This tells the tale of the normal, not super naturals. A story of THE boy, mike young and his journey to become what he likes to call THE INFINITE ORDINARY. Genre: fantasy, daily life, action, romance, slice of life.

Chapter 1 the boy

Sometimes not everyone wants the best life could offer, some just want to be able to have food on their tables, afford what the need as the live a normal life in a normal house with the one they love.

Well my name is mike, mike young in full. An orphan with no privilege and suffers a lot. *sigh* currently I’m turning 21 but have nothing to be proud of, no friends, no girl, no job and currently just turned homeless.

Life really hits a lot, he said as drops of water starts to drop on him, `life couldn’t get any harder’ he said as he just laid down on the floor as the rain drops increased almost instantly, soaking both him and his bag of worn out clothes.

Raising his left hand he spoke `if only I had a little more help, a little guidance but we the ordinary don’t get such chance’. *sigh*. Well that’s it, I better find where to stay for the night. He said as he stood up with his bag on one hand.

Suddenly he began to fill intense heat, huh what’s wrong; he said as he felt intense heat in side his body. Just as he was still in thought of what was wrong instantly he felt severe pain as he passed out, the only words he heard were `I got you boy’.

Few hours later,

Mike slowly opened his eyes, before him was a dark room with only a single dimly lit bulb which was positioned on his face. Huh, where am I, he questioned inwardly as he tried to gain cognizance of the last moments before he passed out. OH, I forgot to mention, I too am in debt he spoke in a downcast tone.

Looking at the ropes that held him to the chair. Just then the only door in the room opened up, coming in were to figures, a bulky man with a scar on his temples, his shirt having little cuts because of the muscle he had with his shorts showcasing his built legs.

Quickly he turned his head towards the other figure, his eyes opened up in shock as he gave a thorough. Adorned in a mixed color dress, the brunette hair, average looks and good body shape. But all that wasn’t the reason he was shocked `damn that’s huge’, he blurted out as he fixed his gaze the boobs on the lady nothing short from the word BIG. Unfortunately he was too concentrated that he couldn’t notice the mild heat that begun inside his body as a huge fist crashed on his face. At that moment he felt an immense pain as he shouted `what the fuck! Are you dumb or something’.

Looking the bulky man straight into the eye as spitted out blood from his mouth, the bulky man in response to him put on a sly grin as he prepared to hit mike again.`That’s enough dru we don’t want to damage one who owes us a lot besides boss won’t like it if you do so’ the lady by the side reprimanded the bulk man, `besides we haven’t done what boss told us to do’ she completed.

With a little grumble the bulk man withdrew his fist as he said `boy you’re in luck, but trust me after this it won’t be easy for you’ as he moved back giving way for the lady. With a grim look he pondered `wait is that the fearsome dru of the BLACK KING GANG, the one that is said to have wiped out a group of 23 men at the age 12, but why is he here, I heard he only moves around with lily the seductress the only female in the gang who is said to have killed a lot of influential men, and it’s said that she never slept with anyone she wants to kill, I’m really done for this time’ his thoughts came to an end as he felt more sorrow than before.

`Hey Kid I’m lily’ the lady spoke with a smile as she came closer, `I heard you were owing us and still fear nothing seems like we aren’t feared anymore’. As those words reached Mike's ears, his expression froze for a moment as he felt an intense pressure bore on him, he tried to speak, but the words just won’t leave his mouth.

Suddenly the pressure stopped as lily said with a smirk `at least you still know who is above you, well enough of that we came through strict orders from the top to give we came through strict orders from the top to give you an option’ she took a halt as she stared straight to his eyes `mike this is the rule currently either you pay your debt of a million-star cedes after we take out an arm or join our gang with your still with you, so what do you think.

As she finished she stepped back to let dru handle the rest, mike at that moment was in serious thought `what they offered me to join their gang even as I’m owing them a million that’s not like them, they usually decapitate their debtors’ he looked at lily and asked `what do you people have with me, why do you want me to join?

But dru answered instead ` that’s not in your right to ask, do you accept or not, I’m dying to your face after I remove one arm’ with a wide grin making his bloodlust evident. Mike swallowed his saliva as he looked at lily in consideration only to see a smile that made him more scared.

He delved into consideration again ` do I really do what they said, it’s obvious what they want me to pick, well I don’t think I have any choice’.

He looked straight to lily and asked ` do I get an apartment if I join you? With an expectant look he asked. Lily just gave him a nod of affirmation. Well I’m in mike gave in face down as he had no other option.

Dru and lily’s lips both curved with different reasons known to them only, immediately dru crashed another fist to his face but this one was heavier than the other making mike to pass out immediately. `you really had to give him that punch of yours’ said lily as she turned around while bringing out her phone as she texted. Boss its done she wrote as dru jacked up mike’s body on his shoulders then they both left the place…

At this moment only one thought remains, what does destiny have in store for mike…?

Chapter 2 Shuffle Selection

A time in which a great deal in surviving is what is needed, the ethics of the gang and the battle of the strongest has just begun.

Unaware of the impending battle which he added himself just because he wanted to be ordinary and to be ordinary is to survive. In a well-lit office a dark man is seen smoking, he then chuckles as he said `second brother hope your blood is active within your son because I just invited him to the survival world, well time will tell if he is a monster like you’ he completed as he took a puff of his cigarette.

Another room laid mike, his eyes snapped open staring straight to the white ceiling, `where am I? He thought as he sat down on the bed to gather his thought.

So this is where they took me after he knocked me out’ he took a halt as he stood up to look at the room. It’s not bad, at least I’m not in the streets’ he said to cheer himself up. Just as he consoled himself on this decision to join the gang, the door snapped open as lily walked in with a smile on her face.

Their eyes clashed as Mike saw the smile on her face, a smile trepidation and chills to him. Immediately he asked `so what do I do next? Any heads up’. Lily chuckled then said `seems you are really taking this well’ he froze for second then replied ` it’s not like I have any choice, I can’t possibly generate a million-star cedes with no job and a missing hand’ as he smiled wryly.

Lily looked at his face for some time then spoke in a firm voice ` well rest time is over, come let me show you around our base you will need it… a rumbling sound was heard as she was about to complete her statement.

She quickly looks at him which he evaded eye contact, at this moment mike was so embarrassed `damn why would this happen at this moment, like now’ his thoughts ran wild as he face was beet red. Lily shakes her head and said ` seems like our tour starts from the dining hall’.

With that she left the room as mike followed behind, outside the room led a long hall, a hall which brought little shivers to anyone who is new to its sight so was mike.

Being new to the environment he got stares from everyone in the hall, each of them ranging from seasoned fighters to beginners but even those beginners were still better than him.

Mike quickly began to think of a solution for his situation `all of them are just looking at me like a new born rabbit, I really need to learn how to defend my. His thoughts were interrupted by lily as she called him `mike I just want to inform you inside here only the law of survival exists and you would have to survive or be squashed by the shards of defeat’.

As her words entered the ears of mike he immediately approved of his conviction of learning how to fight, with no much effort they had arrived at the dining hall.

The wisps and fresh aroma blew to his nose, at that point lily gestured him to follow her. They passed by a lot of tables and people who were enjoying their food, `there are three levels in the dining hall, each level having more tasty meals than the former, some meals in the final level are said to have special effects that increase the human body potential’ said lily as they walked deeper heading towards the 2nd level. Mike was silent as he absorbed what she said while a look of marvel appeared on his face ` so food now has special effects apart from nutrients’ he thought.

They reached a table which lily sat down and gestured him to do so, quietly they sat down as murmurs arose ` wow did lily find herself a new pet, no I heard this was someone who owes the company, wow so he is a debtor but why is he here? Aren’t debtors killed by the company, hope he lives pass the SHUFFLE SELECTION because he looks so lean and week.

And so a lot of things were said by the bystanders.But in all that mike picked something up `shuffle selection’ he muttered with a tightened face, then their food was brought to their table. He glanced at the food as he asked lily `what is Shuffle selection?’

Chapter 3 Shuffle Selection Part 2

`What is Shuffle selection? Mike asked. Lily who this question was thrown to flash a smile then she said `well shuffle selection, I was going to tell you later during the tour but since you asked… a little silence came in before she continued ` well it’s a cruel and gruesome competition done every two months of new batch of members where the strongest are selected and reward heavily’.

Mike’s face lightened up in surprise, lily watched his facial expression a little then continued ` its location is not known until the day of the competition, mind you each year 200 people join us but barely fifty people makes it out.

As her eyes squeezed a little portraying the harshness of the competition, her silence didn’t last long as she continued ` with your skills I don’t think you can make it five minutes in’, his face tightened the more as he imagined being mangled by a group of bloodthirsty people, but he was internally moved ` but I will help you, the leader said you will under my care for the week as I will be training you, so eat well and fast let’s continue with the tour’ she said unhurriedly, but her tone laced with authority.

Mike thanked her a lot because he appreciated the effort she is willing to put. After they both ate their fill, they left the dining hall heading to another part of a long hallway.

Eventually they arrived at a door with a board boldly written MISSION/MERIT HALL, well this marks the beginning of our tour lily said as she stepped through the door with mike behind.

The Mission/Merit hall as the name said it was a hall a big one in fact the biggest mike had ever with strict looking gray and starlight white paintings, it was divided into two, both sides boldly written their aspect of focus mission on the left and merit on the right. After a little sightseeing done by mike lily began explaining ` this place as the name states is for missions, in the company every member is expected to take a mission at least once a month, after you complete a mission the merit hall give you the merit points assigned to the mission’, she paused as she looked at mike to be sure he was paying attention and continued after she confirmed. `merit points are what runs the company(gang) and practically everything is done by merit points, so you have to take part in missions to live a better life’.

Mike gave a nod as he thought `so that’s why they don’t care about a million-star cedes’, their tour continued as lily spoke on different things and their importance which only made mike marvelled. They went to departments like; Weapons hall, Registration department, and so before lily then led him to the training hall. Being presented to a wide space filled with people training both in groups and lone, with variety of weapons on standby for training purposes only. Mike was temporarily amazed, but he came back as lily began to speak `this is the general training hall for everyone, in here you learn to harness your skills and learn more ways to handle yourself in different and deadly situations’.

Lily spoke as she emphasized on the word deadly, this only made mike more nervous as he turned his head towards her smiling wryly. It wasn’t long he asked ` when do we start the training?

Lily chuckled and said `tomorrow as early as 5am, she took a halt as her face became grim while completing `are you ready, once I teach you I don’t expect any disappointment’.

Her killing aura leaked on purpose intimidating mike more as he gulped down his own saliva, bit his lower lips then said in a firm tone `mike has seen teacher, I will work hard not to disappoint you’ with both hands cupped together and a bow as he said in his thought `I must survive’. His actions made lily very pleased, she gave a nod and said `meet me here tomorrow by 5am or else, also go back to your room alone I want to finish up something’.

Then walked out, with that mike followed her but tool another route to his room.
