bi had assured her that once her mission is complete,the heavens will surely send her back. But what exactly is her mission? she doesn't know neither did miss Dam-bi know. She became friends with Eun-sook - who became her personal maid - and also a palace guard who was also assigned to her named Hae-won.

Eun-sook is about the same age as Vida, her mother served the Emperor for a long time and because of her dedication,the Emperor allowed Eun-sook to also serve him. As for Hae-won,he was an orphan when prince Byeong ho( the second son of the king) first saw him. According to Eun-sook, Prince Byeong ho likes running away from the palace to go play in the capital, that was where he saw Hae-won and became friends with him. Eventually,when the emperor found out about his escapades he promised his father never to jump the walls again but in return hae-won was to be brought into the palace.

   Facially, Hae-won is a very good looking guy with a cheerful personality. That was the reason why the king named him Hae-won, meaning a bright, beautiful lake. However, regardless of how close and secured they make Vida feel,she still can't help but long to go home. One night,she decided to venture into the mountain just behind the palace. She noticed that the mountain resembles the one she and Bo-ri climbed. So she thought if she could find her way back if she goes there.

Vida began to think that she might have made a big mistake venturing into the forest. The paths were dark and strange sounds pierce through the silence every now and then. Suddenly, it became strangely quite and from afar Vida could see a bright large eyes staring at her. Immediately, she stiffen "wh..who are you?.... if this is some sort joke then stop cause I'm not afraid." One could see that she was shaking like a leave from fear. When no one came she continued her journey. Unknown to her,someone was watching her from a tree top. "Not afraid right?look how you're shaking and you claim you're not afraid," Duckhwan muttered to him self"since you're not afraid,I guess it up to me to scare you out of my forest." He said with a wicked gleam in his eyes. He was about to carry out his 'evil' plan when he noticed some movement below. He looked down only to see a tiger demon following Vida. "Turns out you're not the only invader."

Vida heard a soft growl behind her forcing her to turn but she saw nothing - no wait - she saw something a glowing eye staring at her and approaching sinisterly towards her. "No!..stay away!" she screamed as all the nerves in her body went on full alert. She turned and started to run determined to escape but her dress wasn't helping. To make matters worst, she struck her feet on a tree stump and fell, her ankle twisted and her forehead bleeding. She crawled on the ground trying to get away,tears were pouring down her face. "Some please save me" was all she could mutter. Her heard was spinning and she felt faint. She turned in time to see whatever was after her, launch towards her."Ahhhh!!!!!" she shrieked,her eyes involuntarily shut as she await her death but nothing came, rather she heard the sound of what seem like a neck snapping,a whimpering sound of a dying animal then a thud. Slowly,she opened her eyes and saw a very handsome man standing in front of her. Terrified and exhausted, she fainted.
