First day at Haneul Academy. Minho and Jisung, ex-best friends turned rivals, get paired in Literature class.

"For this assignment, you'll be working in pairs. And because I know some of you lack the ability to choose wisely, I’ve already assigned your partners."

Han scowls “Can’t you change the pairs, Mr. Jung?”

Mr. Jung Minho

*Their teacher smirks, clearly entertained* “Nope. And I’d be careful with that attitude, Han. The theme of your essay is unspoken feelings.”

*Minho and Jisung freeze. There’s a long, awkward silence as the rest of the class snickers*

Lee Know

*Minho leans back in his chair, arms crossed*

“Oh? Unspoken feelings? Sounds like you have a lot of those, Jisung.”

Han Jisung

*Jisung flushes red and kicks Minho’s chair* “Shut up, Lee Minho.”

*Their teacher just chuckles and walks away, leaving them both fuming.*

After the disastrous pairing announcement, Jisung slumps in his chair, arms crossed. Minho, meanwhile, just smirks, finding Jisung’s frustration way too entertaining.

Mr. Jung Minho

*Mr. Jung Minho claps his hands to get the class’s attention* "Alright, everyone, get started. Your first task is to brainstorm ideas with your partner. This essay is due in two weeks, and I expect depth. No shallow nonsense."

Han Jisung

*Jisung mutters under his breath* "This is already nonsense."

Lee Know

*Minho, without looking up, responds casually*, "You know I can hear you, right?"

Han Jisung

*Jisung glares*. "Then pretend you didn’t."

They both sigh heavily at the same time, making eye contact before quickly looking away.

Han Jisung

*Jisung shifts uncomfortably*. “So, um… ideas?”

Lee Know

*Minho taps his pen against the desk*. "You’re the songwriter. You should be good at this."

Han Jisung

Jisung scoffs. "Music is different! And don’t act like you don’t have thoughts—Mr. Jung said depth, which means you should contribute too, genius."

Lee Know

Minho smirks. “Fine. How about a story about two people who hate each other but secretly don’t?”

Han Jisung

Jisung rolls his eyes. “Wow, so original. What’s next? They fall in love?”

Lee Know

Minho shrugs, watching Jisung’s reaction carefully. “Maybe.”

Han Jisung

Jisung instantly chokes on air. “What—”

Lee Know

Minho leans forward, chin resting on his hand. “Why? That make you nervous, Han?”

Han Jisung

Jisung sputters. “Nervous? Pfft. No way.” He looks anywhere but at Minho. “Anyway, next idea.”

Lee Know

Minho smirks, clearly enjoying how flustered Jisung is. "Sure. Whatever you say, partner."

*After class*

*Jisung rushes out as soon as the bell rings, desperate to escape the suffocating tension. But Minho casually falls into step beside him, completely unbothered*

Lee Know

"You’re walking too fast, Jisung. Afraid I’ll steal your ‘unspoken feelings’ idea?"

Han Jisung

Jisung shoots him a glare. “Shut up, Lee Minho.”

Lee Know

Minho chuckles, hands in his pockets. “Make me.”

Han Jisung

Jisung groans. "This was going to be a long two weeks"

A Long Two Weeks Begins

Jisung groans as he trudges down the hallway, still mentally cursing Mr. Jung Minho for pairing him with Lee Minho of all people.

Han Jisung

"This is going to be a long two weeks," he mutters under his breath.

Lee Know

Minho, still walking beside him, smirks. “Oh? Counting the days already? I’m flattered.”

Han Jisung

Jisung shoots him a glare. “Don’t be. I’m just mentally preparing myself for suffering.”

Lee Know

Minho hums, clearly amused. “Well, at least you’re self-aware.”

*Before Jisung can come up with a comeback, his phone buzzes in his pocket. He barely glances at the screen—until his brain registers the name.*

💬 Hey, Jisungie. Long time no see.

*His heart stops.*

Han Jisung

*His fingers tighten around the phone as a cold wave of dread washes over him. No. No, no, no—this wasn’t happening. Not now.*

Lee Know

Minho notices the shift instantly. “What’s wrong?”

Han Jisung

Jisung shoves the phone into his pocket, shaking his head. “Nothing. Just… spam.” His voice is too tight, too unconvincing, but he doesn’t care.

Lee Know

Minho narrows his eyes but doesn’t push. “Sure. Whatever you say, Han.”

Han Jisung

But Jisung barely hears him. His mind is stuck on that message. On the name he never wanted to see again.
