There sat a girl on the ghats of river Achankovil, where the clear water flowed leisurely, Picking up the fresh jasmine flowers she just washed
She was sitting with the basket in hands carefully, unaware of her surrounding
Just then she heard someone calling her name from behind

She said sitting beside her

You go, I'll do the rest.
*Smile*
Divya took the basket from her as she stood up

She said with a smile and ran upstairs

*Yelled*
Divya shook her head with a chuckle, knowing the girl is full of antics herself.. and went down to her work
Geethika stepped on the ground along the stairs but she instantly fell on the ground slipping on the mud
?? :- Why are you sleeping here? Or did your father kicked you out of your house?
A voice spoke up, who came and stood beside her
While she just looked at him annoyingly trying to get up but failed miserably

Geethika took a deep breath before snapping knowing she had no other option

He looked at her with a cocky smile before landing his hand that she held up
And just as she was about to get up, she slipped again.. But this time fell on the mud, along with him

Damn, girl. I was helping you. How cruel can you be!
*He goarned*
He said as he fell down, she glanced at him for once and looked forward
She took a step ahead, trying to get up but her leg slipped falling again, now above him who was lying down on the ground with drops of muddy liquid across his face

I'm not a bed for you to lay on, miss.
He said, gently pushing her aside and got up holding her hand
They both stood up as he shot her a death glare

Look what you did...
He said pointing at his clothes full of dirt

Just wash it.. You can take detergent from my house if you need
She said adjusting her Sari

Huh? What did you say??
He looked at her in disbelief

*Said looking at him innocently*
He cut her off before she completed

Girl...? You should thank me for helping you. Have some generosity, you should invite me to your house for a cup of hot coffee that I helped you, not for the detergent oh please.
He exclaimed with a dramatic voice that caught her off guard

Why don't you audition in bollywood? You have great acting skills....
Before he could say anything further, she walked passed him

He yelled at her from behind
There, she yelled back without looking at him and disappeared

CHAPTER 2
Geethika Iyer
Amma? You called me-
Geethika yelled from a distance while coming inside the house
Padma Konar
Where have you been geeta, I've been calling y-
Before she could complete her sentence, her eyes landed on Geethika who stood there holding her sari which was all drenched up in mud and her face messed up with it

She said with wide eyes looking at her with scepticism
While she just scratched the back of her neck and replied being short of words

Uh, um.. It isn't my fault am-

Go wash all these, ceremonies are here to begin geeta, go fast and come.
She said shaking her head while Geethika went inside to freshen up
Just a while later, Geethika came out, she stood in front of the gate looking at the house beautifully decorated with flowers
The house beamed with the wedding hustle, people buzzed around working here and there
Just then she noticed Divya sitting in a corner with her head leaning on one of the pillars

Didi? Why are you here? Everything is alright?
Geethika said coming towards her

*Looked at her*
Divya Konar
I'm fine, just a little tired so thought to sit here..
Geethika Iyer
You are the bride didi, you can't just sit here come you need to get ready.. I'll get you ready come!
She said before dragging Divya inside

I thought about getting ready a little later?

No, No, you need to go now! Let's go!
Divya knows she wouldn't listen anymore so she let her, Just as she was
Stubborn but understanding, cute but appealing, a young lady living with her father in the calm environment of the village, away from the bustling city.. who has never felt the love of a mother, her mother who died while giving birth to her
